We tried Mexico Real Restaurant today, and we were very pleased! My husband ordered the guiso, and it was exactly what he likes--tender meat in a flavorful gravy-style sauce without being spicy. He is extremely picky and very hard to please, so the fact that he enjoyed it says a lot! The food was delicious, the portions were good, and we had a great experience. We will definitely be back! read more

It has been a really long time since I have eaten lunch at Mexico Real. I was seated immediately with a smile. It has quite a few tables and booths. Chips and salsa were brought immediately to the table and my drink. The service was vey good, bringing extra napkins when requested. I had the lunch 2 beef tacos and beans. It was tasty and filling. My lunch was brought out quickly. Although I haven't been here in a while, I will be back read more

My Boyfriend wanted to eat here for his birthday. He was definitely happy w the food and service. He ordered the Chilli Rellenos and a Margarita that had a kick to it! I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. I loved their Sour Cream Sauce and fresh shredded Chicken. The Rice was ok. I wish it came with Peas and Carrots. It could have been warmer too. I love a Hot plate of food. I guess, they made my plate 1st, then made my boyfriend's plate and then let mine sit there until my Boyfriend's plate was done so they can bring out the plates at the same time. That would be my guess? The Chips were freshly made and the Salsa had a wonderful taste, flavorful with a great blend of ingredients. My boyfriend said, Our Waiter was really good. He said, he was really hustling. He really did give his all and had a positive attitude. The Cashier was really friendly too. Mexico Real is a staple to Fort Worth. It's very popular that's why you see the Parking Lot full. It's popular among Seminary Students because, the Seminary is close by. Honestly, I think people come for the Margs because, it seems like they use 100 percent Tequila. Well, Thanks Mexico Real, for keeping it real. Lol. It seems like we will be back real soon. read more

Food is good and comes out fast and hot. I love it because it's still a mom and pop restaurant. Family friendly. The service is good because if you are a regular they know what you want to drink, eat and where you like to sit. read more

Was my favorite place but yesterday my guest ordered chicken fajitas .The sizzling skilled looked a bit weird with the chicken hit and miss. But it was worse than that, it was like old and dried out and it burned to grissle. May as well have been chicken bones! For $18.99 it should have been great but my guest was trying to pick off what decent edible chicken there was. I have to budget to eat at this place and to be served inedible food is tragic. The large order of nachos I was served was also very bad. Very little fajita meat and not very hot so rubbery cheese. I NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. Service good, ambience lacking. read more

Decent local place. The salsa is good flavor with a subtle heat. The margarita was huge. The wait staff is always friendly. This is a great place for families and you will frequently see large groups. The chicken dishes here are my favorite. read more

Have never had bad service, the staff is always smiling and attentive. One of my favorite spots for Mexican food.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Pleasant atmosphere and comfortable booths. Fajita salad and as great..

Was waiting for a car repair and this place was nearby. We could tell by the front that the food was gonna be great and we were right. Service was wonderful, kept drinks and salsa full. I had a few more bites left and felt bad wasting them because I was so full read more

Great tex max for cheap prices. Great, calm, open, family-friendly atmosphere. Enchiladas are bomb. House margaritas are strong, tasty and worth the money. Best tex led on FW for a family on a budget. Kids 4 and 12 even adored the salsa and cleaned both their plates. And they did not get kids' plates! So super success all around. read more

Absolutely love this place. Quick fresh homemade Mexican food. Great chips and salsa all at an affordable price. The staff is always friendly. Pretty good like restaurant. My wife got the cheese enchiladas since it's during Lint and she said it was pretty good. I had the 3 taco plate and the beef was good, maybe a little greasy for some people but I liked it and it had good flavor. Beans and rice weren't anything to write home about. Chips and salsa were pretty good. They had a bunch of lunch specials too. Would eat here again! read more

Good food, super quiet, fast service. The margaritas were really good and strong for 6.50 each. The fajitas had too many onions but were great otherwise! The sopapillas were super sweet and flaky which I like. read more

The food was cold and the service given with a smile was lack luster Ed. We waited on everything literally. We had to ask for what we needed multiple times and it was pathetic. No one said it was a nickel and dime meal. 45 cents for a lemon 2.00 for this 4$ for that. It was horrible tasting food. I would have to say this was not my experience on Saturday. Don't go!!! read more

