I ordered a custom pocket rocket on May 1, 2023 and was told it would take 8-10 weeks. I specifically ordered white fin boxes for both center and side Bites on several of my emails. I wound up with black for all 3. At the end of the 10th week I contacted them to ask about my board and was told they couldn't find it. Turns out it was incorrectly made and in the store as inventory. Good thing I checked otherwise I'd still be waiting. On July 15th they told me I would have a new board in a few weeks. At the end of the 3rd week on August 5th I asked if I could have it by August 16th for my birthday. No response! On August 8th I cancelled the build and received my $700 deposit back. On August 11th I get a text telling me the board just got delivered to the shop. Even though I had already purchased a Stewart, I went ahead and agreed to buy this one. After it arrived I noticed the black fin boxes and a hole on one of the Infinity lams. So I paid $1128 for a blemished board with the wrong color fin boxes. It wasn't custom at all. read more

My husband bought an E-ticket SUP based on a direct recommendation from Dave B. When it arrived no shipping damage was found but upon using the board my husband identified a defect that makes the board unacceptable. After several contacts without reply they eventually admitted it was a known manufacturing defect but only offered a 10% discount. I wouldn't waste time or money on these folks, especially considering my husband was a repeat customer. Knowingly selling a defective product is tantamount to fraud. Be careful out there. Guess we will have to let the bank card company do what they can. read more

Great place for rentals! They were actually out of boards by the time we got there (9am on a Saturday) but the workers were SO nice and they actually directed us to another surf shop. Was referred to Infinity from a friend who told me I couldn't go wrong in the custom board department. That was August 2010. My experience was so positive I have since ordered 4 custom boards. The team there has such great knowledge over such a wide breadth of shaping from short boards to "weird" boards to classic logs even pushing the R&D in the stand-up paddle surf realm. We love this place. I have purchased my 2nd SUP and all my SUP gear here and the service is impeccable. I have rented boards many times before I owned one (and now rent for my guests or when I have kids with me) and the service knocks the socks off of the others in the area. They are also open reliable hours which I really appreciate, as a few places I have gone to will rent some days but not others on no particular schedule. Todd helped me fix my fin issue on my SUP that I purchased from another store, and now by board rides really well. I had a fin about twice as long and also had it too far back on the board. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and often there are SUP racers in there when I go in on weekends. They sell all kinds of boards, including custom and consignment and multi-person boards. They also have quality sunglasses and SUP/surf gear including safety gear and straps. They have some bikinis and rash guards also. I just wanted to provide some more information because I felt like there weren't enough reviews on here for such a good place... I should get some more photos sometimes and post also. I am a big guy! started to surf a year ago and really struggled to find the right board. I bought 3 "big guy" boards from other shapers. I was ready to just give up. I would either have the needed float with not enough control or the boards were basically submarines. Then I went to the infinity shop and was looking around. I met Steve, his first words were "hey, I make really fun big guy boards". I asked a million questions and he had great answers. I basically explained my situation (skill level, struggles, and what I was hoping to accomplish). He said he could make a great board and I trusted him. a month later I went and picked up my custom board. The shop was great, everyone I met knew tons about surfing and gave lots of tips. I was still nervous about being disappointed once I got this thing in the water. Honestly, the first day I put it in the water was the best day of surfing I have ever had. I caught every wave I wanted, the board turned like a dream, and I actually looked like a surfer! it was amazing and I want to be in the water everyday now. I can't thank Steve and his team enough. Yes, Infinity's Rainmaker is my new MAGIC board. To me, they combined the best of two of my earlier Infinity boards, a 5' 8" Bandit and a 6' 1" performance fish, called the Mod Quad 10+ years ago. The Rainmaker feels natural and it turns effortlessly. Just look and go. For sizing reference, I am 6', 170 lb, and it is 5' 10". I am 56 yr old, but that just means I sleep more after surfing. read more

