The Bird longboard, a Wild Bill mid length, and a Fartknocker SBD short board/groveler. Former Pro surfer Jeff Kramer went above and beyond figuring out the right boards for me at my age, level of physical fitness, and surfing skill ability. And, Eric the store owner, Jacob "Jack of all trades " were also extremely helpful. Jacob even helped me customize and install surfboard carrier racks on my e-Bike. Unbelievable!! 6.27.2025 The stoke continues!! I have now bought a total of 5 brand new boards from Stewart and love them so much! I've bought other popular trending brands of boards and they did not compare to Stewart. I sold them, ha ha, and bought these two new ones: The Bird 9'4 Longboard. Insane! Surfs and turns like a shortboard. So fun! Next step, learn to nose ride it. And not even officially released yet, the new Hydro Hull Fish. So sick! Since we were international travelers leaving the next day, we couldn't reschedule. Chris promised a refund but has been stalling for 5 months now, blaming his booking software 'Peek'. He has stopped responding to emails. If you are looking for a reliable surf school that honors its refund policy when they cancel on you, look elsewhere. Unprofessional and dishonest management.

There's something about this beach's vibes that transports you straight to the 80s. It's pretty inconvenient to visit and that might be the beauty of it. San Onofre is in the middle of nowhere, expensive to enter, and they only allow a limited number of cars in the parking lot at once. We actually waited over an hour to park. Because of the difficulties to enter, this beach feels like a protected oasis. It's a major hub for van-lifers and surfers. In fact, you might feel peer pressured to buy a van after your first visit. There's bathrooms and showers onsite, but otherwise it's a bit of a raw space. Most people seem to come early and set up their site for the entire day. Never change, San Onofre.

Pretty cool shop located in San Clemente near downtown area. We visit this city every year with my…read morefamily and this shopping area is one of our favorites to check out to get some items. I think almost everything here is on sale, which is pretty awesome. They have a lot of things to select from, for men, women, and kids. They also have a really great selection of surfing stuff, if that's something you're into. I definitely can't surf, but I do love all the clothes and bathing suits they have here. Probably one of the most affordable stores in this block of stores. The staff here is also always really nice, too. They have always helped with anything we have need, which is why we continue to come back year over year. Again, definitely a cheaper option if you're looking for some great beachy clothes in the area.

My son has done many camps over the years. This is the first one he ABSOLUTELY wanted to go back…read moreto. The pace is chill, there's a disciplined, not regimented, routine with plenty of "non-surfing", wholesome fun (projected movies, games, guitars, skit and talent shows, in the lounge tent). You don't need to have any experience surfing, or you can be a shredder. There's always instructors in the water that are willing to coach you or you can be left to your own talents/whims and do your own thing. They bring the boards as well as lunch all the way down to the beach for the kids and instructors to enjoy (it's a bit of a walk to get down there and I assume it's easier and more convenient to bring the lunch and gear to them). The boards provided are just fine. My son had his own wetsuit and booties so I can't comment on the wetsuits. I grew up in Southern California but we live In Austin, TX. I only mention this because we can't surf in the middle of Texas (generally)! Meaning, zero experience is ok here. There's no pressure to be the best, but there's definitely pressure to have a great time! And they do! The Camp Manager, Bart, is a fantastic guy from Australia that my son loves. He and his team of chill "Counselors" keep a chill vibe that makes this great thing happen. Kudos to Jason and his entire team surf/kid enthusiasts. I just completed a week long adult camp. My first surf experience at 69. I had a great time. Great…read morestaff. In a week of trying in pretty heavy conditions for a beginner and this time of year I never once felt unsafe or unprepared thanks to excellent instruction and help getting that big 9' board out and getting a big shove to catch each wave. I had only boogie boarded before and swam some in the ocean. And the last time I was on a boogie board was maybe twenty years prior. I'm now hooked and shopping for a board. Ethan was my constant coach. We had a small class so the coach/instructor to student was nearly one to one. Everyone on the staff were encouraging and really a pleasure to be around. All the campers were great to meet and talk with, laugh and surf. Great fun. I plan on attending every year. And surfing as much as I can fit in every week.
