I ate here for the first time. They have a really nice bar, the pours on the drinks are nice, its definetly worth every penny you are paying. Yes it is quiet bit expensive for the neighborhood that the restaurant is located but, the service and the food lives up to the expectations. The service was good the portions are a little small, but very delicious. Make sure to try the mac and cheese appetizer, montauk tuna and the the ice cream sandwich trio. The food is fantastic, and if you don't like to valet park, you can park your own car we always do when we go there, you can park in the Suzuki parking lot next door and walk over. I think the service is excellent, they make the best Lemon drop martini's of any bar I have been to. But The ambience combined with excellent service great place to go out for dining or a night cap later on at night they have music and dancing...1 night we were there for dinner then sat at the bar when band started great music.. We went for restaurant week and had the price fixe menu which had options. The ambience was great! Very cozy and stylish. The appetizers were tasty. We had the steak and pasta bolonese and the fish. All the entrees were nice portion sizes and very tasty. Presentation was nice. The biggest downfall was the service no one brought bread to the table. We had to ask for it. The never brought my husband the drink he asked for. They did not offer us coffee or tea with dessert. Staff was nice but forgetful and inexperienced. Bad service...was treated like animals (on Thanksgiving mind you). Was told by our waitress "you won't get served at the bar area, I don't know why they told you that you would." We asked the host to move after we were stuffed into the dining room like sardines (we made reservations a week before). And then they told her she would be serving us there...had a piss poor attitude on thanksgiving. Bartender didn't even make eye contact with us - "wasn't his responsibility to serve us." Just had low conversations talking about the situation with our waitress. Really not a good way to represent your restaurant. Food was good, but will never go back because of the service staff and their attitude. We went for Valentine's Day last year and had an amazing time, but after this experience will never be going back. Had a nice dinner last night. Wait staff was very friendly, could probably use a bit more experience. Overall food was good. We had the Marinated Denver Sirloin, which was cooked to order. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side, but overall a good meal. We also had the Veal Bolinaisse, a special for restaurant week. Just had my daughters bridal shower and had the worst experience ever in all the years I've thrown parties. From the beginning I felt like I was annoying them and should have realized it then. They even told my guest how annoying and what a psycho I was. The SERVICE was TERRIBLE!! The waiters and waitresses never served my guests with the drinks that I had to pay for soda coffee tea. They didn't even give them fresh water, everyone was so thirsty! They didn't even cut the damn cake I had to go in the restaurant to find waiter or waitress to cut the cake! Horrible ,horrendous, service!!!!!!! Everyone of my guests said the same they didn't even clean tables off during the party they didn't even give clean forks for the dessert . They couldn't accommodate 78 guests comfortably, it was so tight after I went there at least 3 times to work it out and they assured me it would fit and be comfortable. I had to concentrate on serving my guests running after waiters to get them water soda and drinks the whole time . They couldn't keep up with the food. The second batch of chicken and pancakes were raw. I called to complain and they felt they did nothing wrong and what's the sense in complaining when the party is over was my response . I asked to speak to the Owner and he never called me. I am beyond upset and outraged by this place. Don't ever have a party here . Still waiting to hear from the Owner. Went for restaurant week and would say the food was okay. The serving size was average but expected that with a pre determined meal. We were not blown away with any course. Have had similar or better elsewhere. I will say the place is beautiful, very large bar area. Valet took the car immediately but neglected to advise pick up is on opposite side of building. I personally was covered with lint from the napkin upon leaving - not happy with that. If you want sushi or fish people next to us loved that but felt the same about the meal. Had a gift card for 100 $ went with another couple , the place was nicely decorated , the bar huge . It was 645 reservations on a Friday night . In about an hour the place was packed. My appetizer was great I got the tempura artichoke hearts , it was great , from there on it was down hill. I ordered the chicken artichoke heart pasta, the angel hair pasta was so over cooked and the chicken smelled spoiled . I couldn't even smell it I had the waiter take it away . The service was atrocious , I sat with the untouched plate in front of me for ten minutes . Then I was starving and ordered the Elvis desert . Oh my god it was gross . They ruined Christmas Eve! I made a 6:15 reservation and was seated at 6:10, great start right? That's where it ended. Our drink order wasn't taken until 6:45, dinner order at 7:00. The salads came relatively quickly but the calamari was under cooked and like rubber, replaced with a salad but still charged