I bought my very first "new" board from infinity just after my senior year of high school (1998). I have hade many boards from Infinity over the years including stand up paddle boards. Their staff is the best. They all surf and they all know what they are talking about. As long as you are honest about your abilities and what you are looking for in a board they will get you dialed in on the right board for you. As for getting a deal like Larry was complaining about (I read his other reviews, he complaines a lot), the majority of their boards are hand shaped in America ad made to order, if you want a deal go buy a mass produced board from China, it will be cheap and surf like a cheap board. If you want a performance, hand shaped, American made board go see Steve Boehne or his doll of a wife and they make you an awesome board!! read more

I became familiar with Infinity Surf Shop about 15 years ago. I'm 6'6" and weigh about 210 lbs. I was looking for a good long board and wound up purchasing their Rad Noserider with 3" rails and 10'6" in length. After about 50 years of surfing, undoubtedly it was one of the best boards I have ever owned. About 5 years later, I had to retire from surfing at age 66. I purchased a knee board which was a complete waste. I tried body boarding but it was not my thing. I saw a video on waveskiing and was intrigued. I did some checking and found out that Steve Boehne at Infinity makes these boards. I came into the shop and we had a good conversation about waveskiis. He met me at Old Man's to demo one of the boards (don't demo a board that's too small for you) and I had a blast on his tandem ski. I was hooked and ordered a new rudder waveski from Steve about 3 years ago. I truly miss surfing but riding my waveski is just plain fun and a great substitute for surfing. And, a 4' wave is overhead! I've had to make a few changes to my ski and Steve is always there to help out. He stands by his products 100% and is a really good guy with lots of great stories. I highly recommend Infinity Surfboards and would give them 10 stars if I could. read more

Best surf shop ever! I showed up right at 6 PM when they close but they opened the door rather than giving me the closed sign. Was met by super cool and knowledgeable Infinity surf agent named Trevor B. He quickly reviewed my request for larger center fin to upgrade my board for bigger waves. Even though my fin box style was out of date, Trevor brought the Infinty experts together to remedy a solution. Within 5 mins the team found fin in back and saved the day. Thanks to Trevor and the infinity team, I am shredding the big waves better than before! I ordered a custom SUP with Steve. a 14' carbon fiber board 30' wide with all the newest "bells and whistles" on it including a controllable foot rudder. I was able to customized everything on it right down to the design or the colors. I am very very pleased with the results. The board has made a world difference out in the ocean. Love it. Long overdue to write a review for these guys. I have gotten two customs done over the past few years and love them both. I'm 6'5 215 so finding shortboards is always a challenge. I was pretty open to suggestions but generally knew the direction I wanted to go with both the boards and Dan Boehne nailed it both times. The 2nd board I got was a 5f. I got a 6'4 and got it glassed extra heavy. Unfortunately the first time I took it out which was a regular old chest high day, I almost snapped it in half. I didn't hit anything and the board was 3 inches thick so I was really pissed but chalked it up to bad luck. Took the board to get professionally fixed. A few days after getting it back from the repair shop I took it back out and broke it again in a different spot. Needless to say I was really frustrated as this was a custom board that I couldn't wait to get. I emailed Dan some pictures of the damage and was surprised to get an email back the same night. He let me know that he would talk to his dad and see what they could do to make things right. Next morning got another email letting me know they were going to make me a new custom as a free trade. Turned out the old board was a dud (bad foam- happens to the best of them). Got the new board about 5 weeks later and it has been awesome. I've had it for almost a year and it's my go-to. It's held up great too. I'm in San Diego but will be going up to Dana Point anytime I'm in the market for another board. They do business the right way. I'm a customer for life. read more

