This place is amazing! Came here on a whim while in town... walked in.. and it was stunning on the inside.. like modern Mexican restaurant. Upscale looking while still being family friendly and the prices were still very reasonable/ normal for what I would expect to pay for Tex-mex. Everything came out beautiful and delicious. Been wanting to try Rio Mambo for a while, as the curb appeal is definitely there. Went last night and was very unimpressed. First negative (for me) was the ambiance inside. This is personal, but I'm just not a fan of the retro look and feel. Now, once they figured out who was going to be our server, service was VERY good, and probably the only thing giving them stars at all. Ordered their "specialty martini" drink, which is just a margarita served up. Picture on menu had a full glass. Mine was poured and was about half full, plus was just mediocre, at best. Next I decided to try the jalapeño margarita. This one was just plain terrible. Watered down tasting and almost no jalapeño spice. As for foods, I'd say as a whole it was a tad below average, definitely not what you would expect for the price. As I told another person who asked for a comparison. Great service, very mediocre food. We'd had a stressful day, drove around, looked impressive from the outside, inside really nice. Ordered combo plate for lunch, not nearly enough sauce on the spinach and chicken enchilada. Lots of big spinach stems in it. Sauce was good, needed way more. Taco served 'undressed'. I gather the small pile of lettuce and 3 pieces of diced tomato were to go on top of it. Barely a sprinkle of cheese on the taco and tostada. Server was great, margarita was okay. Everything was just okay...prices for dinner were expensive for 'okay'. read more

I'm not rating the food because I'd eaten before I came with my family. But it looked delicious. All I ordered were fries and they were amazing. I'm here to review Brian, our waiter. He is simply the best waiter there. He was very welcoming, accommodating, he listened to everything we had to say, and he was very real, down to earth and entertaining! We even had a huge mess.... cause you know... we can't go out to eat anywhere with a toddler and call it a night until something spills.... and he approached the situation with a smile and we laughed about it! Most waiters at other restaurants give us a look when kids act themselves. Brian made our dinner more than a dinner, he made it an experience. I want to come back now and make sure to ask for him every time. Go to Rio Mambo, ask for Brian, tip him well, he deserves to own his own restaurant and oversee people, and teach them how to run a fine dining experience. Not kidding. Nice, shiney and new. Too loud. Loud like a cafeteria in a gym loud. Theres a mirror outside the mens bathroom and reflects into the bathroom. Of course my booth faced that wall and since the lights were so dang bright I could see very well. I like soft or dim lights while dinning after 2pm. Food was good but it took forever. The worst service in town. Although the food is always good, there is no excuse for poor service. The restaurant was not very busy, but it was 14 minutes before a sever visited the table to take a drink order. After the two tables beside me were seated the were greeted by 2 searvers each after only 2 minutes of being seated. At that time 1 server finallystopped and took our drink order, and I only waited another 9 minutes for my tea to arrive. Took forever to get our food. Mine was barley warm. Had to ask (another server) for the tortillas the order came with my food was cold. Had to ask repeatedly for refills. Over all the food was good, the server was horrible. Our waiter was Corbin, he seemed to have no sense of customer service. Had the service been better. i tried rio mambo for the first time last week and there food is excellent i loved it and the staff is very helpful

this place really surprised me tonight with how many problems there were. it started off with a dirty napkin that had food on it from when it was previously being used. next thing we noticed was when we got our appetizer plates and one of them also had food remnants on it. very gross. later we noticed another napkin that hadn't been clean along with a hair in the guacamole. it was my moms birthday and they brought out a sopapia for her and the place had queso on it. although all of that happened the customer service was great and the manager came out and helped us with all of the difficulties. read more

Went to Rio Mambo for the first time today. It was nice and clean, Chips and salse were just right to me, others in my group thought the salsa was to spicy The food was very good as was the service. Well, I'm still disappointed in this place. A few months ago my wife and I ate here for the first time. The service and the experience weren't good, and as a way to retain our business, the manager gave us a $50 gift certificate. I was pretty impressed by this and the manager was pleasant to deal with. We decided to give it another try. Last month we ate here again, and used the gift certificate. It was a pretty good meal and the service was better. We had about $11 left on the gift card after that visit. Well today, Father's Day 2018 we decided to call in an order to go and use the remainder of the gift certificate. As soon as I called the experience and service were awful. An employee named Lexi answered the phone and righty away I could tell that I was supremely inconveniencing Lexi by her having to answer the phone. Completely rude. The best way I can describe the call; it was as if I was someone Lexi couldn't stand. She didn't even tell me how long the order would take to get ready. I was going to ask her, but as soon as tried to, she hung up. So, I go to pick up the order and present the gift certificate and cash to pay for it. She says, very irritably, "I don't think I can accept this". I said "you can't accept your own gift card? One that was given to me because of bad service just like I'm getting now?" A manager ended up handling it but at this point I'm done. It's pretty sad for the manager because I truly believe he wants to have a great restaurant. But when my service is bad after they tried to make up for service that was bad...it's time to cut my losses. read more

