She recommended a 6.5" fin, I learned that Bill Stewart invented with the 2+1 fin setup. I've owned 4 Stewart Surfboards over the years. I've always liked the beveled edge on the Stewart boards. They work as good as they look. they turn better than any board i've ever had. The Stewart/Leines family and everyone at the shop are very friendly, down to earth and pretty laid back. It's just a fun place to go, look at surfboards. They have tons of videos on youtube also. I learned a lot of stuff watching the videos. They have a huge selection of boards to look at, and they are made in the USA.

Erik Leines was reccomended by surfboard shaper Cordell Miller to repair a Hypto Krypto I bought…read morethat was damaged. I reached out to Erik and he said to bring the board by the shop. He found that it needed a fin box repair and a stripped screw replacement. He fixed the issues, and also did a re-repair of a small hole the board had, which had a sloppy repair, without me even asking. He made the repair totally smooth and good as new. So if you ever buy a beater board or just need a repair, bring it by this shop. And then yesterday I picked up a new board that Cordell made me, and he reccomended heading down to Stewart to buy some fins for it, so I did. Everyone was super nice in the shop. Very cool spot, too.

Obviously the times have changed and the equipment has become better, and the prices have gore accordingly. One of the best things about the Catalyst shop besides the online customer support team, was how friendly and knowledge the staff was. They answered any questions I had about the new was of measuring surfboards... by Liters. I'm and American, and have no idea what the metric system is! Al kidding aside they explain it to me in a little more detail, and that was enough for me. I got a 3/2 fullsuit for like 50 bucks. I didn't even need another one at the time, but how you gonna say no to that? I also love buying booties here, if you come at a time when they have your size the deals are phenomenal, I usually pay $60+ for booties full price but they'll have them here for 15 bucks sometimes but they go fast. The staff here is also super helpful, if you're new to wetsuits and need help with wetsuit sizing or anywhere else they're always happy to help. The fitting rooms are large and spacious as well, which if you've ever tried on a wetsuit before you know that you want a lot of space to move around. Besides wetsuits and surf gear they have both men and women's apparel along with accessories such as watches, hats, bags, etc. The store is well maintained and well kept, and parking is easy right behind the store. The only downside is that their stock is always constantly changing, so you never really know if they'll have your size of what you want. I've found great deals on apparel and misc accessories, but other times I'll come by and there's no sales and the prices aren't too different from what you'd find at a regular non outlet store or they won't have my size in anything I want. If you're passing through the area, it's definitely worth it to stop by to see what they have. If they don't, come back another time because they'll probably have new inventory.
