Top: Old Bay scallops & tobiko salmon. Bottom: lava flow salmon & volcano scallops.
Raena D.

Felt compelled to review Rion's Ocean Room again since I recently tried their two new menu items: volcano scallops & Old Bay scallops (both fully cooked). The volcano scallops have krab salad mixed in. Yum! The Old Bay scallops were tossed in a creamy sauce with Old Bay seasoning and that's the primary flavor you taste. Previously, I really enjoyed the creamy garlic shrimp but was informed by an employee they were removed for the time being potentially due to supplier inconsistencies. Initially this made me sad, however the addition of scallops completely makes up for it. I will be thinking of the volcano scallops until I can be back for more! Torched to perfection with a hint of smokiness, nestled in a decadent spicy mayo concoction. Rion's has reignited my love for scallops! I come here every Saturday and will continue doing so.

Rion's Ocean Room was born out of Sonny Nyguen's love for Hawaiian Poke. This spot has a counter with a large variety of poke to choose from. I ordered mine served over rice and it was so delicious. The Maui Onion Chips and Hawaiian Soda really gives you the feeling that you are on the Main Street in Waikiki where fresh poke sold by the pound is easily found in the grocery stores! The Poke is cold and served over warm rice. This is one of the many restaurants of the Domu Dynasty.

This is a great poke spot located in East End Market. I've tried several of their flavors, and my favorites are the Hawaiian Tobiko Salmon/Ahi Tuna and the Sweet Yuzu Salmon/Ahi Tuna. The Hawaiian Tobiko is more of a creamier flavor and the Sweet Yuzu is more of a brighter, cleaner flavor. The rice is usually chewy and well-cooked. However, there was one time I came that it was undercooked and kind of hard, but that honestly felt like a one-off. For the most part, they're pretty consistent. The staff is always friendly and smiley. Even though the lines are almost always long, they move things along quickly and are patient if you're deciding between flavors. I've always had a pleasant experience here. Outside, there's a cute seating area with picnic tables and some shaded spots, which makes for a nice place to sit and eat since Rion's is only grab and go. The only downside here is parking. It can be tough to find a spot since it's in a busy plaza with a lot of other restaurants.

Pick 2 bowl with seaweed salad $20

Rion's fish is super fresh! I tried the spicy tuna and the Hawaiian tobiko salmon in the pick 2 bowl for $18. The seaweed salad is an additional $2. Although it is very tasty, I felt the portion side was a little smaller than I'd hoped. Also I don't love that all other toppings are additional. Most other poke places included a few toppings. I did have to wait a good amount of time to order. Another person in line told me they are normally really fast, I must have just caught them on an off day.

First time trying this place out. The tuna was so fresh and flavorful. The line was long on a Saturday afternoon and the line didn't move super fast even though everything is already prepared and scooped into a container. I think it was mostly due to customers dragging their feet to order. East End market is a fan fave. Will go back again.

I love Poke and have been wanting to try this place for a while now! I came here on the weekend for lunch. The girl at the counter was so nice and gave me recommendations on what to get. I love that you can see everything that they serve right in front of you in the case. I got Hawaiian Tobiko Salmon & Ahi Tuna with seaweed salad and mac salad. I also got a Passionfruit guava juice which was amazing. I was really blown away how fresh the fish tasted. The Mac salad and seaweed salad were perfect too! This place is a bit pricey but it's so good. I would definitely come back here! You should try this place out if you love Poke or Sushi.

Rion's Ocean Room is inside East End Market. So you see the poke through a glass kind of like how you see seafood and meat in a glass in a Publix. They have no inside seating here. Just line up and order and eat outside. I ate upstairs inside The Neighbors which was nice. I only wanted a small serving since I was having dinner a few hours later. I ordered a fourth a pound each of macaroni salad and Hawaiian tobiko tuna. Both were so good. I really loved both of them and would want to go back asap. I want to try the sweet yuzu poke next time. I've tried Hawaiian macaroni salad many times and it's one of my faves, but everyone makes it so different. This one was definitely a great one!

Rion's Ocean Room at East End Market is such a great find! Even though it is a small stall, it delivers big on freshness and flavor. I ordered the Hot Garlic Ahi Tuna, and it was amazing. The fish was super fresh, full of flavor, and had the perfect mix of heat and garlic. The customer service was also amazing! Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and happy to walk me through the menu and offer recommendations. It really makes a difference when the staff is as enthusiastic about the food as you are! If you are looking for a light but delicious lunch while exploring East End Market, this is an easy spot to recommend. The flavors are bold, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is warm and genuine.

