We were visiting the area over the holiday weekend and I searched Yelp for a place to eat. This place won out. I made reservations online for dinner and we arrived a little early but were able to be seated right away on the outdoor patio balcony. It was a beautiful day and the patio was a great place to enjoy ourselves. Our server was on it and I couldn't make up my mind and asked for a recommendation and she said she loved the burgers. I order the Riley and my boyfriend ordered Dre's BBQ. Neither of us were disappointed. I had fries and he had the onion rings ( they were delicious) perfectly cooked and crispy, I would definitely order those if I return to the area. Forgot to take a picture. I decided to take my lady on a date to Riley's on Sutter as we had heard good things about the restaurant. We ordered the Chicken BLAT and the Honey Salmon. The Chicken BLAT was just okay as neither the bacon or chicken were juicy. The bacon was not crispy at all and the chicken seasoning was rather bland. The fries were the star of the show along with the blue cheese dip as they were crispy on the outside on soft on the inside. Unfortunately, the Honey Salmon dish was even worse as the salmon was raw on the inside, lacked juiciness, and was not seasoned very well as they seemed to solely rely on honey for flavor. The dish was not very cohesive either as the zucchini, rice, and cabbage did not work well with the honey flavor of the salmon. The price was also tough to swallow with the Chicken BLAT being $19 and the Honey Salmon being $25. The portion sizes were okay, but didn't justify the prices, especially because the food was mediocre at best. Maybe this is just standard Sutter St. prices as Plank Kitchen is relatively similar, but you can go elsewhere in Folsom and get better food for better prices. On a positive note, the service was good. The waitress was nice and helpful and the food came out relatively quickly. The rooftop deck setting is kind of cool too. Overall, we were disappointed with the quality of food that got for the price that we paid and will likely not come here again. read more

Had a great lunch at Riley's. My friend and I both got the wagyu burger and it was delicious. Hot, melted cheese, perfectly cooked burger on a fresh bun. Onion rings hot and crispy and not greasy. Fries were basic but good. Each got a well poured drink. Service was excellent. Never needed anything. Loved all the dog photos. Sat outside under an umbrella watching the hustle and busle of Sutter and Riley street. The perfect weather was an added bonus. We will definitely be back. read more

Newer spot in downtown Folsom, Riley's on Sutter has a prime location and seems to be rather popular. We arrived around 4:30 and were seated right away, on a Saturday. As we were leaving, though, several parties were coming in, having made dinner reservations. Plan accordingly since it seemed to be filling up! It's upstairs location with town views and a large patio are a big draw. Service was prompt and friendly. We were seated outside, along the side and I was sort of worried we'd be forgotten but that wasn't at all the case. Menu is basic salads, burgers, and flatbread pizzas but with some interesting options like their tater tots and an elevated tuna melt with capers, which my partner got. I ordered the veggie pizza which had a bit of pesto added and lots of colorful tomatoes and peppers. Portions are huge and there were plenty one leftovers. Really cool spot. I've never before found a "must go again" spot in Folsom, but have now! Definitely would eat at Riley's next time I'm in town. read more

