NOT LARGE PARTY FRIENDLY my party and I were 6 people. We were quoted 35-45 minutes. They toast system they use counted down the time and eventually just said "wait time 0 minutes". After it sitting that way for 10 minutes we walked up to ask were we were at in the wait list. They said it was going to be another 30 minutes. I voice my aggravation as I felt we were mislead and now our time is almost doubled. If we had been told that previously we would have gone somewhere else. She stated that there was shift change and the host (who was still there and actively working) worked independently and kind of just did her own thing didn't account for the rush they had. She then offered to accommodate us with a chair at another table and said she would check and see if they could. She left, then came back, walked to the host stand, checked another person in and began talking. One of the members of my party asked her what they said and she stated "oh yea, there's a risk of someone leaning and falling back so we can't do it", so I guess she was just never going to tell us??? Anyways - we waited another 35 minutes - so we checked in at 8:50, got sat at 10:18. I got the brisket hash and the meat was bad and the hashbrowns are like a potato bake, but other than that food was okay and really expensive. We told our story to the waitress and she said "yea it's really bad and it's going to get worse tomorrow". If you have a party of 4+ literally do not come here lol, 4 "big tables" to accommodate 6 people. Went there for Sunday brunch and waited for 45 minutes and let me tell you it was well worth the wait! Clean laid back vibes with a full bar and bakery. I had the breakfast special which included 2 strips of bacon and sausage plus a slice of smoked ham with fluffy scrambled eggs and hash browns. Honestly I couldn't finish my meal also the coffee was the best I've had in a while. It was so good that we went back a second time before we headed back home. I had the Johnson's pancakes which had banana chocolate chips and candied pecans with a side of bacon...outstanding! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place. I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, my recent visit to Ridleys was deeply disappointing due to the service experience. From the moment we were seated, things started to go downhill. It took an hour and a half for our food to arrive, with very little communication or updates during that time. Our waitress was inattentive, checking in only once or twice throughout the entire wait. when the food finally came out it was not hot (like it had been sitting out) and another one of the plates was completely burnt. When we finally spoke with the manager to voice our concerns, we expected at least some form of acknowledgment or effort to make things right. Instead, the manager listened briefly, said nothing, and simply walked away from our table without addressing the issue at all. That level of disregard for customer feedback was truly unacceptable. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but a lack of basic courtesy and communication is inexcusable. Sadly, this experience has made it unlikely we will return or recommend this place to others. read more

I got the Ham Bennie & my bf got the islander plate and it was so bad I wanted to cry had to use a steak knife to cut the bread bc it was so tough & it was literally bending the medal on my knife. The pancake was good, but the toast was toasted too dark. The orange juice is great, but the hash brown patty is overcooked and greasy from being deep fried. I can't think of a time when I had such poor service. The place wasn't that busy but took forever to be waited on and then our food sat under "the warming lamp" for at least 10 minutes before another waitress brought it to us. Our waiter never checked on us throughout the whole meal. Finally we flagged someone down for our check and reported the nonexistent service and she replied that they had been given "lots of other tasks to do". Unbelievable. Just left after an hour with nothing to eat. We ordered drinks and then we ordered. We ordered an appetizer of Hot Honey Shrimp, my wife ordered Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and I ordered Lobster Bisque. After 30 mins we ordered two more drinks. About that time my wife said the plate at the far left under the warmer looked like her dish she had ordered. At 40 I asked our server about our food. She went and asked and came back and said 10 mins more. We waited 10+ more and then I asked our server again and she asked and said 2 more mins. I told her at that time about the one sitting under the lights and she assured me that wasn't hers. Well sure as shit I watched them pick it up along with my bisque and when she brought it I told her that was the same one. She asked my wife to please cut into the eggs. Hard as a rock. My wife and I went in and ordered two different frittatas. Very disappointing. They were huge, but dry and very little taste. I had the veggie, the sundried tomato was so tough I had to pull it out and put it to the side. The brisket in my wife's tex-mex frittata was very dry. It was like they just dumped 5 eggs in a frying pan, topped them with some veggies, etc., then cheese - not much taste. I wish I had ordered the blueberry pancakes, those looked good. But I wanted some protein also - wish the pancakes came with an egg or two. Positives: the place was cute, we liked the vibe and the t.v.s that were showing undersea creatures floating around - so much better than sports or depressing news all over the walls. The servers were very nice and helpful. There were some huge slices of carrot cake in the front cabinet that looked amazing - if we went back we'd probably just share a slice and have some of their yummy-looking cocktails. But do not get the frittata! Also, the sourdough toast they served me was limp and not even toasted much. Let me count all the ways this place is amazing. The service is good, the food all fresh, homemade and. Exceptional. Thus far we've had the lobster rolls, lobster bisque and on another visit, the lobster Benedict. All flavorful, the soup is chock full of meat and is a rich meal in itself, complete with a toasted baguette for dunking. Lobster rolls are a fair size, full of meat and come with a side. Their Benedict comes with a lobster tail split on top of the Benedicts. I ordered a hash brown which was a wonderful crispy cake to go with it. Husband had sausage, eggs and pancakes and said pancakes were amazing. We observed meals ordered around us for other patrons, from the fried chicken sandwich to a vegetable frittata, all were sizable and looked amazing. Their baked goods are all in house and delicious. Excited to have a birthday cake made in the near future. Found out they are looking at extending hours to include dinner service. I hope their menu continues to be as diverse and delicious as their current menu. The nice thing is that it is casual and relaxed atmosphere, yet upscale in menu offerings. We had the most pleasurable service and tasty adult beverages for the soft openening. The drink menu offered an exciting assortment of hand crafted cocktails, multiple styles of bloodymary's and a sparkling wine mimosa flight made up assorted flavors of juices to combine with a prosecco to enjoy your the flavor of mimosa you desire to taste. The bar menu has a great selection of Rums and darker spirits to choose from. The Beer on tap is from a local brewery, Nueces County. I order the bottle of prosecco whcih came sin a flight style to pair with many flavors of juices. I personally found the peach juice I combined with my glass of prosecco to be such a vitalizing combination which made my tatse buds dance. The hand crafted cocktail I enjoyed most during this was the Gin-Ridley's purple drop drink. For me not normally being a juniper berry fan, this Gin-Ridley's was to die for. The butterfly tea, simple syrup, combined with Gin and egg whites and all shaken together by the bartender, Miguel, was prepared to enjoy with perfection. This Martini was most definitely this allstar of the bar. This establishment was a comfortable style of booth seating with many to seat at the bar. The main dinning area is filled with a nautical oceanic surf style decor which frames the iconic image of sea life and sea turtles. The restaurants food menu is an extensive fun breakfast, burnch, lunch item style menu which has yet to be released. I cant wait to come back and try the food. Items that excite my taste buds are the, crab cakes, gritz balls, biscuits and gravey, strawberry short pancakes, lobster egg Benedict, cheese gritz, smoked and bbq pork belly sandwiches, and many other exciting menu items. The service here during this visit was enjoyable, kind and freindly. I can envision this restaurant to be the iconic place to have a great brunch while enjoying a relaxing morning before spending a full day at the beach.