Tried to go here and enjoy on three occasions within the last month or so. The first time it was terribly slow, all apologies, wrong check. We thought, okay no problem. It happens. Left a good tip and thought nothing of it. Second time same thing! We thought okay it's a fluke, happened to us two times in a row, terrible service, wrong check, it's not a big deal. Third time!?! Same exact issues. This time I could not get someone to give me my check, then I couldn't get someone to take it. Mind you, all of these times employees are standing around or you will see 5 people serving one table or people walking past you 100 times when I are practically begging for water. This time I had to waive my hands up and down to get someone to take my check after 15 mins waiting for check and another 15 waiting to cash out. AND the check was wrong again. My experience at the Rio Mambo in Burleson was terrible! While I enjoyed the food and service at the Bryant Irving location, the Burleson location has terrible service, (jwaiters don't know the difference between Tequila and Vodka and we're extremely slow), and the food does not measure up to the quality of the food at the Fort Worth location. Long waits, terrible service, and poor food means I would not recommend this restaurant! read more

Went to Rio Mambo in Burleson on the afternoon of June 10, 2018. Sat down and ordered food. Minutes later we started having to swat flies away. After making a comment to our waiter about all the flies, he stated that the electricty had been out earlier. As of that night, I have been sick as a dog, I will assume food poisioning!! read more

I usually experience good customer service at this location; however, the last few times were unfortunate. Yesterday I visited Rio Mambo and my server's name was Sara E. My friend and I placed our order and he always orders the Ribeye Eloy entree. After placing his order with Sara, she asks him, "Are you sure you want to order this?" We answered, "Yes. Why do you ask?" Sara proceeded to say, "Its the most expensive item on our menu." We just looked at her in disbelief and assured her that we can afford it. She then explained that someone else ordered this and didn't know how much it cost which was an outlandish excuse since the prices are in bold print next to the menu item. Furthermore, Sara did not get my order right. I ordered the brisket burrito and received chicken instead. There was a lapse in time receiving drinks and salsa the second go round but the manager did help her with this. I hate to pull the race card and never really do. I just wonder if we were not African-American, would Sara have asked us if we basically could afford a $28.00 entree (which isn't expensive at all)? It was very blatant and we left baffled. We paid our tab, left a tip anyway, and did not report this to the manager on duty. I love the food here and one of my favs; however, this is definitely our last time visiting any Rio Mambo restaurant. read more

I wish I could review how the food tasted, but unfortunately did not get a chance to try it. My best friend came to visit from out of town and we were excited to try this place. We arrived at our table a little after 5. We ordered our food about 20 min after we got there. After this, multiple parties had arrived after us. We slowly began to notice others who arrived after us were getting their food. The waitress said our food should be out any minute. We then waited an additional 25 min without any word from the waitress. By then, we told the manager we were going to leave and he went to check on our meal. By this time we had waited an hour and a half for our food. They told us that our food order had been lost after an hour and a half of us waiting! Someone should have inquired about our meal at least 30 min after we ordered. I am more upset at the way this situation was handled more than our meal just being lost. I hope they learn from this mistake and no one has to deal with this again. No we did not get to try the food because my friend had to head back home and they did not offer to pay for our future meal or one we could take with us. read more

We came in for dinner as a party of 6. Sat for 10 minutes or so before our waitress finally came and greeted us with chips and salsa. We ordered drinks and food at the same time and our food seemed sub-par. We also weren't given silverware even after our food was brought out so we had to ask for it which contributed to the issue of the food being cold as those of us that didnt order finger food had to wait even longer before digging in. Drinks are decently priced which I would come back for but the food is unreasonably priced when considering the lack of service. Seems like you're paying mostly for atmosphere as they're obviously well invested in the extra mood lighting. The dishes are interesting when you see them on the menu but it would be easy to walk away disappointed. I had cheese enchiladas with eggs and fajitas on top (forgot the name.of the dish) which was good but as previously mentioned fajitas came out cold. So we decided to try the brunch on a Saturday we were looking forward to it since we had heard about their brunch menu. When we got our order the black beans were lukewarm at best. She brought us more beans and we're still lukewarm and she notified the kitchen about the beans being lukewarm and they said the lamps were on. They needed to at least microwave the food because the cheese wouldn't even melt inside the beans. Jose the manager came to our table and asked if he could sit down and talk to us because the kitchen informed him we had complained about the beans being cold. He told us the plates are very hot and we said yes but the beans were cold. As we were headed out the door Jose came to us and said that he went and asked the kitchen crew why the beans were cold and Patricia said she had scooped them from the top. He was grateful that we brought it to their attention. We love their chips and salsa and overall our meal was good. read more
