Arrachera, whipped papa and a quesadilla.
    Yvonne Marie Z.

Where do I start?... Its our 14th yr anniversary and we are out for a fun evening. Originally we came to the new Brazilian Churrascaria only to find out its a buffet and quickly left. The valet guy asked if we wanted to try the best steak cuts, we had to walk across the street to the Rinconcito. We briskly walked and passed two mature very friendly women having a light discussion in the front, as we rushed by smiling and nodding to each other good evening pleasantries. The door man apologized, and said they just closed at 8pm, eventhough its 5 mins til... We shrugged and sounded disappointed, but totally understood since it was a Wednesday and during Covid. The lovely ladies intervened and asked if we would allow them to check to see if the grill was still on, we were confused. Only to hear a waiter come out and confirm it was all shut off and cleaned already. The second woman assured the first woman that the grill could easily be turned on for us this one time, since they closed early and it was a special night for us. We were shocked, but soooo grateful. They proceeded to provide us seating and menus efficiently. We assured them we would eat fast. They insisted we order as usual and enjoy ourselves. They offered a wonderful Malbec glass of wine that was delicious. My NY and my husbands Arrachera cuts were the best we've ever had. The salsa variety was delicious. The shrimps were like small lobster. The lentil soup as a starter, superb. They served a oven baked potato, but the best part of it was the whole inside was whipped and placed back into the skin . The owner asked how we liked everything afterwards, and was so sweet and accomadating and genuinely showed she cared. We found out this gem has been here in Tijuana by thier family for 4 generations. The two women are the family owners of this and many highly rated restaurants from the old school times and still the top in the city. A must try for a low light romantic and intimate good eating, good service spot! A place you'd meet the Godfather at for a VIP meeting. We are fans!

Rib eye steak with bone marrow

The staff were overly obsessive in their COVID-19 cleaning procedures. The table Ordered the rib eye with bone marrow x 2. The meal was prepared well and the food was delicious and seasoning on the steaks was nothing watering. Overall a nice low key ambience in a tucked away area of Tijuana without all the hoopla of the big restaurants in the area which seek to vacuum in all the available customers.

The full bar is great, but the wine selection is limited. A memorable stop with some highs and a few misses.

This place named itself "sushi bar," but it also says it's an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant?…read moreThat feels like an identity crisis lol. I was given chips, salsa, and an appetizer soup thing in a cup. The chips were fine. I thought the soup was alright. I didn't like the salsa as I found it too watery and lacking in flavor, more like a hot sauce than a salsa. I ordered two hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll. I thought they were good. I found the salmon skin too crispy and deep fried for my preference, but it was still good. Finally, I realized that not only do I never eat authentic Mexican seafood, I'm not even sure what that entails. So I dug through the menu and saw something called "Don Tono," described as stuffed with seafood, but without much other explanation. I asked the waitress what this Don Tono is exactly, and to my surprise, she wasn't sure either. So, of course I had to order it. It was a big thing of aluminum foil with goodies inside, kinda like a seafood bake. It was good, although I found the flavor to be a undertuned. I would've liked some Cajun seasoning. The best texture and taste was probably the fish itself as it was light and flaky without being mushy, and it absorbed the umami of some of the other seafood. I thought the shrimp and shellfish were just okay, and maybe just a tad overcooked for me. Honestly, I was also not a huge fan of the cheese here; I feel like it doesn't quite fit. I also got some rice and salad with it, which were both fine.

They have much more open food selection with much wider variety either Mexican or regular American style food. They will literally always at all times be passing by with meat, you would literally get sick of it and just have to turn the sign off (even then they still come with meat lol) The service is absolutely top notch and they made sure that we have everything we needed! Even come by all the time to see if there's any meat we would like to request so they could bring it for us!!!! That's just never happened with us before!!!!!!! We had a birthday there, and I tell you they really know how to do a celebration right, you will get the very much loud and fun birthday shoutout. Also they will make you chug a shot and shake your head like they do over there. It was so special and to be remembered. Parking structure is small there, but they do have valet and they'll take care of it for you. (I believe it's only valet parking there, I could be wrong. But we got the valet parking) Price can't be beat for the quality and amount of food. Absolute steal. 2 people on a weekend with a birthday celebration and couple soft drinks and water came to be about $80ish-$90. Which if you know how much Brazilian steakhouses in the US cost, you'd know how good of a deal that is!!!!!!!! Overall, it really sucks that this place is far away, otherwise I'd have been there every weekend :) But it is a stable to go to every time I'm in Mexico.

The entrance, the dim lighting, the immaculate polished wood tables and upbeat music, elegant decor, and the chandeliers, all added to the inviting warm ambiance. So the stage was set and my evening began with the complementary chips (very unique, thick, crispy with a charred taste), beans and salsa rojo. A good start. It was important for me to try something different. So, I opted for the Esmeralda Shrimp that comes in a piping hot molcajete bowl. Surprisingly, the manager tried to discourage me from ordering this item. Maybe he knew more than me (read below). In spite of this advice, I stuck to my guns. The Shrimp is doused in a cilantro salsa verde with au gratin potato peel. Essentially, thin deep fried string potatoes. Also came with breaded cheese rolls (2 of them) sticking out of the bowl. The dish was overpowered by the excess of cilantro salsa (that had too much lime). For texture, there was too much cheese around and it took away the spotlight from the main attraction, the small shrimp (which were cooked well). I now realized that I had ordered the wrong dish. Oh well. Service was attentive and good.
