Tabla Suprema I believe
Denise V.

I went here for a late lunch during the week and we were seating right when we got there. I must say the steak was delicious and I will def be going back. I like my steak medium so if ordering a smaller cut I would suggest ordering a medium rare. I had the smaller cut and it was a little over cooked but my friend had the bigger cut and it was perfect. I believe we ordered the tabla suprema and everything about it was perfect including the price! However, the molcajete salsa was super spicy with no flavor at all other than the chile and tomatoes so I would suggest sticking to their table salsas.

First time here. Food was decent. We had the Platter for two. The bacon was very undercooked. Service was decent. Price was on the higher side for being in Mexico. I don't think I'll be back.

I want to bone this !!!!!

The food is amazing very good Steaks price is on point I've been to this Restaurant 4 times and it's always great Food and Service and Value I would recommend if you like Steaks or Meat

Desert: Not sure what it is but it was good. Has the flan consistency but without the carmalized bottom flavor.

Ordered to-go and I was pleased with each dish full of flavor. The chicken breast was juicy and had that grilled taste, seasoned enough to add flavor and not drown in spices. The carne / steak was also marinated and full of flavor, the steak was juicy and tender. The frijoles charros were good but the serving was so small, it was served to-go in the same cup size they use for the salsa not sure if it's also served that way if you eat in. The desert was good too, it looks like flan but not flan, honestly I don't know what it was but it was good.

Excellent food and service! Very clean and welcoming environment. The food was delicious! The meats were tender and very well seasoned, and the price was just right. We feasted on this for less than 50 dollars. This meal could easily had fed 5 people, had to take a lot of meat home. In the picture is, Grilled chicken, top sirloin, flanken ribs, rib eye, skirt steak and Spanish chorizo. Meal comes with beef broth, chili bean bowl, a baked potato, and a carnitas taco.

Grilled Steak, Mexican chorizo and empanada.

This restaurant is a definite must try if you are a big meat eater. The food here is very flavorful, generous portions, great price, excellent service and tasty drinks as well.

Order the ribeye anejo medium rare, the steak was a bit tough for the price and undercooked. The jalapeño poppers were amazing.

You'd think that they have this for the Americans, but don't overlook the sliders, they're not your usual dry burger sliders! They're al pastor sliders complete with pineapple! They also have cocktails and margaritas but I decided not to get alcoholic drinks this time around. The dessert section is huge. Each dessert is a bite-sized portion so you can try a little bit of everything! And of course the meats! I loved the beef, pork and the sausages that I got. For some reason, all the chicken ones didn't really hit the spot for me. They weren't bad though. The grilled shrimps were particularly juicy and good.

Parking here is no problem, they have a sizable lot, as well as valet parking. The place is pretty big, clean, and nicely decorated. One we got our table, we went to the salad bar area and got a plate of whatever items were going to complement our choices of meat. At the table, we got a tab where green meant we wanted to be offered a cut of meat, and red meant stop. I mainly went for the lean beef and chicken cuts. The meat options were tasty, and the variety at the salad bar was pretty good. At the tail end of dinner, we were offered cinnamon flavored pineapple, which is one of my favorites. This Brazilian steakhouse is on point. The staff here was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The meal was as satisfying as the experience here. I recommend it.

