The blackened chicken salad was flavourful and a decent portion. There are numerous craft beers on site, but not on tap, just cans. We tried the 2 desserts they offered: Elvis cheesecake- cheesecake with banana slices and peanut butter. (It was awesome!) Oreo bread pudding - this one was a miss for us. The bread was in whole pieces instead of cut up making it more manageable to eat since the egg mixture would be able to seep into each piece better. Instead, it was tough to cut. read more

The Bar & Grill is a casual, clean, modern bar and grill that does embody its namesake. I have been here several times since they opened, and honestly can't find anything to complain about. They have a pretty decent menu that is more than just "bar food". In fact, the concept began by adding Chef Robert Flores Jr. ("Chef Rob") "to bring contemporary twists on traditional food bites." Probably what I like most about this place is its atmosphere. Laidback South Texas vibes for sure, reinforced by its location in the underrated Flour Bluff area of Corpus. Its patronized and ran by good people. As I recall, this place opened either right before or shortly after the beginning of the Pandemic. As I have remained acutely aware of what those events had on small businesses (I am a banker, and I am also a "foodie"), I had initial concerns that this place may not have pulled through like so many others had not. Luckily, they weathered the storm, and here they remain representing South Texas culture at its best. If you are visiting Corpus, and have plans to head to North Padre Island, be sure to stop by here on your way there or back! read more

How this place got 4.3 stars IDK. People- sweet as can be! Ambience, outside looked like a hole in the wall and shut down. Inside was decent. The fried pickles were ok. Not sure why they call them spicy. The blackened chicken avocado salad was less than thrilling. Unfortunately the chicken was so over salted I couldn't finish eating it. My husband's chicken pesto pasta was good. But again- the chicken- way over seasoned and a bit too much sauce made it soupy. The pasta was better without any bites of chicken in it. Nice people- but not a great food option for out of towners. read more

Our group ordered the tuna tacos, simply delish and love the spicy kick they have, Brussels sprout appetizer, also delish. Love the subtle sweet sauce they are glazed with, and the Birria ramen. I've had this twice now and it's been good both times but the first time was my fav as it had a little spicy kick which I loved and second time was still good but more on the mild side. read more

Fun atmosphere that was very adaptable to an entire town of football fans descending into the restaurant. The Bar & Grill is .5 miles away from Flour Bluff stadium and they were welcoming to rival team fans. I had the fish tacos and enjoyed the tortillas, fresh fish, and mango salsa. read more

Went for the first and last time. I ordered a patty melt and this is what I was served. No bacon, no sauce and the meat was overcooked. Asked for chili cheese fries on the side. I'm glad I checked my order before I left because it was regular fries. However, was changed a $3.00 up-charge. The bar tender corrected it right away. Chili was salty and cold. I could tell the chili was sitting there for a long while and tasted old. I won't go back and I won't recommend.. read more

Greta food! Servers are great and the overall atmosphere was awesome. I would definitely recommend!

Nice and simple atmosphere, kids friendly. We drove by many times in the past and when we saw the now open sign, we had to come here!! We made the right choice. I ordered hot and spicy burger which had hot Cheetos in them just to say I tried it, became my favorite burger!!!!! It was so tasty!!! My hubby ordered club sandwich, which was also good. Kids had grill cheese with orange slices and my other son had chicken fingers. They loved the food there. They also had dessert, Oreo cheesecake and miso crack pie. Oh my goodness!! Miso crack pie was so delicious!!! I usually don't eat sweets but it was great!!!!! We will go back there for sure. The only reason I gave 4 star was selection of beers...no local craft beers.. maybe some day soon I hope.. but I'm happy we finally found the place close by!! read more

We sat at the bar when we arrived. Food was slow but they were training. Bartender was amazing! She was friendly and outgoing. Kept up with us and the regulars were friendly. We had a blast! Food was really good too! We had the ribs, birria ramen, birria tacos and burger. read more

