My husband had been craving barbecue, but because I'm on a pescatarian diet. It is hard for us to go to a restaurant where I can eat too. Riscky's has catfish and barbecue, so, you know, we had to try it out. So I want to call out that we went by the other two locations.The one downtown and the one in the stockyards, but parking was ridiculous.So we didn't even try to go in.This was our final try, and I wish we had come here first. They have their own parking lot. It was not super busy when we got there. And our waitress Stephanie gave us top-notch service. I did the catfish platter that came with two pieces of smoked catfish, and you get a total of three sides. My husband got the all you could eat ribs and my kid got a sandwich that had a whole bunch of meat on it. For the price, the amount of food you get is amazing. The platter was $25. The all you could eat ribs was only $20 and you got 2 sides and the sandwich, I think was $15. We all had so much food, we had to take it to go and they also have a full bar. My daughter loved her sandwich. We also all really liked the fries and the mashed potatoes were good too. My husband thought the ribs were okay, but because he also cooks barbecue, he is a little bit of a snob, so he thought he could cook them better, but he loved his side of okra. Now, my catfish was amazing. It was cooked perfectly. It had an awesome texture, I could taste the smokiness. My third side was coleslaw, and it was pretty good too. I would come back just to get my food to go because of how good the catfish was. I could see myself coming here at least once a month. So I can get my catfish fix! read more

Not our first visit to a Riscky's but my husband wanted to take me to the location his GrandDad took him to as a kid. After an hour drive, we both arrived very hungry. This location has officially ruined it for the other restaurants. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. Friendly staff. We enjoyed looking at all the antiques while we waited for our food. Their sliced brisket sandwiches are unmatched. Absolutely delicious!! Better than any of the other locations. 10/10 recommend! This will be our go to. One of my favorite things about Riscky's is they serve their BBQ sauce in bottles that are warmed. Oh man!! Perfection! And don't forget to get your Riscky's cup. Decided to come here for dinner (730ish) during the week, that's an hour drive for us. Pulled up and chairs are ontop of the tables and there's city signs posted on the door. I didn't stop to get out and read them as it was heavily raining. I am extremely upset their hours have not been updated anywhere..or even a notice of permanent or temporary closure. read more

I tried Riskey's on a whim as I passed it while on Camb Bowie Rd. The delicious smell of the atmosphere surrounding the store drew me into doing a U-turn. I ordered the Full Smoker, Ribs, Brisket and Turkey, three sides with bread pickles onions and Jalapenos. Service was spot on. Fast, friendly and accurate. Such a huge amount of fantastic food. I was introduced to this BBQ from a work function catered by Riscky's a month ago. I have heard of them for quite some time but never got around to eating here. Car is at a muffler shop a block away. Why not stop in? As soon as you see this place you are reminded a a small tow country store. The kind that used to sell both Coke and milk..... In glass bottles. That far back. Rustic charm abounds. Antinue nic nacs stock the shelves. The smell of smoke wafting throughout the store reminds you this place has greater purpose... smokes meats. Just a bit of time for a hot link basket. The food truly compliments the decor, awesome. I had shoestring fries with the order and instead of ketchup drizzled them with thier signature sauce. It was really like no sauce I have made or tasted. Really. The sauce was sweet, tangy, extraordinary. The store is situated in Fort Worths historic Northside. Old city charm. A mix of family homes and businesses and in the middle of this sits Riscky's. The service, super friendly, warm. Service was pretty fast as well. Well worth a 5 star review. We popped into this little old barbecue place on Azle the first night in Fort Worth and what a treat! Amazing food and the manager, Chase Speed and counter man Michael Jackson were friendly and took time to make us welcome, even though they were minutes away from closing. The brisket and fries were delish and we went back for more every day of our visit. We did go to the Risckys in Sundance Square and had the all you can eat ribs. They were melt in your mouth delish. You can't go wrong with this barbecue. Had the '5 for 5' chopped brisket sandwiches-they did not disappoint! Delish! We'll be back! Thanks guys read more