I absolutely loved the fresh fish from Rions. They have a large selection that tends to sell out quickly (that's how you know the food is delicious). The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. The service is quick so don't get discouraged by the lines. I love the little market feel and out door area to sit and enjoy. Overall a great experience

So amazingly fresh and delicious. Kaylee helped us put together a delicious tuna bowl topped with plenty of masago. The rice is hot and fresh and the fish is plentiful and delicious 10/10 Pro tips; Get there early! They do run out Order seaweed snacks to make your bowl into handheld treats

I tried the lava salmon which was just the right amount of heat! The person at the counter suggested spicy yuzu ahi tuna which I tried a 1/2 lb of. I liked the salmon one better. The inside of the store didn't smell like fish so that is good. I really feel that even though it was a little expensive, it was a fairly priced treat!

Still one of the best poke places. Although prices are high the poke and amount you receive is absolutely worth it. Service was spectacular last time we went. He recommended the Lava flow for the tuna or salmon and it was a treat for us. I also have to say their rice is absolutely delicious. Although the ordering spot is a bit on the tighter end they seem to have a system that flows everyone through. The place itself is inside East End Market. Which is already an amazing vibe. Love the seating area outside. We ate and played a couple rounds of cards and it was quite relaxing.

1 pole over rice, shoyu ahi
Simran B.

We visited Rion's Ocean Room on a Sunday around 3pm. They had no line (lucky us) so we ordered immediately. I got the shoyu tuna with some seaweed salad and fresh wasabi. My companion got the garlic shrimp with some crab salad. We also ordered some Maui onion chips. The ahi was honestly so good. It tasted like I was back in Hawaii, and it was very fresh. I love that this place does by the pound and will likely get some for my next gathering. The seaweed salad was very good too, it was really well balanced. The garlic shrimp was actually very tasty too, the shrimp was cooked perfectly and the garlic sauce was awesome, nice and heavy on the garlic. So, obviously I was pretty happy with the food, so why 4 stars? Our total came out to over 40 bucks before tip. Now I know that sushi grade fish is expensive, so I actually think this is totally reasonable for the serving of ahi that I got, but it doesn't make quite as much sense for the shrimp. Especially when you realize that by the pound the shrimp is 7.50 cheaper than the ahi, it doesn't make sense to charge the same amount for it over rice. I was also a little disappointed that the Maui sweet onion chips were deep River instead of a Hawaiian brand. I'll absolutely be going back to Rion's, and I'm excited to try their other flavors like the Hawaiian Tobiko and the Lava Flow.

It's simple. This is best poke I've ever had. Period. Taste like it was caught 10 minutes before I ate it

If you're staying at a Disney property you can book all your dining reservations for your entire trip starting 60 days before your check-in date. This restaurant is located in the main building at the Polynesian resort which is very conveniently located on the monorail line. We were seated right at our reservation time. The dining room is large and bustling. The tables are close together, so there is not a ton of privacy. Our server was very friendly and helpful and explained that this is an "all you care to enjoy" dining experience which in Disney language means they will keep bringing you more food if you want it. I tried the Mai Tai cocktail (included with the dining plan) which was a truly authentic, tasty, and strong drink! You start with a platter of their famous Ohana noodles and other small items like gyoza and chicken wings. The famous noodles are truly very good and wonderfully flavored. Next they will bring you a platter of assorted entree items including shrimp, beef, and chicken. The beef was tender and a nice and flavorful sauce, but I actually enjoyed the chicken more which was a thin and flavorful grilled boneless breast. Again, you can ask for more of anything you want until you are full! The dessert is the Ohana pineapple bread pudding with ice cream which was a delicious and unique take on the standard bread pudding. The pineapple really added unique flavor and texture to the dish. Overall, this was a great dining experience! We look forward to returning on our next visit!

The place has a couple pre-made options as well as a build your own bowl. It's $13.99 and you can get two bases (white rice/forbidden rice (an apparently healthier rice thats black)/spring greens), two protein, 6 toppings, 2 sauces, 3 crunchies and 2 spicy add ons included in the $13.99. You fill out a little paper and they make it for you. It did take awhile for the lady to build our bowls but I guess since it isn't Chipotle-style where you point at what you want, it makes sense. You can walk around the meat and cheese market for a bit while you wait though. However, if you're not there for meat or cheese, there's not much else to look at except a small collection of sauces, crackers and drinks that you can get at a regular grocery store. The bowl was a good size honestly. The container they give it in is a little large so it looked lacking when we picked it up but it actually contained a good amount. I think the most commendable aspect is that they give a lot of fish/protein. The poke isn't bad. I got the sriracha mayo and garlic sauce on my bowl and I think they paired well enough. The forbidden rice isn't bad either. I got both the white rice and forbidden rice and they taste almost the same tbh. The veggies are fresh and refreshing. Overall, not a bad bowl of poke.

The service was great and fast... and he did a beautiful job constructing our bowls. The only reason I can give them 5 stars is because it's located inside a brewery that feels like a bar and it's not an elevated experience. Don't really love eating with single use plastic and a pub table. So go for the food and don't worry about the ambiance!
