I'm 65 in Southern California, and never got into the water the 25 years I've been living here. Always thought I was too old. Been watching the guys & waves at the wedge for a while. Not the type of girl to sit on the sidelines. Braved some waves around 15th with swim fins and decided I needed to just get out there and go. (Quite intimidating when you're less than 5ft and the waves are 3-4+). After much researching I decided Ebodyboarding.com was the place to go. Been bodyboarding since 1994 and always take care of my gear after use ... be it body boarding, cycling, or snowboarding. I've had the Viper V7 fins forever and they are still in excellent condition, but who doesn't love new gear right? Decided on MS Viper Swimfins, but bought them originally on Amazon. They came and were a bit snug so decided to pay their shop a visit in San Clemente to exchange for a larger size. The minute I walked in I was greeted with some amazing people - genuinely friendly and helpful. The girl that greeted me walked me into the warehouse and went over the color options in my size. She told me to try them on to make sure I had proper fitment. It's a bodyboarders candy store so I decided to get a Viper Fins hoodie while I was there. FYI they are licensed to print Viper Fins on any garment and they have a variety to select from. Former pro bodyboarders Jay and Vickie Reale are hands on owners. Jay did my exchange and he made it so easy ... I didn't even have to sign anything! We had a nice chat and I felt like I'd known him for years .... before you know it Vickie was done printing my hoodie. I normally surf Newport 40th St, but since I was already in San Clemente I asked what the local spot was ... they sent me to T Street and I had a good time even though it was small 1-2 FT. Their shop isn't huge compared to other sports but from I understand is one of the largest in the US. We wanted to buy our sons good body boards this year. So we trusted ebodyboarding and spent $400 on 2 boards. First, the boards arrived without the leashes installed, as they had promised us. More importantly, we only had the boards 2 weeks (2 trips to the beach) with normal use and sun exposure when one of the boards bubbled up. The other board was totally fine. I went into the shop today and picked up some sponge resin. It's a compound used to seal up dings on bodyguards. I love Jay and Vicky Reale the professional body boarding couple that owns the business. I watched both of them ride growing up. Decades later I enjoy purchasing my gear from them. She has to be one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever talked to about board construction. It's impressive. There are a lot of boards to choose from and it helps to pick the brain of someone who is around the many different board manufacturers and board models available in today's market. It could make your head spin. This is why someone like Gianna is so valuable! I also talked to her about how to use the resin product. She could have just said take the cap off and apply it. Instead I was told to submerge the unopened tube into warm water to get it to a more liquid consistency before applying.