I have been coming here over 65 years. We've lived in the neighborhood 74 years. Have never had a bad meal here. My dad would walk me here when I 4-5 years old. Im 74 now. I've had everything on the menu from hamburger to ribs, and BBQ chicken. There is only one thing I don't care for are the beans. Not because they're not good. But I ate frijoles at home. Their potato salad is delicious. Beer, I don't drink anymore, daughter doesn't allow it. But the sweet tea is delicious, especially in the Texas 9month summer. This location doesn't seem to get as much love as the others...maybe because it is not in the greatest neighborhood. Who knows? I picked it BECAUSE it looked like it wasn't in a hip neighborhood and it might be possible to park there at lunch time on a Friday without too much fuss. And I was right, they had a parking lot, and it had space in it. Success! But what about the food, you ask? What's the use of parking if the food is crappy? Well, the food is not crappy. My love and I each ordered the "Giant Beef Rib Special" which comes with 5 beef ribs and fries for $6.99. You can't beat that with a stick. It also comes with buttered and toasted Texas toast (not a half-hearted sad and nearly soggy slice of white bread like most places give you), a pickle spear and some sliced onion. Not knowing how much food they would give me for a measly $7, we also ordered sides - one small macaroni salad (well, I ordered potato salad but they gave me macaroni salad) and one small side of pinto beans. I didn't correct them on their mistake because I figured, if the BBQ was good I could try the potato salad next time. This was a LOT of food. I ate 4 out of 5 ribs, a little over half the fries and about half the macaroni salad and I was stuffed. Dear Honey ate about the same amount of his meal. The ribs were not the best that I have had (that honor goes to Saltlick BBQ which is down near Austin and way too far to drive for lunch) but they were decent. The BBQ sauce is surprisingly sweet but I liked it. The fries were good, fresh, seasoned with salt and pepper and fried just right. The macaroni salad was homemade and fresh and didn't have the rancid storebought macaroni salad taste, I quite liked it even though I really didn't have room for it in the tummeh. I took a bite of the beans, they were ok, but nothing exciting. We packed a to-go box with the two left over ribs and leftover macaroni salad - this will make a nice 'normal' sized lunch for me sometime soon. Their regular prices are quite good as well - $3.99 for various sandwiches, most of the meat plates $7.99 or $8.99, and amazingly cheap family packs. We could bring the kids here on a weekend and probably get out for under $30 if we share sides and they order sandwiches as they are usually wont to do. This was a great find! read more

Very disappointed, I visited riskys today to place an order to go. I was waiting for about 30 minutes without getting my order. Everyone else that got there after me received there order. When I went to check in to see where my order was at one of the girls said they were working on it. 10 more minutes pass by and more people show up order and get there food then leave. At this point I was very frustrated and I went up to demand a refund. They were never even making my order. The manager I'm guessing did give me a refund and still had my food made in the next 5 minutes. Overall I was very disappointed. Do better next time riskys. read more

I'm giving this place 1 star for the cool antique decor and 1 star for their BBQ.. I've been to many barbecue places..and honestly this place was a disappointment. I'm very confused how this place got great reviews even on google. Maybe we came here on an off day ...but the food was not good. We ordered sliced brisket, fried pickles and a side of potato salad. The brisket was dry and obviously had been reheated in a microwave..or been sitting under a heat lamp for atleast a day.. Such a shame to do that to brisket.. I shouldve known better when we walked in and I noticed that they don't have an assembly line set up like most bbq joints do. I enjoy watching my meat being cut fresh and weighed in front of me..especially when you're paying by weight. This place doesnt do that. They give you number, you sit and wait for your number to be called...so basically they're heating your food up in a microwave in the back somewhere so you can't see. The fried pickles were OK. Really the only part of the meal that I somewhat enjoyed. The potato salad was terrible. Way too much mustard. It wasn't even scooped fresh into a bowl. It's a few blocks from where I grew up, even though I have traveled the world since (including Lockhart & Austin, TX, which I consider #1 in the world for BBQ.) I have to admit that I always get the same thing: rib basket with fries and a sweet tea. It is obvious that the ribs were smoked over a long period of time, because of the outside char plus the consistency and juiciness of the rib meat. I ate here last Friday night with 4 other family members. I had the sliced brisket sandwich which was quite good. All of us were enjoying our meals until about midway when we began to smell an extremely pungent odor of disinfectant /cleaner. I then saw an employee come out of the restroom area with a mop & bucket which he pushed through the restaurant . Riscky's on Blvd 26 in North Richland Hills is HELL. It has been run by incompetent managers for at least the last 2 years. Each time I visit, they leave something out. Also, the last time I ordered from them, I ordered the special (meat, side and a drink). I ordered double fries, thinking that the special had 2 sides. Then the woman who took the order asked what I would like to drink, IMPLYING THAT THE DOUBLE FRIES WERENT AN ISSUE. When we went to pick up the food, the manager WALKED AWAY from the front counter as we approached it. We waited a minute and then an employee asked if we had been helped and REFUSED to serve what we had ordered and instead gave my husband a cup and said, "We'll y'all can share it". When I asked to speak with the manager, the employee rudely said, "She's kinda busy right now". We left and when I called back later to speak with the manager, I got an extremely curt woman named Chrissy who obviously has no idea about phone etiquette because when she answered the phone she just said "hello?" Then she said she was the "manager on duty" but she was the woman who had taken my order and made the original mistake.
