    Pescado Ceviche

Love the food here, especially the lomo saltado and ceviche. The service and ambiance here are also amazing.

Quality place with authentic menu! Really good selection of seafood. Hope more people start to check them out, would definitely recommend

    Lomo Soltado and Mushroom Ceviche

My husband is Peruvian and said it was the best lomo saltado he's had in the states! I am vegetarian and so I've never had ceviche but they had mushroom ceviche and it was soooo good. It was so hot the day we went too and the ceviche was a nice refreshing, fresh meal.. The service was friendly, fast but not too rushed. They listened to our needs. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious inside and it has a very authentic feeling.

    Cevichito y su lomo

AMAZING ceviche!! By far the best ceviche peruano in northern CA. Their lomo saltado is also so yummy. We will definitely be going back.

The arroz (rice) was especially delicious with a perfect amount of spice. We also got a couple of drinks, which were strong but balanced and tasted how they were described in the menu. We sat outside and enjoyed live music from the band next door on a Friday night. The inside of the restaurant is large and trendy. The service was very kind and helpful when we had questions about the menu. The bathroom was in the back corner behind the kitchen, and it had a coded lock (be sure to ask for the code before walking all the way back there). Overall we had a great experience and loved everything we ordered.

I also was very curious about Peruvian ceviche. Mexican-style ceviche is one of my favorite things and I make it a lot, but had never had Peruvian ceviche. It seemed like the perfect lunch. The restaurant is really beautiful inside, with wood and stone and earthy colors. The place settings are all very nice handcrafted ceramics and the bar was a giant wooden fancy installation. During the day it was very quiet, but with all the hard surfaces, I imagine it was pretty boisterous at night. I told the waitperson that I was interested in ceviche and whether he had recommendations. He pointed me towards the ceviche carretillero (cart ceviche), which he said also had their house ceviche, fried calamari, fried yucca and plaintains and that it would be more substantial for a lunch. I later looked up "ceviche carretillero" and found out that in Peru, a street food was ceviche topped with crunch fried calamari and that it was very popular and served out of carts! The preparation was lovely, with a pile of their fish of the day, which was a type of cod, in the middle with shredded onions on top. surrounding it was fried calamari, sweet potato, yucca, and extremely thin and beautifully fried plaintain strips. He offered to pour the small pitcher of Sangre de tigre on top and I agreed. Sangre de tigre is the marinade used to "cook" the fish. It is different than Mexican ceviche!! While not spicy with chiles, it was spicy with ginger and I don't know what else. It hits your throat, not your palate, which I thought was so interesting. I would not say it was "hot spicy", but I did cough a bit when I swallowed! It was very good! The fish was cut into fairly big rough pieces so you could really taste it. The calamari was excellent, as were the yucca and plaintain. I used the plaintain like I would fried tortillas in a Mexican ceviche, and using it almost like a spoon. I don't know if that was proper or not, but it worked for me! The Yucca would have been perfect with some mojo sauce, but that's a Cuban thing. I wonder if their is a comparable Peruvian sauce? The portion was generous and perfect for someone who came to lunch hungry. I really enjoyed my little middle of the day splurge lunch!

The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. Overall, a fantastic experience and easily one of the best Peruvian meals I've had in the area. Highly recommend. A bright and clean space with understated decor. Portions are good so you might want to skip appetizers though we tried the Calamari which was good and the Yuca Frita was sublime. Small wine list with good choices from South America and if you order by the glass you will be amazed at the size of the pours; double what one would normally get! Two of us had the Paella which was very good, a third ordered the excellent Lamb Shank and the fourth had the top notch Pork Rib platter which completely disappeared very quickly. Perhaps next time we'll try the Ceviche as we will return if they can remain in business with such little traffic. While not inexpensive the value is solid as you would pay far more in any other good Sonoma County restaurants for similar dishes. Polite if a bit shy service but man did she light up when we went head over heels over her family home made hot sauces which are a "must try" if you have an appropriate appetizer. Ask for them as they bring you tasty but not too spicy standard condiments. Oh, and very clean restrooms and well paced food serving times. Keep this place open, try it sooner vs later.

I got the crispy jalea sandwich ($16) described as fried calamari tossed in chunio flour, panca powdered topped with salsa criolla, homemade roccotto aioli on a ciabatta bread. I opted for the house fries over the salad because I love me some fries. It was very good, the calamari was tender and not greasy in the slightest. The fries were Kennebec potatoes that melted in your mouth - light, crispy and tasty. My friend got the mixed seafood ceviche ($19) which came with fish, one green lip mussel, scallops, shrimp, calamari, and clams. cancha corn, choclo corn (reminded me of fresh corn nuts LOL) slice of baked yam, and platano macho chip. I tried the fish portion as I hadn't experienced shellfish as ceviche before and was a bit wary, but my friend who loves Peruvian food said it was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices are a tad bit higher for credit card, like less than 1%. Will totally come back here just for the fries alone.
