First time here and to start off, the chips and salsa were really yummy. Our waitress was really nice and accommodating. Ok, now to the entrees. My boyfriend got the Mexican, which he ended up not eating since it was in a pool of grease and the potatoes were very soggy. The guy who we're thinking was probably the manager, was kind enough to take it off our tab. I ordered the burrito tortillon and well, I was disappointed too, but still tried to eat it, since I felt bad if the guy would have to take it as well. The burrito was stuffed mainly with beans, it had very little brisket and I barely saw any onions and peppers, so it was pretty much a bean burrito with a side of beans. Came with some friend for Cinco de Mayo and in the midst of placing orders, we were informed that due to the holiday happy hour specials were being honored all day. This lead to a few changes regarding orders. I ordered a Margarita flight and told the waitress I wanted sugar rims. I also got the cheese enchilada plate with carne asada. The chips and individual salsas was a nice touch as we waited for our food. When I got my food I realized that I had a block of cheese inside a tortilla that was no where near melted. I asked the server if the cheese could be melted to which she said she would have done. When the plate came back the cheese had become a greasy mess the was coming out the ends. Needless to say I didn't eat it. The margaritas were rimmed with salt which made the drinks less pleasing. On one of the drinks the salt had basically melted into the drink so I had a very salty drink. When I mentioned this to the waitress she informed me that she told the bartender "sugar" however they were very busy due to the holiday and must have forgotten. Lenise and I decided that we would visit Rio Mambo again to enjoy their happy hour and their happy hour appetizers. George, an awesome young man has been with Rio Mambo for a long time. He is the bartender. wait staff, food server, and all around nice guy in the bar area. Rio's is well known for their great food and awesome drinks. We ordered the "FORT WORTH" ... a frozen margarita with a small bottle of champagne upside down in the margarita so as you drank it the champagne would be released in the glass. It was very good, I mean, like really good. My good friend and I shared the happy hour nachos, which was chips with beans and cheese. They had guacamole, jalapeños and sour cream on the side. Very tasty ! You can't go wrong dining here. They are setup for patrons with disabilities inside and out. The outside seating area was very clean and organized. Same with the interior. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was pleasant and lively. We had a good time. Thank you George for the excellent drinks and appetizers ! We'll be back ! read more

I have been to Rio Mambo twice, and it is a very cool vibe and both times I went, the staff have been very attentive. The last time I went, Austin was my waiter and he continuously checked on me and my friend and made sure we had everything that we needed. I was eating later than I normally do so I kept it simple and had, the complimentary chips in salsa, my friend got the queso blanco, and I got the white fish ceviche. I really appreciate, that they offer just a whitefish option because I am allergic to shellfish. It's been a while since I've been able to enjoy a ceviche, because most of them have shrimp in them. It was really flavorful, it had plenty of citrus and avocado, and the chips were thicker than the ones that you get with the salsa, so they withstood putting lots of ceviche on a chip! I also got a tequila dressed and on the rocks. It was nice, because I visited during the week, before 6 so I got to take advantage of their happy hour prices. I will definitely come back. It would have been nice if I was told that there was going to be a charge for the sauces. I asked the waitress and she said, that they make them charge the client and that there is nothing free.. The birthday song, for my Dad, which started with a LOUD yell and the shaking of several silverware caddies... this literally scared everyone at our table... when I say LOUD... I thought a server had dropped a large tray of food!! The food was reasonable priced, tasty, and had good portion sizes. It's a 3 for me dawg. Beautiful restaraunt and the ambience is a 5. It feels like you're in a high end Italian rest or steakhouse but for Tex Mex food which I found fascinating and enticing thinking it would just elevate the roadside tex mex I enjoy. The service for us was poor. Had to ask for refills, really hard tracking down our server, the server just wasn't engaged at all. It was bordering on bad service. The bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious, as was the Cole slaw that went with them. Highly recommend. The ceviche was pretty meh. Very heavy tomato/ketchupy feel had me a bit turned off. Good spice though and no better than average overall. TatumsTamales were extremely pedestrian. One note and monotone, I could tell the difference between the filling and masa itself. The chili con Carne over the top just dampened the entire dish into a very homogeneous flavor. It needs some sort of acid or brightness. This was one of the worst tamale dishes I have. We will probably never go back. We used to live this place until the last couple of years, but we kept going thinking it would change. That's on us. Tonight the waitress didn't seem to really care about anything. I had to ask for butter twice, we ordered queso , beef enchiladas and beef nachos. My daughter asked for her enchiladas to be made with flour tortillas , like she does every where she orders them and the waitress said that they are premade and they could not do that. Less than 5 minutes later our food came out and no queso. The food was awful. It was cold and the nachos were soggy. We tried eating it and just couldn't. The waitress finally came by the table as we were about to go ask for the check. I asked for the manager and he came by the table and said that they get their food out fast. But come on less than 5 minutes and then it's cold? I guess they pre made the enchiladas and nachos this morning and just left them out and serve them that way. The manager stated that the meal was on him, we barely ate the meal lol. Now we are going to g to go eat at Mexican Inn. read more