Not a good experience! We had to call for our server to have our order taking, food came out cold, we had to request refills on chips and drinks. Server was missing in action throughout our entire meal. We drove 40 minutes to get to the restaurant by recommendation of a recent visitor of the restaurant. So disappointed! read more

Although the outside seems deceiving, the food is worth the visit. $15.99 fajitas that are good and come will all the fixings. The inside is nicely put together and clean. The bathrooms are another story. But for the food and the price, it's definitely great. read more

Been going there for many years, food and service have always been good, so far I haven't been disappointed

I think this restaurant is alright. The food tastes like any Mexican chain restaurant. I'm Mexican, so I do have a bias opinion. I've had way better. It is affordable. I ordered the #10 chicken enchilada lunch special and I spent about $8. You can get different sauces on the enchiladas. Ask. I just know of sour cream sauce or queso sauce. You do get chips and salsa when you sit down. Which is nice. The restaurant seems clean. Looks cute with Mexican decor. Staff was really nice. There is a changing table in the restroom. It is very important to parents of really young children. read more

Ordered from Uber. Its not great but not bad, they have good portions the soup is okay it looks like they gave us the left overs not much chicken they forgot the tortilla chips and a little bit of rice at the bottom. The fajita plate was bland not much seasoning but the portion was good a lot of meat, rice and beans. My husband had the tamale plate, he said it was okay. We also ordered the platter appetizer the taquitos look like they were from a box freezer brand, nachos were good, quesadillas were over filled with cheese. They gave us a lot of red salsa too much for the bag of tortilla chips they gave us. Over all it was what you expect from a average tex Mex restaurant. We ordered it just to try it but I probably won't order from here again. read more

We have been eating here for years!!! Lucky us, it is right around the corner. Our niece (who is from Chihuahua Mexico) says it is her favorite place to eat Tex-Mex; our extended family has had many get togethers there! Our favorites: Spinach or chicken enchiladas, (our daughter calls the sauce "sour cream crack sauce") fajitas, fajita salad, and the dessert flautas. The grilled items are very good and the San Antonio nachos will fill up four people easily. My husband will often order a bowl of refried beans with minced fresh jalapenos (he judges all other beans against these) The salsa is made fresh daily, and can vary, especially in the heat category. Probably ordering take out tonight for Cinco de Mayo! read more

Going to be honest here, I went all the way to Fort Worth because my super cute daughter is waiting tables here. I looked at the reviews and lowered my expectations. I totally didn't have to. I had the tamale and enchilada plate. They were dang good. The pork tamale was meaty. The cheese enchilada was very cheddery. The chili con carne was really tasty. The only thing that could have been better were the refried beans. They were a little runny. I also agree that the hot sauce was a lot like just regular tomato sauce. But my dad can't eat super hot stuff, so it was great for him. The location is in a strip shopping center and doesn't look like much on the outside. Inside is pretty cute. It looks old-school Tex Mex with bright colors, adobe style walls and little brick arches. I'm digging it. Of course the service was spot-on. Plates run $9-$12 dollars, so it's mid-range on pricing. I'd eat here again if I were in the neighborhood. read more

My rating went from a 3 to a 1. Just make sure you are clear what your meal and drinks are. My staff and I frequent the restaurant however today, 2 tacos, 2 margarites and a shot was $38.00. Every other time a shot was $2 no one said it went up and when we asked for the manager that just left our table, "he was suddenly gone". I consider this a lesson bought, and some business loss. I will advertise to everyone that listens the way they thought they disrespected regular customers and their lack of addressing the issue. When you are in a community so long you should never fell you have the right of way without stopping and paying attention. Customers, pay attention. read more

Ordered a catering order and was quoted a price. When I arrived to pick up my order I was informed that the price I was quoted was a mistake and that the price would be more than 2 times the quoted amount. The "kitchen manager" sent the hostess out to tell me they would not honor the order. 1 hour before the dinner! Horrible way to treat a frequent customer. Love the food but I do not appreciate being treated that way. Will not return. read more
