Super trash surf board I bought new with this company name on it from play it again sports. The longboard had no paddling power, was not very buoyant or dimensions were just bad. By far the worst non water logged hardtop surfboard I've ridden (no contest out of 20 boards). I had been surfing for a couple years and after the second session, I knew there was something wrong with the board and not me. I decided to email the owners who only live 30 minutes from me and ask if I could do an exchange for a used board or return it and get a partial credit back. One of them responded and said to bring it to the shop and that his partner would help me out. So, I go to SJC and explain my story and the owner contradicted himself when he called it something from China and then called it quality a couple minutes later. He said the length was 9'4'' when it was 9'2'' (or vice versa), and then he said that I need to work on my paddling and that it was not the board's fault. To be fair the man was not originally from the USA, but this customer service was pretty abysmal. They could have just told me they were not going to refund me before I drove there, or the guy could have turned me around without making himself look ignorant. Anyway, DO NOT BUY A SURBOARD FROM BRUSURF. Do not be cheap like me and buy something from a local shaper, or a small shaper from CA. I think their paddleboards do not have an issue and that is their primary business. i would recommend that the business completely stops making surfboards for the greater good. I ended up selling the board for like 200 as opposed to the like 600 I bought it for because it just was not worth anything near that and I am ethically responsible unlike most people. I got pretty upset with the owner at the end of our conversation and told him do not worry, I will not write a bad review. Well, years later... I guess that is a lie and I decided to write a review just so no one has a bad experience trying to be cheap or getting into surfing because a business decided to cut corners. Surfing is a privilege that not every surfer really taps into and I want to be on the right side of history promoting the good and condemning the bad so that as many people who want a connection to the ocean and the outdoors can have that in peace. What I REALLY need was the SUP big enough to put my two daughters, including myself (Yep, three of us) all at once without sinking. When I got to the store, my SUV was not equipped with any gears to strap down the SUP purchased to safely transport it back home. Yes, he had to mollycoddle me. Lol. Sean called me and said he was heading up to Santa Cruz at the end of the week. I bought the orange 9' soft top online and Sean dropped it off at a local Santa Cruz shop on Friday! I put it together Saturday and hit the waves at Pleasure Point. Caught every wave I wanted. Don't waste 10 years of your life trying with a Wavestorm. Get the 9' soft top! Background if you have time: Took a surf class in Santa Cruz that used these boards. Had a blast catching wave after wave with ease using the BruSurf 9' soft top. I emailed BruSurf asking if the soft top comes with a leash. Sean said you need to buy it as an accessory. He also said he was coming up to Santa Cruz in a few days and could drop off a board for me if I wanted. I said I will buy one right now online. I did. Sean said he would have it for me in Santa Cruz Thursday-Friday. Sean coordinated with me on the phone and left it at a local shop. Summary is Sean and BruSurf are incredible. Sean was so worried that my plan to surf Friday might fail cause the shop he left the board at was closing early and he wanted to make sure I was on my way or if I wasn't, that I didn't drive 30 min and be surprised the shop was closed. You can feel how sad he was to learn I was unable to make it in time. Dude loves surfing and helping getting people out in the water.