for the calamari. Then we waited, waited and waited some more. I had my 3 year old granddaughter with us so that's why the reservation was made early, Santa was coming! By they way did I mention our poor server had 8 tables all 5+ to cover. We begged from more bread, took forever to get second round of sodas! Not mixed drinks, just soda! I spoke with the hostess about this issue her response, we are short handed in the kitchen! It was a limited menu as well, unreal. Our food finally arrived around 8:30 I barely remember it because we scoffed it down. It wasn't huge a small filet, a spoonful of mashed potatoes and some mixed vegetables, nothing difficult. No time for dessert, we would probably still be sitting waiting. The bill was almost $300 for the worst dining experience of all time! Not even an apology from the management that steered clear of all of the larger tables that night hanging specifically by a small party of 4 on the far side of the dining room. My friends and I drive quite a ways to go there and really wanted to like it. It's decorated exquisitely and appears to be a high-end establishment. Unfortunately, everything from a-z was poor. We ordered happy hour drinks at the bar, and NONE of the three bartenders knew anything about what drinks were included- or how to make them! My friend ordered a sea-breeze and got served Malibu and pineapple. The young bartenders had to ask how to make it. They had no change (I paid with a $50), and one of them asked if the remaining change on the bar was for her. How embarrassing! Dinner was worse. There was one other couple in the dining area. The three of us waited 20 minutes to order and were not given the prix-fix menu. When we asked for one, a bunch of workers huddled together as if they had no idea what we were talking about. Eventually, someone brought us one menu. Our appetizers took 20 minutes to come out. My friend said the mac-n'-cheese was the worst she's ever had. My sushi roll was okay. We waited 30 more minutes for the plates to be cleared and another 10 for the salads (which were good). We ordered the scallops for dinner, and I kid you not, there were 2 on the plate with 4 asparagus stems. That's it! 2 scallops??? It was barely an appetizer portion. Dessert was chef's choice-- a chocolate cake that tasted like it had sat in the fridge too long and needed to be warmed up. The waiter was bland- service not to be remembered. Went here for a graduation lunch. sunday afternoon, 2 pm. one other large (10) party, and maybe 2 other couples. arrived before the rest of our party, and sat waiting for 20 minutes before anyone came and offered us water or bread. While food was mediocre at best, service was terrible. Waited over 2 hours to get entrees. A sushi plate sat so long on the bar there was literally a puddle in the bowl when it got to the table (served over ice - who does that?). Blame it on a table for 13, but the restaurant was completely empty for most of the THREE HOURS that we were there. (They were setting up for an event in another room, but if you can't handle the business, don't book the party). All the while the music blasted as if it were some kind of bar-scene. What A DISAPPOINTMENT! Reservations for four, at 8:00 p.m on Christmas Eve. Arrived a bit early. Went to bar. Bartender less than friendly and slow to even acknowledge us. Finally seated. Served water and bread by busgirl. Sat for close to ONE HOUR with NO waitress, no one coming to our table. No acknowledgment whatsoever. We had to go to bar to get our own drinks. Looking around at other tables people seemed annoyed and were obviously having the same issue. One employee, perhaps an owner or manager was more interested in doing shots with customers in the bar area than seeing to all the diners who were not being waited on. Should have been "All Hands on Deck". After close to an hour without anyone coming to our table we decided to leave. As we were leaving the Hostess thanked us for coming and wished us a good evening. She had NO IDEA that we had never been served. What a shame. We have eaten here on several other occasions and had favorable visits. Ok , so this is how the day started at this restaurant , the line was out the door for the 3:30 wave of Thanksgiving diners, my daughter needed to use the bathroom , all three bathrooms were overflowing and fecal matter was all over the floor . They continued to allow guest in, the lines for the buffets were ridiculous , they had so many people and two small stations for food . When we finally got to the buffer the essential food items were gone. On the dinner buffet the portions they were serving were embarrassing small, especially for thanksgiving. The management was overwhelmed , poorly laid out , and sadly not worth the money. In was a complete rip off, I didn't even get $40. Worth of food... The only positive thing I have to say is that the young wait staff were really hustling. We had to go there due to an ailing family member , but will not go back, even for a regular meal, it's just not that tasty. read more

