I bought a swimsuit two days ago at this store. Because they had big sale, so it was busy. I didn't try it on. But when I got home to try it. It is kind of big. I took it back to exchange it. But the casher told me me it is final sale. He won't let me exchange, even it has all oringal tags on, and the receipt. He is just very mean, kept saying it is the policy... I read their policy, it says I can return or exchange in 30days, which it is common for all the bussiness I think. But this casher just won't me exchange. The swimsuit is not clearance, not the red tag item. I just can't understand why I couldn't exchange to the right size!!! I would never go there again! I really love this place, but I've found that it can be very hit or miss since it's an outlet. When there's a good sale, the deals to be had are AMAZING. I got a 3/2 fullsuit for like 50 bucks. I didn't even need another one at the time, but how you gonna say no to that? I also love buying booties here, if you come at a time when they have your size the deals are phenomenal, I usually pay $60+ for booties full price but they'll have them here for 15 bucks sometimes but they go fast. The staff here is also super helpful, if you're new to wetsuits and need help with wetsuit sizing or anywhere else they're always happy to help. The fitting rooms are large and spacious as well, which if you've ever tried on a wetsuit before you know that you want a lot of space to move around. Besides wetsuits and surf gear they have both men and women's apparel along with accessories such as watches, hats, bags, etc. The store is well maintained and well kept, and parking is easy right behind the store. The only downside is that their stock is always constantly changing, so you never really know if they'll have your size of what you want. I've found great deals on apparel and misc accessories, but other times I'll come by and there's no sales and the prices aren't too different from what you'd find at a regular non outlet store or they won't have my size in anything I want. If you're passing through the area, it's definitely worth it to stop by to see what they have. If they don't, come back another time because they'll probably have new inventory. read more

This used to be a cool place for deals. Now it's pretty trendy and the prices are about 20%-30% off retail. There's tons of surf trunks and shorts. The selection is awesome if you like Ripcurl stuff. The wetsuits are really good deal. There's a million bikinis, but mostly geared toward the cheeky gang. Cute sundresses! There's plenty of hats, sunscreen and beach gear. Stay away from rip curl wetsuits if you want them to last more than 1 season. I purchased 2 flash bombs over the past 2 years hoping they would last for multiple seasons, unfortunately they BOTH started leaking In the crotch area within a year and progressively worsened the next. I sent one in for warranty work assuming it would be taken care of. Nope, the lady said it was a liquid seam failure and not covered under the 3 year seam warranty? Now I have around 700$ worth of leaky wetsuits.. oh well.. lesson learned. read more

As much as possible, I try to always patronize my local surf shops. That said, you really can't beat the prices at this place, especially when you blow through suits and gear each season like I do. The Rip Curl Outlet Store has an excellent selection of surfing gear, at terrific discounts. I also have to agree that the staff here is really knowledgeable and helpful. The trick is to know in advance what exactly it is you are shopping for. You can even call ahead and, if they have it, they will put it on "hold" for you. AWESOME! read more

This is not the place it used to be. You might save 20 percent. Their covid rules are ridiculous. Expect to wait at-least 45 min to get in. They literally allow 8 people in the store even though it is large and has an a large occupancy. Not worth the time. You can do better online. read more

We usually LOVE Rip Curl. However, I was extremely disappointed at how I was treated today. My husband (Caucasian) and I (Asian) walked in. Both of us had our mask on. As soon as I walked in I noticed a family of four (Caucasian), shopping doing their own thing, no mask on, no problem. They were going through the women section, shuffling through the rack. I see all the employees at the cashwrap and working in the front section. So, I was like sweet, we aren't required to wear masks here so I took mine off. We went straight to the wetsuit section in the back and then walked to the men section. As my husband was looking though the jackets, I'm still wandering around the store. I see the family gather their items and they're about to check out, still no mask on any of them. One of the employees (who I noticed at the front of the store working the same section the family was shopping in) came up to me and asked me to put my mask on...WHAT?! Excuse me?! Why are you only telling me to put my mask on when you were with that other family and didn't tell them to put their mask on?! My husband overheard the gentleman tell me something and I was livid. I asked the employee, how are you going to say something to me and not to them? But he quickly ran off to the back of the store and didn't answer me. We left the store, didn't care to make a purchase. For sure, never going back to this location since they're ok with discriminating people. I still love Ripcurl because I've never been treated like this elsewhere. And I do standby their products. But not by their people at this specific location. read more

