We love this spot that has both excellent Tex-mex and some phenomenal southern food like chicken fried steak. It's rare to me that you can find both in a place that does both so well. Even the iced tea is delish! We have tried the chicken fried which is SPOT on. Super thick, well battered, cooked perfectly with some delish gravy. Comes with green beans and mashed potatoes also smothered in gravy. I had a shredded chicken quesadilla that came with beans and rice. Love the free chips and salsa. The same waitress has waited on us both times we have came and she is so sweet, great at recommendations and takes excellent care of us. Stopped into this cute little place today during a road trip. Susie was our waitress and gave us recommendations from the menu. I opted for Chicken Fried Chicken and my husband ordered Carmen's Plate: 2 enchiladas, 2 crispy tacos with rice & beans. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed some fresh, yummy chips & salsa. I mean REALLY good salsa! My husband practically drank the stuff. Our food was delivered quickly and was piping hot. My husband enjoyed his, and mine was also delicious. The breading on the CFC was unlike I've ever had: really airy and crunchy. Yummy! And they didn't skimp on the cream gravy. The cost was reasonable, too. We just went in to the restaurant to order the super fajitas. They would not let us substitute a piece of sausage for 2 shrimp. What the heck....Ridiculous!!!!! We really enjoyed our lunch today! Monica, our waitress, was so nice. We ordered the chicken sandwich off the As Seen on TV menu, the sauce on there was so delicious and the daily special - two enchiladas with rice and beans. I got the queso over beef enchiladas. Everything was perfect and delicious. My husband loved the fries with his chicken sandwich, they were nice and crispy. Visited here yesterday while picking up estate sale items. Wow! Food was outstanding and so was the service! We ordered the super fajitas that include beef, chicken, shrimp, and sausage. Lots of grilled onions and peppers. Everything was cooked perfectly. Meat was tender and very flavorful. Served with homemade flour tortillas. Delicious! Our host/ waitress/ server Cheryl was wonderful! Very attentive. So nice! Suggested a dessert so we took banana pudding to go. It was awesome! My husband had the Carmen's enchilada taco plate...he's picky and he enjoyed it immensely was talking about his next visit before he finished! Saw this place on Restaurant Impossible and drove over an hour to try it. As of now, the name on the outside and on all social media still says "Fun Time Cafe" but the interior and the menus say "CW's." You walk in to a wall commemorating Robert Irvine's time with them. And the decor throughout looks bright, clean, and colorful. We ordered the Patty Melt Burrito and the Pork Ribs. Both tasted good and were cooked well, but the ribs were easily the star of the show! Wow! They fell off the bone and were bursting with flavor. Mixed with the pineapple slaw, it was even better. Also, the staff was SUPER kind and friendly. Iced tea was really good, the coke machine is in need of brixing ( adjusting the syrup to carbonated water ratio ). Since they are 100 percent locally owned I really like the place and will continue to support it. Dining area is amazingly clean. Byob if you like/need adult beverages. Back patio for the smokers. We spent just over 10 bucks a person and left stuffed, your results may vary. After a change in ownership, it's now called CW's Authentic Tex Mex . It's cute on the inside as it was recently updated on an episode of Restaurant Impossible. It feels like going back in time when restaurants were a place where communities came together. The owner and chef even came out to visit the table. It is BYOB! People were greeting each other and visiting, which was nice to watch. You can tell most everyone here is a regular by they way they were greeted by the servers. It's a great place for families, especially those who feel todays prices make it hard for a family to eat out. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions generous. We tried many things, the Fajitas were our favorite with the Chile Reno being a close second. There is a private space in the screened in patio at the back where you can host private events. They allow the cost of your party's food to cover the private space, and require a week or so notice. The menu has several options and the prices are very reasonable, and the portions good size. When doing an event you can order off menu, (which can take longer), or set a menu like fajitas, taco bar, and other options. 4 star for the food review only. We had cheese burgers, tots and onion rings. The food was very hot, fresh and very solid. Only knock was the tater tots were slightly over cooked but still tasty. Nice people. Best described as a hometown, small town, and some what of odd dive. But the food is what you would expect from a home cooking type place. I don't believe they are cheaper than the burger chains you might visit, but you get more value in volume of food. Solid burgers no complaints. But I must say the outside of the building is odd, the name "Fun Time Cafe" doesn't inspire. The inside of the place is actually pretty nice. So if your looking for some home style cooking I would recommend if in the area. I wouldn't drive from FW for it, but should be a local hit. read more

The food was nothing short of what you would expect if you walked into one of Robert Irvine's restaurants.