All the servers seemed to be hanging out in the kitchen talking instead of paying attention to their tables (the place wasn't crowded). I wanted another martini and had to wait almost 15 minutes for the server to return. As far as ambience goes, some better lighting in the dining room and maybe some nice music would help. Went there Friday 2/8 after we valeted our car we walked in the door at 7:15 was immediately stoped at the door by a bouncer named Ray asking if we had a reservation replied to him " No we are coming for dinner and meeting with friends " He aggressively responded and argue with us if you don't have a reservation it's a $10 cover! " He continued to ague with my husband and myself about paying this cover until I walked in to see the hostess myself asking his name and if we could be seated. We are a married couple meeting with other friends spending a Friday night out for what we thought to be a nice dinner. I have NEVER in my life walked into what is suppose to be a dining experience and asked to pay a cover! All said and done a band had just walked in as we did and began to set up to play that night in the bar area so that had answered questions we were asking about a cover charge? As we were FINALLY leaving at 10:00 the band had started their 1st song. 7:00 on a Friday night is your dinner crowd there is absolutely ZERO reason to have a bouncer and aggressively RUDE bouncer greeting your customer base at the door refusing entry if a reservation is not made or pay a cover charge for a band when they came in to dine. It is absolutely inappropriate to ask for a cover charge at 7:15 at night from your dinner crowd when you have a band starting at 10:00! 1st and last time I will ever walk into this restaurant!!! read more

Food 9/10, Service 1/10. I planned a nice night out for my friends and I to get together, plus it was restaurant week so we were all excited to try Ristegios for the first time. Unfortunately, our service was horrible. Our server took a very long time to get our drinks and 35 minutes to even take our food order. When taking our order she seemed impatient and annoyed as well. After waiting 35 minutes to place our food order, it took about an hour and a half for our food to come out and the manager did not even come over to speak with our table or accommodate us for the inconvenience. I work in the food industry as a server/bartender so I am very patient when it comes to service else where but this service was on a different level of disappointment. Our server was also gone for long periods at a time and was nowhere to be found when we needed something, we had to ask 3 different workers for things that we needed. When it came to dessert, the server took a long time to take our order as well. After the server finally took our dessert order plus cappuccinos, our cappuccinos came out first and one had no espresso in it and was brought to us with just milk and foam so we had to send it back by telling a different server since ours never came back to our table. Finally, dessert came out after 15-20 minutes of waiting with no explanation as to why and no apology from our server or a manager. Since we waited so long for our dessert, which we wanted with our cappuccinos, my friends and I did not even have an appetite anymore to eat it. Overall, the server seemed miserable the whole time (did not even smile once) and I have never experienced such poor service anywhere, it truly was a huge let down for my friends and I and we all agreed that we would not return to Ristegios again. read more

Great spot for a first date! It had a laid back, classy feel. I was so nervous but our server actually helped ease my nerves while my date was in the bathroom! Our server was Brianna, and she was fun, enjoyable and very attentive, knew the menu, and made excellent recommendations which we both enjoyed, and overall, made our visit and first date perfect! We like to dine and drink at the bar and one stool became available, my husband took a stool from a table which was ripped from his hands by the "thug" who works as a bouncer. Went here for the Thanksgiving Day buffet.......big mistake. The food was good, not great. The way it was set up was ridiculous and we had to wait in line for 25 minutes to get our dinner. The stuffing (my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner) was disgusting! Not one person in our vicinity liked it! Dessert was NOT buffet style (you were allowed one item and it was VERY SMALL) and honestly was not very good. Like the dessert, the cappuccino left a lot to be desired. I think they were more interested in cramming as many people in as possible, vs making it an enjoyable experience for patrons. The servers were frazzled and we saw them 3 times...45 minutes after seating to get me a wine, once to get dessert order and next to give us the bill. Highly recommend! Even with all the restaurants in downtown Patchogue, there are really no "fine dining" establishments. This place fills that gap. Valet parking, beautiful building and decor, Friendly attentive staff, (especially our waiter, William), great vibe, and most importantly the food! Without a doubt the best short ribs I have ever tasted. The prices are higher than most other places in Patchogue, so this is not someplace I would go to regularly. This review is actually late in coming. I ate here for the first time in December. Date night for me and hubby. The restaurant is beautiful. The night we ate, it was very quiet. Only a few people at tables and the bar had a handful of people. The food was okay. Temperature and taste were fine but nothing to write home about. What really bothered me was the lack of attention from our waitress. Once we had our food, we barely saw her and we waited a good 15 minutes after we were clearly done with our meals for the check. The service clearly lacks compared to the rather high price tag on the food. Would not and won't be going back. read more