It may be a bit of a drive, but boy, was this place worth it. It's the Rip Curl Outlet store, and I just bought a brand new (albeit last season model) wetsuit for $139.00. The prices on the stuff here are fantastic. Selection didn't seem to a problem, either - a whole wall full of wetuits, tons of different sizes. They also sold stuff other than wetsuits - pretty much everything rip curl makes. Bathing suits, shirts, boots... everything. The staff seemd to know what they were about, even though they are all pretty young. Seriously, I think this place was being run by 16 year olds. read more

I love coming here to find great deals. I saw a great Rip Curl bikini at a local surf shop that I loved, but it had a hefty price tag. Went up to San Clemente to take a look at suits and they had the same one - 2 for $30. Walked out of there with the same suit for $30! Husby likes to head here for t-shirts. They're $15 each for basic Rip Curl branded shirts and usually BOGO half off. Always a great deal. Only thing that bugs me is that they don't always have a lot of stuff in my size. I must just be the size that sells out :( Same with shoes. read more

I'm surprised there are not more reviews. I've been here about 8 times. Its an easy stop on the way between LA and SD. Avoid the clearance sales, which are pretty much off the hook price wise; unfortunately, for this discount, you will be in a club sized building with as many people as a New Years night in the gaslamp, but there will be no beer. You will wait an hour in line, for fitting rooms and for the register, but you will be paying 30c on the dollar. Regular days there will be 6 people in the store with 1/2 of them being employees. Good Tunes, good vibe, good prices. There are a slim amount of men's shorts around 29 bucks, board shorts19 bucks, t-shirts, hoodies, flip flops. This past trip I got a pair of flojo style sandals, a pair of cargo shorts, 2 pair of board shorts, and this was 60 bucks. Worth the trip. read more

Great mini outlet for beach wear. On the way home from my bf's family christmas travel, we stopped by Rip curl outlet to grab a few board shorts and Tee's for him and a tank and vans shoes for me. That day they were having a buy 1 get 1 50% off. Board shorts for men and walking shorts ranges from $20-40 which is a great deal since many board shorts run from $50-60 retail prices. Women's clothes were going from $10-50, there were many bikini on sales anything beach related you can find there. I recommend coming here to save on beach wear or the go to spot to grab must needed items before a beach vacation to save money. read more

I actually live in San Diego which is about a hour away from this Rip Curl store location in San Clemente but the size / dims surf board I was looking for could not be found in San Diego at the time but this store had what I needed. I phone called the store and got a hold of Joey and I explained my situation of hoping to have everything there so I do not waste my trip up. He connected me with the James the store manager. James gave me about a good 15-20 minutes of his time over the phone to explain his experience with the surfboard and to make sure I purchased the one with the right dimensions. Basically they coordinated and had two sizes of the board just so I can get a feel of which one would be the perfect fit. Once everything was set up I made a trip up to the store and Joey and James were as nice and helpful as they were over the phone. I walked out as a 100% satisfied customer and I I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this store for people locally or from someone traveling from San Diego. read more

I've been a customer here for years, but I bought a pair of pants last week and I decided I wanted a different fit. Pants were unworn, unwashed, but I did not have a receipt. Male Employee upfront said he couldn't return them but I could exchange them. I reproached the counter and a female employee then told me I could no longer exchange my pants because I did not have tags. She was incredibly rude about the pants situation and handed the pants back to me without any comment. That is the absolute last time I go into that store. I stopped in to by a broad brimmed beach hat. The young woman at the counter, Gezelle, told me that they had discontinued them and referred me to the Hobie store a couple miles away. At the Hobie store the woman there didn't have any either but called around to local surf shops and was only able to locate some at the rip curl shop. She described them and Gezelle said they had a wide selection and multiple colors. She said she would have them waiting On the counter for me when I got there. I drove back to rip curl and she pointed me to the corner o the upstairs to some completely different hats and said that was all they had. Hire adults that care about customer service.
