We were here for literally 10 mins. My children and I were seated next to some drunk guys who were smoking. We asked if we could move to another table. The server said no because there wasn't a server for that area even though other ppl were in that section. We asked for another table that was far in the back her response was it was for someone else even though no one was seated there while we were waiting. I had never ever felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed like I felt coming here. My family and I are Hispanic, I don't know if this was why we were treated in this way. Sometimes the simplest things mean the most. My wife and I were seated and almost immediately the manager approached our table noticing that I was watching a basketball game on my phone. He asked what game and preceded to tune the closest tv to the broadcast, turned up the volume, and even tilted the screen toward me! Then our waitress Shayna came to help us and she could not have been more pleasant, personable, and professional. She was taking care of 8 tables simultaneously and everyone seemed very well served. Wanted to try somewhere we've never ate before so we invited three of our closest friends to join!! (they've never eaten here either). Service was okay until we got our food. Soon as we received our food service became almost non existent. Our friends mahi was super super dry and almost zero flavor- same with her coleslaw (flavor wise) . No big deal just kind of disappointed I paid 30$ for 3 pieces of little steak. Ambiance was quiet not very welcoming & all workers seemed miserable. Probably one of the best restaurants in the Daytona/Ormond Beach area. Friendly service, making you feel like you are part of a family. The seafood is top notch, especially the oysters (and I work on an oyster boat up North). The seating is either air conditioned or au natural on the deck (albeit with huge fans and misting for those hot July days). Couple that with reasonable prices and a free refill of your favorite beer on your next visit (bring your glass back for this), this one is a winner read more

Our server, Bradley, was fantastic! We had a large group, and several...picky/finicky tastes. He was super patient and explained the menu/items to them. He went out of his way to be friendly and attentive to our group, and made great personal recommendations. The eggrolls were fantastic. Best eggrolls we ever had. The stuffed grouper was phenomenal, and the seafood curry was delicious. a lot to eat. We had to take half of it home. Went here because we heard the oysters were really good. Ordered the baked oysters and they were not good at all which was disappointing. The crab legs were really good though and would come back just for the the crab legs. Our waiter was also the bartender so the service was kind of slow. They had a plane flying over the beach with the advertisement all u can eat crab $49 so I was expecting quality products. However, the crabs were the worst I ever had. The quality was a few steps below all you can eat crab at Chinese buffets. They were cheewy and tasted like bad fish and had black spots on the shell so must be old or over frozen. We always have dinner at Riptides when we visit Ormond Beach and it never disappoints. Got off to a slow start with our server due to some confusion about who had what table. However, Austin was quickly able to rectify the situation and we received excellent service with our drinks never running dry. Our table had the key lime and coconut shrimp, as well as, the chicken sandwich and grouper. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend eating here if you're in the area. Go early if you don't want to wait and hour+. read more

This would've been a horrible review but the second visit they stepped up their game beyond belief. The first visit was ok and it started with us being part of a large group. The food was adequate at best. We started with gator bites that we're sautéed and were really good. I ordered the snapper sandwich and red beans/rice, my wife order snapper tacos. This fish was horrible and rubbery on both dishes and the red beans/rice did not have flavor. Afterwards, my card was ran 4 times and I actually passed for someone else's in the group. This is where they showed how a restaurant is actually supposed to be ran. I called about the card charges, which I found out from my bank app the next day. Chris was and is still amazing. I stopped in and he totally understood all my problems and was very apologetic. He took my info, followed with a call later that afternoon, and gave us a gift card for all the trouble to come back and try it again. I would've did this without the gift card, but it was a great gesture. We went back for a second time then a third. Service was beyond great and the food was absolutely awesome. We tried some different appetizers and then the fish was prepared perfectly. To say the least, this has turned out to be our go to in Daytona Beach. Can't wait for the next visit. This place is not a tourist trap of over priced food, grumpy staff, but a truly local customer oriented restaurant. I'd be here every night if I lived remotely close. Worst experience I've ever had! Went to the bar and set down and no one waited on us or acknowledged that we were sitting there. We waited a while they waited on other people that came to the bar. We finally waved our hands in the air and one of the bar tenders told us that they had a missing $100 check and that was more important then their customers. He also said the others were new. He was very rude. Called the manager and didn't get mush more from her. This is the worst customer service ever!!! Don't go there! read more

We enjoyed the first version of crab dip, the most. Especially with the Rips Habanero Sauce. Even with the second one, I was okay......but no Crab dip? That's just wrong! Favorite dinner spot so far on vacation! I had the Mai Tai rum bucket, the table split the shrimp and avocado spring rolls appetizer (3 spring rolls cut in half so 6 pieces) which was SO GOOD, and for my entree I got the citrus avocado grouper and added a 1/2 lb of snow crab legs for $11. Oh my goodness, I ate the snow crab legs first and was in heaven and thought it couldn't get any better than this but then I tried the fish and it was AMAZING and the avocado sauce over it was so good. We're thinking of going back another night before we leave to go back home and I'm probably going to get the all you can eat snow crab legs! read more

Very busy with a long wait to be seated. The live music was very good. Food was good. I ordered crab legs and found them tasty, but difficult to get out of the shells. Also were extremely watery. I usually am able to get meat from snow crab legs very easily without the use of tools, but only had 2 legs out of 1-1/2 pounds that came out by just being cracked. The meat stuck to the shells on all of the rest, including the claw. I'm not sure if over cooking or under cooking causes this, but it took considerably more time to eat because of the extra work involved. My wife ordered the marinated steak tips. The flavor was terrific, but they were a little overdone. Not to the extent of having to send them back or complain, just a side note. Ordered them as medium well and they were definitely well. Would order Medium next time. Server was terrific. She came by our table regularly to make sure everything was good and she was very friendly and calm. Would come here again, but not sure I'd order the crab legs again. read more

On top of the great food, the live music was amazing and kept the dining experience laid back and fun. Now although these two attributes really kept me impressed with the restaurant; there is one thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star review... The service. The waiters and waitresses were very kind and helpful once you got ahold of them. Our table was not visited often by the servers and you could hear constant slurping of the kids empty drinks with no one making an effort to refill them. Now once you asked a server; they were ready to help but I believe that if they would have been more alert and noticed problem before a costumer and to tell them; I would have given this restaurant 5 stars. read more