CONSUMER ALERT! While I have no issue with this shop as far as friendliness or expertise, and they build some great boards, but their return policy SUCKS and is not consumer-friendly. I purchased some Infinity-branded rack pads this week and had second thoughts after someone offered me a better solution for my needs. Two days later, I tried to return these pads that I had paid for with an ATM card (essentially cash) and still had my receipt. I did not even open the packaging. That is when I was informed they do not issue refunds, cash or even re-crediting the ATM card. My only option is a store credit. I was not informed of this policy at the time of my purchase, and that is why I am posting this review. This is the only store i have ever experienced that kind of return policy and I believe that is detrimental to building a good consumer relationship. Every other surf shop I have ever dealt with will refund you as long as you have your receipt and the product is unopened, unused or still in new condition for at least a reasonable amount of time. Infinity has their product back in its original, unopened packaging which they will turn around and sell again to someone else and I'm out $50+ dollars. Just make sure you do your homework and are 100% sure you get what you want, because there is no going back on your purchase decision here. I, for one, will not shop there again. That is, after I figure out what I'm going to spend my store credit on. Maybe I'll donate it to some grom that needs a rash guard and some wax that already spent their allowance. I guess my experience was a bit different that the others in this review. I ordered a 19' custom SUP for racing. I spent a lot of time talking with Steve Boehne over the phone and email about what I was looking for. He told me it would be no problem to design and shape a board for me. It took around 8 weeks to get it and with much anticipation and excitement I opened the well packaged board only to find the glassing a paint job to be completely subpar. It looked as if someone dragged it across a sandpaper floor and then simply painted over it. The shape and lines were perfect but the construction and quality was not worth the several thousands I spent on it. When I confronted he made several excuses on the quality. In his own words "YES, THERE ARE SEVERAL FLAWS IN THE FINISH. THIS IS MOSTLY BECAUSE THE BOARD IS SO LARGE THAT IT DOESN'T FIT INTO OUR GLASS SHOP. I USE THREE DIFFERANT GLASS SHOPS TO GLASS OUR RACE BOARDS. THE ONES THAT DO THE BEST QUALITY CANNOT GLASS A BOARD THAT LONG. IT JUST DOESN'T FIT INTO THEIR GLASSING ROOMS. YOUR BOARD DID NOT FIT INTO THE PAINTING ROOM, SO IT HAD TO BE PAINTED IN THE SANDING ROOM. I GUESS THESE ARE JUST EXCUSES, BUT THESE BIG BOARDS ARE EXTREEMLY HARD TO GET A GOOD FINISH ON. STEVE. Why offer a product you do not have to facilities to produce in the same quality and standards as the rest of your fleet. The fact he knowingly and admittedly could not do this is completely unprofessional. This should have been made known to me BEFORE i put the deposit down for the board. Just be careful with your decision to go with steve and his company. Caveat emptor. read more

The guys at Infinity are friendly and know how to match the right board with a surfer's abilities/interests. These guys are not interested in just selling you any board to make a buck. They care about you having the best possible experience in the water. I have purchased three of their boards over the last couple years. All three turned out to be a perfect match for what I was looking for in terms of surf conditions and my abilities at the time. I would highly recommend going to this shop and/or buying their boards. There are very few places where you can go and actually sit down and talk to the owner / shaper about the the custom board you want for your type of surfing . And you can actually watch him shape your board ! Very Cool ! Steve his sons and his staff are super friendly to all - from the beginner to the experienced surfer . Listen to their advice . This is why you deal with reputable shop!! I lost one FCS fin and didn't want to spend $155 for a whole new set. I called FCS and they said you can order one new fin from your local surf shop but we can't sale direct. I went to four shops and they all said we are corporate owned and we can't order individual fins...whatever that means Finally Killer Dana said the same thing but try Infinity up the street they can set you up with anything. Thought that was pretty cool of them to send business to a competitor. I went to Infinity and they made a few calls and got me what I wanted in only 3 days for less than what I expected to pay and two week sooner than FCS said it would take. I really do appreciate Infinity going out of their way for such a small order. It is really nice seeing a shop going the extra mile to help a customer. I am now a loyal customer!! Had ordered a production sup for a Mexico surf trip, and had been told it would be there on Monday. Tuesday came and drove up from San Diego to pick the board up. On my way got a call from Mel and she informed me that the board hadn't got delivered but would be there later that day. Went ahead into the shop to look and see if anything else would interest me but really had my sights set on the board I ordered. Mel informed me she would drive the board to my house in San Diego later that day!!! Amazing customer service. Surfed this morning on my new board and loved it. 9'0" x28" New Deal.