Checked this spot out this past Mexican Independence Day due to the good reviews. It's located in…read morethe Zona Rio area, which is an area packed with very well-regarded, highly-rated restaurants in TJ. The restaurant is located directly behind the TGI Friday's on General Rodolfo Sánchez Taboada Boulevard. Got there around 1:30 pm, not too long after they opened. Not many people in there, though that wasn't surprising given that it was a Monday and a federal holiday. One thing I love about Mexican fine dining restaurants is they tend to be very lax on dress code; I was dressed casually but that wasn't a problem. I don't think they technically have a dress code, though a comparable fine dining steak restaurant in the U.S. might not have let me in given that I was casually (although neatly) dressed. Was nearly empty so was seated immediately. Waiter was an older male who spoke pretty good English. Was brought out Acqua Panna spring water while I looked over the menu. I first ordered a frozen strawberry margarita (209 pesos or roughly $11). The margarita was solid and tasty. For my meal I decided to go with the petit ribeye (300g ribeye), which came with a complimentary side (chose mashed potatoes) and the soup of the day (potatoes and cream). The petit ribeye was 1389 pesos (~$73 USD). While waiting for the main meal, they brought out bread and then the soup (which came with crackers). Really liked the soup. The bread was perfectly fine, though nothing special. They provided standard crackers but there were also some very large, circular crackers they provided that I didn't really like. After finishing the soup and bread they brought out the ribeye and potatoes. Both were very good, the ribeye in particular was well-cooked and tasty. Not the best ribeye I've had in my life or anything like that, but it was solid. I also liked the spicy sauce and pico condiments that came with the meal. The ribeye and margarita came to 1598 pesos total; after tip the total bill came out to around $100 USD. While I enjoyed the meal, I don't think I'd return to El Grill at that price point. I've had better steak/ribeye meals for less even in the U.S. and had better meals for much less in TJ. But the meal here was good and I'd still recommend for anyone who's never been, just as a place to check out. The waiter and customer service overall was great and very attentive.

We decided to try this place because of the amazing Google reviews!…read more but boy, were we wrong! Hear me out. From the moment we arrived, we felt rushed to our seats. We asked to move outside to catch the game, and while the server accommodated us, it was clear he wasn't too thrilled about it. We started with drinks, which were actually great; so good that we ended up ordering three rounds plus shots! For appetizers, we had the grilled bone marrow and empanadas, followed by a New York strip loin (recommended by the server) with creamy spinach and truffle fries. The empanadas and fries were delicious, but the steak was completely bland, definitely not worth the price. We asked for a spicy salsa, and the server brought one out "on the house," which was amazing. I even asked to take the leftover salsa home. Now, here's where things turned shady. Throughout the meal, the server kept upselling us on everything; which we didn't mind since we were having a good time. But when the bill came, we noticed he charged us for the leftover salsa that he originally said was complimentary! It wasn't about the money, but the principle. We asked him to remove the charge and told him to forget the salsa. The manager noticed what happened, took care of the charge, and even packed the salsa with our leftovers. The server, however, never returned to the table after that. The ambiance and cleanliness were fine, but overall, the experience left a bad taste. VERDICT: I will not be coming back.

Both the mocktails and the cocktails were delightfully tasty. Our waiter Fernando was exceptional, going as far as to bring us the various cuts of meat when we have questions about what to order. The meat! The meat! The best steak my wife and I have had I'm recent memory! She had the Bite de Lomo. I had the arrechera. We both couldn't have been happier with our choice. We're already talking about making a trip down from San Diego to have dinner here!

It is rich melted cheese with chorizo served with tortillas. My other favorite appetizer is Cecina de Venado which is a sort of venison jerky. Don't expect the tough jerky you get at gas stations. No, this venison jerky is full of flavor and isn't completely dry. For the main meal I order the Parrilladas. Which comes with several sides. First is a cup of caldo de res, which is a beef stock soup. A salad, chips, salsa, a quesidilla and a bowl for pickled carrots, potatoes, onions and liver. The meat comes served on a hibachi like grill, still cooking the meat. You can choose three different meat combinations. The original which is ribs, carne asada and tripes. Next is the Silvestre which is venison, quail and goat. Lastly is the Vaquero which is sirloin, chicken breast and chorizo. The quail was spiced to mellow out the gamey flavor. It was excellent. For dessert, I ate a coyota, a sugar cookie filled with a brown sugar mixture. This is not like an American sugar cookie as a coyota is not that sweet. On hot days, I get a lime michelada with Sol and is light and refreshing. So if you want a real cowboy experience I highly recommend this restaurant. The decor is John Wayne, John Wayne and taxidermy. The waitors are fantastic. They brought me a chair without arms so that my rear wasn't squeezed into the regular chairs.