Just want to give a huge shout out to the excellent management tonight. My wife daughter and I were accommodated with our request to sit in a booth which probably threw off rotation or could have messed the staff up with it being at 5 and closers swapping out for starters. But the manager doing floor sweeps made sure we were taken care of and once the server who was assigned to us everything was wonderful and great. It's been over 5 years since I've been in the service industry, as now I'm an operations manager. But I just want the staff to know I truly appreciate their attentiveness and care. Y'all this use to be one of our favorite places for Mexican food, second to Pappasitos and we visited several times a month. Since the change in ownership, the food has completely gone down hill to literally inedible. We just gave it one last and 3rd final try hoping it would get back to what is used to be, but the food has gone from amazing, top notch quality and delicious to tasting like they pulled the ingredients out of a dumpster. Our server was absolutely excellent and the restaurant remains clean, but the food could literally not be worse now. My $20 salad was some iceberg lettuce with fowl smelling ground beef and looked like they flicked a few pieces of corn and black beans out of a can. So sad to loose what use to be a great place. We were one of 2 tables in the entire restaurant, I felt so bad for our server. Hope management is able to change the high price food back to what it was or turn this place into a Taco Bell and lower your prices, I wish we'd gone to Taco Bell instead so we could have actually ate our food. we've given this location a couple of times and each time have been disappointed. there seems to be an absence of hosts when you walk in and there are only a handful of waiters for the whole restaurant. the food has been decent but it does take a while to get chips and a drink. we love the hulen location and unfortunately would drive the 20 minutes to get there instead of this location which is closer to home. i'm hoping this location improves. read more

Not sure why this establishment in particular has a low rating. The other location in Ft Worth is always good. This one is closer, so we stopped by. Wife wants Mexican, she gets Mexican. Maribela was the one that waited on us. Later we found out she's also the manager. Very nice individual. Chips and salsa I've always liked. Salsa could be spicier for my taste. Chips are thin and airy, unlike these as opposed to the thick chips others have. Chicken spinach enchiladas was on the menu for my wife. Always a winner. Need to switch to flour tortillas tho, my opinion. The corn is to dry and distracts from the enjoyment. I had the brisket tacos, hard shell, can't recall the actual name. But they were wicked good. Word of caution, the chicken is supposedly hand pulled, so you can expect a surprise chicken bone, possibly. That possibility became reality for my wife. Ouch. Jabbed her mouth up top. Terrible food & customer service. My husband & I ordered a grilled fajita steak and fried brisket burrito with sour cream sauce. Somehow the sauce of my fried brisket burrito was changed to chili con carne instead. I waited for the kitchen to remake a new one while everyone else at my table ate. Once I was finally able to eat the burrito, I realized the brisket had probably been thawed from being frozen then boiled to be reheated. The brisket was so bland and watery that it turned my "fried" burrito into a soggy tortilla. My husband had also stated his fajita meat was bland and tasted boiled as well. We end up getting our checks and realized we were charged for an extra burrito (the one that had to be ordered due to a mistake). That burrito had to be voided by the manager (should of have been done awhile ago). They are charging $17 for these burritos by the way. I would avoid this place!! Huge patio and huge interior. No wait on Saturday or Sunday night. Beautiful interior. Tex mex food which I'm not a big fan of. I had the tortilla soup (they gave extra broth on the side), fish tacos and frozen margarita flight. You choose the margarita flavors. So the drinks were perfect, not too strong either. The soup and tacos were delicious. The fries are huge and came hot and perfect. Great friendly service. They do have spotty credit card machine days so bring cash just in case. I have always enjoyed Rio until the past few times. They allow a dog which isn't marked as a service dog to set at the table in a chair or the owners bring it's bed in and place it on the chairs. They ordered the dog something to eat and fed the animal from the fork. Then the food was put on one of the cloth napkins and the dog ate and then licked the cloth napkin. I saw a server come over and pet the dog. This to me is unacceptable. I have been told by management before that they have to allow the dog in the establishment. This seems like a health violation on so many levels. read more

For a company lunch, we ordered 10 meals to go for pickup right at 11 today. Due to some issues we had ordering online, my staff called and placed the order over the phone. In the busyness of the morning, I left my purchasing card at the office when I went to pick up our order. The gentleman that assisted me went above and beyond to help me find alternative solutions to pay without my physical card. After helping me for over 15 minutes, he walked me to my vehicle to help put the bags of food inside. I am so appreciative of the kindness and patience of the staff helping me with my own mistake! I was truly disappointed in our last visit. The prices have gone way up and the product has become of lower quality and lesser amount. The two enchilada plate is smaller with less ingredients such as a spoonful of spinach and a couple of spoonfuls of ground chicken, which tasted horrible. The sauce was in abundance though, maybe to cover up the bad enchiladas. The quacamole plate was sad. Four small scoops of quacamole on some shredded lettuce for fifteen bucks. A friend spoke highly of the food at Rio Mambo so I agreed to meet her for brunch and give it a try. I arrived a few minutes after her and she already had a cup of coffee ( fast service). I sat and about a minute later, our waitress appeared to take our orders. I decided upon a brunch special that included a poinsettia ( cranberry and champagne) or Mimosa,omelette and either a sopapilla or cinnamon roll. I chose a steak fajita omelette, mimosa and a sopapilla. My friend chose the all American breakfast. We ate all of our salsa and requested more because it was so good! Our orders arrived rather quickly and we began to eat. My order was something that I could easily create at home but was delicious. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and has beautiful selfie worthy spaces . The service was good but we order the #3 for lunch. I had the one chicken Enchiladas and it was just can chicken with no seasoning and the sour cream sauce did not cover the enchiladas plus it was cold. I had a beef taco and the same the meat was so bland. They were not busy but the sit us down at a table that was just cleaned with bleach and we had to ask them to dry it off plus I smell the bleach the whole time we ate. read more