We stoped in for a quick bite and had a great experience. Violet was our waitress and she was very sweet and provided excellent service. I ordered these ahi Asian salad and it was loaded with perfectly seasoned, grilled ahi, the little mandarins added just the right amount of sweetness. An excellent and hardy salad. My husband has the grilled chicken sandwich which had bacon that was thick and added great flavor to the chicken sandwich. It came with fries or you could upgrade to taste tots or a salad. This place had a little bit of everything--and everything was good! I ordered the Wagyu Burger and my dad got the Bison Burger, and we each swapped halves so we could try both. The Bison Burger was amazing--juicy, flavorful, and not gamey at all (which I was a little worried about since I'm sensitive to that). The buns were soft and fresh, which made the whole thing even better. The Wagyu Burger had blue cheese, which I didn't realize when I ordered it--that one's on me. I'm not a huge fan of blue cheese, but it had an interesting touch of honey that made it stand out. My dad, on the other hand, loved it, so it still ended up being a win. My mom had the steak taco salad, and it was excellent. The steak pieces were huge and tender, and the taco shell was crispy and flavorful. My sister's boyfriend ordered the birria tacos, and they looked great--he seemed really happy with them. My sister originally ordered the spicy chicken waffle sliders, but ended up sending them back because they weren't quite what she expected. She switched to the Riley Street Burger instead, and said it was good. She's a little harder to please, but even she was satisfied in the end. The tater tots were a bit overdone, and the waffles on the sliders looked darker than other yelp pictures hence why she sent them back--maybe the fryer oil needed to be changed--but the flavors were still there. The service was excellent! Our waitress was super nice and attentive, and the staff in general was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean, had a nice atmosphere, and we were seated right away after making a reservation online. All in all, it was a great experience. I ordered tacos, Marty ordered a bison burger, I think Katie and Liz both had steak salads. The server was super friendly and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I was surprised there were only two tacos on the stainless three taco holder. A small side of chips and salsa. It worked out, I wasn't super hungry. Marty asked for his burger medium rare and it was well done. If it was a steak, he'd have sent it back. There were a lot of flies in the place. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar while we waited for our table and the service + drinks were great! Everything went downhill after that. Our app we ordered prior to moving to our table on the patio was great (burratta and crispy prosciutto) but we probably waited 15 mins before the 2 servers walking around even made eye contact with us. A lot of attention was given to the table of drinkers behind us and the family who was seated after us was waiting a bit for a first touch too. The outdoor patio was cool and not overcrowded, even though it was full. The Wagyu Burger was alright - too much Gorgonzola and not enough of anything else but cooked perfectly. I have to say I was a little skeptical about coming here again. Before they closed to regroup this place was a joke. Bad service and completely disorganized. My friend and I decided to try the new version and it was outstanding to say the least! We sat at the bar for lunch. The burgers and fries were incredibly delicious! We were waited on by the bartender lady. She did the most unbelievable job of taking great care of us and all the waitstaff coming with orders. Not once did she display a frown. We take all our guests to our favorite places when they're here visiting us in Folsom and this hamburger joint is on the top of the list. Clean and conveniently located on the corner of Sutter Street and Riley Street - upstairs. The service is fast and friendly with delicious hamburgers and all the fixings you will need. Pickles are great and their onion rings are perfectly cooked. They have music on the patio on weekends in the summer. Free parking in the lot below the street or right up front, if you're lucky. Decided to try this restaurant during our weekend trip to Folsom. We were greeted by the hostesses and got seated right away. However, 20 minutes went by without ever seeing our server or ordering drinks. We waited another 10 minutes before asking another worker if she could send our server over. She replied, "yes, one second" and walked away. Then we still sat there for another 15 mins with no one to help us. We ended up leaving after almost an hour of waiting to even order drinks or even a "Hello". We were initially excited to try this restaurant, but ultimately won't be coming back. We had the most wonderful experience at Riley's. We went on Father's Day and they were quick to get us (party of 6 + baby) in, even after we were running late for our reservation. The team was so kind in moving us to a room with more space once they realize how close we were sitting at the table. Riley's is a 4 month old bar & restaurant upstairs across from the Folsom hotel. The place is nice, clean and comfortable. The staff and servers are welcoming and efficient. The food is just ok. After hearing such rave reviews, we were excited to try this new restaurant, but we left underwhelmed. The bison burger was a bit dry and tough, and the brioche was a weird kind of chewy. The cheese was either very mild sliced cheddar or some American processed product. The salad was fine. The nachos were again just ok. The chips were fresh but the chicken had a strange "been on heat lamps too long" consistency. I'd wish for more guac and less beans. Overall, they have potential but they're in a crowded field with many strong competitors less than a block away. read more

We called and were quoted a 30 min wait for 5 people around 6pm but luckily you can put your name in over phone. I live in LA and I visit my family twice a year. last Thanksgiving. My brother brought me to Riley's for lunch with the family and my nephew mentioned how Zia had won runner-up for her cocktail that year and I ordered it so I ordered "walk the lime". I absolutely fell in love with it so did my brother and after lunch we went and met with Zia and she was so happy to give me the list of ingredients and I tell you I went home and I practiced making that cocktail and now everybody loves it. I'm so grateful to her for her generosity. This past April, I came back up to Sacramento to visit the family and I told my brother I have to go back to have that cocktail , low and behold, I heard this time Zia won for best cocktail and so of course I had to have it. and it's called stay golden, I loved it of course Zia wasn't there, but one of her coworkers was and she was only too happy to make it and help me with the recipe of ingredients. I took my kids to old Folsom for the first time for my sons birthday today. We visited this establishment for lunch as we were told they had burgers and fries. We waited initially for 7-minutes in the entry lobby to be helped, greet and, seated. Nobody else was in the lobby waiting to be seated. There were no menus to look at either. An older couple arrived right after us. The young hostess came up and helped the older couple that came in after us instead of helping us. We ended up waiting another 7-minutes until the manager came to help. He apologized for the wait. I didn't catch his name since he wasn't wearing a name badge. Bald head, glasses, and goatee. I explained how the hostess completely passed us up to help the older couple that came in after us. We were also standing right in front of the the older couple at the hostess table. I couldn't help but notice that we were the only minorities in the establishment. I told the manager that the hostess passing us up is unacceptable. He apologized for her poor service. When I asked him if the poor service and the hostess passing us up to help the older non minority couple was due to our race he flipped out and walked away. While we were leaving the establishment that's when the hostess finally asked to seat us. I told her we were leaving and she rolled her eyes. Absolutely poor service here and possible racist intentions. Bad reflection for my kids first visit to old Folsom. This is 2025 and I shouldn't have to explain racism to my boys while visiting Folsom. Shame on Riley's for prioritizing older non-minority couple over a minority family that was waiting in the lobby first. Shame on the manager for not trying to explain why we were passed over for the older couple. Walking away from a problem instead of addressing it is not the right way of providing customer service Riley's. Rolling your eyes in front of my kids is very childish of the hostess. read more
