    Border Nachos
    Tiffany B.

This place has great service and some of the best nachos and tacos I've ever heard! Their cuisine is classic Mexican favorites categorized by appetizers, fajitas, soups and salads, quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas and plenty of sides to choose from. For the appetizer I immediately went for the Border Nachos which were warm, delicious and loaded with the best toppings (beans, mixed cheeses, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and choice of meat). There were five people in our party and we all comfortably shared. Next for the entree I got the birria and Marco Polo tacos (bacon wrapped shrimp, melted Jack cheese, caramelized onions, cabbage, and chipotle crema). Both were so flavorful and filling. I wish I got some more photos but unfortunately phone did not eat first in this case. I am looking forward to returning!

We were visiting from out of town and ended up here for dinner one night. The experience started off pleasantly, greeted by a lovely hostess. She seated us right away. The complimentary chip and salsa came right away. The salsa was definitely mild. If you like spicy, ask for the hot sauce and mix it in with the salsa- perfect heat! We started with guacamole which were delicious. Unfortunately, my party do not like heat so we got it mild. We ordered all different entrees and everyone was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. I ordered the vegetable fajitas and it is one of the best vegetable fajitas hands down. Great flavors and vegetables were not overlooked. This is definitely a place I would visit again next time we are in town. Overall, great food and service.

First time customer ordering take out. Ordering online relatively easy and delivery was on time. Super start. We immediately noticed an item was missing and checked against emailed receipt. Receipt on bag did not list item so we figured it was not available and they neglected to notify us. We were hungry and dug in to try combo meal, Birra quesadilla, poblano corn, fajita burrito. The taquitos, an appetizer, looked stunning, dressed with fresh avocado. The combo dish (taco, quesadilla, enchilada) was thrown together in one lump. Hmm. Guac came only with 1 entree and was turning brown. Birra quesadilla was different, tasted like a pot roast quesadilla, but $18 and no rice, beans or veggies-not worth it. Food was good-the best taste and presentation going to the taquitos. This appetizer was the best tasting, most aestically appealling and so filling at 1/2 the price of the dinners we ordered. Contacted Grub Hub about missing item which is supposed to be reimbursed, but tax and tip totals were based on this being in the order so...really not pleased.

Catering order! Tacos, Quesadillas, salad, refried beans, rice.

Our office was looking for a good Mexican restaurant for catering for a office Cinco de Mayo party. I found Rio Bravo's catering menu and was instantly hooked with how straight forward it was and easy to make selections. I called and spoke with Alex- he was WONDERFUL. Beyond patient with my big order, offered great suggestions, and was SO appreciative. Rio Bravo was so easy to work with from start to finish. Nicer than nice! When I went to pick up my catering order it was all ready and perfectly organized. I brought the food back to my office and it was a hit. The food was great, everyone was so impressed. We will be ordering Rio Bravo for more office occasions in the future. Such fantastic people and amazing food. I am so thankful! We orders from the catering menu: Taco Platter: half beef and half chicken Quesadilla platter: chicken Salad: only salad option on the catering menu and it is AMAZING. came with chipotle dressing Tray of rice and beans Chips, Salsa, and Guac

But because it was so cold today, we picked one close to the train station for our lunch for three, and it turned out to be a great choice after our meal at Ryebird. Their website describes Ryebird as "A Neighborhood joint where friends and family meet" and that seems pretty much spot-on. The bar is gorgeous, the dining room is beautifully decorated with red painted walls, dark distressed wood tables, and stainless-steel colored chairs. The service was great, I mean outstanding. Our server Leo was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had a few conversations with Manager Thomas who was very charming and a real joy to talk with. And I haven't even gotten to the food yet! OK, here we go! Our party of three went with a small Chicken Soup for The Soul with Cheesy Bread ($14) for me. What's Cheesy Bread? Well, how about three toasted pieces of gooey pizza bread topped with a feta spread and olive oil. My brother-in-law went with their Daily Pot Pie ($23 for Chicken today), with a house-made buttery crust, scratch-made filling, and an added $4 up-charge for a gravy boat full of mushroom bourbon gravy. My wife went with a Roaster sandwich ($18) of pulled chicken, cheddar, BBQ sauce, pickled onion, on a baguette served with fries. We also had an order of Lemon Chili Zucchini ($9) for the table. The food was wonderful, as both the pot pie and the sandwich were devoured. My soup was a pretty big bowl for a "Small" but was loaded with more carrots and celery than chicken. I asked our server Leo if they had any hot sauce, and he asked me how hot did I want it? Ryebird has a few different types in increasing levels of hotness. I asked for the max, and he brought out a little ramekin of some of the hottest hot sauce I ever had. It was pretty much at my upper level of tolerance. I chatted about it with the restaurant manager on the way out, and he was pretty sure it was made with Ghost Peppers, so that explained my thermonuclear mouth numbing reaction. Anyway, we loved our visit to Ryebird. Their food is reasonably priced, portions are generous, the quality is high, and the service is exceptional. What more do you want in a Fairfield County lunch?

Drinks first: my slightly dirty martini was made exactly right. My friend went with cosmo and it was equally on point. Whoever is behind that bar has their act together. Then the food happened. We started with grilled bread with an EVOO, agave, and chile dip -- sounds simple, ate like a statement. The char on the bread, the heat and sweetness of that dip. Good sign of things to come. Main event: shrimp and grits. Guinea flint grits, spicy red sauce, sage, stock. I don't say this lightly -- this is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The grits were creamy and rich, the sauce had real depth and heat, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole bowl just worked on every level. Dessert: goat cheesecake with pistachio dust and berry compote. Tangy, creamy, not too sweet, and that pistachio dust on top was a perfect finish. We cleared the plate.

Nice vibes, music pumping, drinks flowing...Chris our server was PHENOMENAL! She was a huge part of our magical experience. I started off with the buffalo cauliflower. I will preface this by saying I'm not a big Buffalo flavor person, but I'm a vegetarian and didn't feel like getting my usual vegetarian app - brussel sprouts. I wanted to expand my palate that evening and surprisingly I actually really liked it. The amount of blue cheese was perfect for me (despite the reviews) as it would have made it too salty and greasy. Next was my entree: Modified Kettle Cooked Zoodles. As a vegetarian, I never have the highest expectations but I was blown away! Chris our server was so sweet to have this customized for me. We took the idea of hubby's Branzino sauce and added more veggies to the Kettle cooked Zoodle dish. It was so yummy! Hubby's Branzino: fish was well cooked, elegant flavors from the Puttanesca sauce with spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent! Faux-ito: I got two, the first was the classic, the second was a mix of strawberry and pineapple. Both delicious mocktails! The Forbidden Pear: hubby got this one. very balanced, not sticky sweet. I can't believe this gem is just sitting here in Fairfield. Not too far off from a night in the city. We will definitely be back!