This place is local and we NEED local but the last 3 times we went it was awful. Although it is a full restaurant they don't have a kids menu. So if you order something for a 3 year old you pay 39 year old prices and they will NOT accommodate. I ordered toddler an omelette and asked them to just do one egg, less everything, etc. they refused and made a full 3 egg omelette...for a 3 year old. Next, my food was way undercooked so asked them to put back on for a bit and came back inedible. Now, went for the last time unfortunately. I ordered the chicken fried steak with smashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Potatoes were not smashed was the first clue. Waitress made a comment I couldn't hear so just thought whatever. Unfortunately they were not even close to done I couldn't cut them with my fork. Ugghhhh...it's just potatoes let me try the entree. Absolutely SCORCHED to the point where it could crack with a good hit on the table. They smothered it in so much gravy I barely had space to cut it. Obviously to hide the fact that it was massively overcooked. I did send it all back and they did take it off the bill, but I left hungry. Sucks because there is so little in the Bluff but, we will not go back. Seems like they can't keep staff. read more

I moved back to corpus back in January of 21. I've always loved the food. But the last 3 times I have been in there the food quality has been sub par, low quality. Maybe prices on food are going up and the gas to deliver them, but hold onto the quality charge me more. I mostly order the ahi tuna tacos, an appetizer, but the tuna was ehh and shells were stale. This the best place to eat in flour bluff when it's good. But I won't be going back for a while. It sucks to pay 14.00 for something that isn't as good as I know it can be. read more

Always great food and fine service. One of our favorites! Their Chicken Fried Steak is perfect. Try the lobster corn, it's wonderful.

Stopped in for dinner while staying at beach club for the weekend. Really good food, great service. Full bar with a good (canned) craft beer selection. We had Buffalo shrimp and duck wings as appetizers both were very good. $15 for 6 shrimp is a bit steep especially since we are at the coast but they were very good. For entrees we had: Buffalo chicken sandwich, chicken fried chicken with rice and asparagus, garlic Parmesan muscles, chicken pasta Alfredo, and the breakfast burger. Everything was a very large portion and prepared as asked. You could tell the chicken was freshly made and hand breaded. The rice was inconsistent and had some hard spots and the fries were a bit over salted but the food overall was very good. Would definitely recommend and return read more

Our last two orders have been to go, and both have disappointed. The last visit the hotdog and hamburger were both overcooked. Tonight I made a point to ask for both burgers medium rare, and they were so overcooked that they were hard and had no moisture in the patty. It is a shame because there is a lot of thought put into the menu, but at this point the kitchen needs some attention. read more

This place is amazing. Full bar to serve you any drinks. They have daily specials. Today, I had great flounder( it was very large) with fries and cole slaw, corn, and hush puppies at lunch. It was amazing and about $10.00 bucks. The chicken fried chicken was so fresh and it came with the most amazing Brussels sprouts, smashed potatoes and Texas toast. That was about $13.00 bucks. Large selection of beer and four or five big screen TVs. It was not loud and the young lady who served was courteous, helpful and incredibly nice. This is a five star place. Our group had reservations for 16 women for a celebration, however there was a miscommunication of some sort and our reservation wasn't put in the books. When we arrived, Ryan H waved his magic wand and made it happen! Ryan threw together a table large enough for our party and sat us immediately. He served us our dinner and drinks single-handedly, without missing a beat! Ryan H was hustling around making sure each lady in our group was enjoying herself, had the correct drinks, correct food order, and billed correctly. The food was fabulous, the drinks were flowing, and the music was nostalgic! Great place to eat, drink, and get together! Definitely will return! Ask for Ryan H! read more

This is a little hole-in-the-wall dive. I ate here about noon, and ordered the steak salad. Requested a substitution of olives, rather than onions. The establishment didn't have any olives. Good thing I didn't order a dry Martini, shaken not stirred, with olive. So, I ordered no onions. When I received the salad, it was a small cereal bowl full. The taste of the salad, while good, wasn't much to eat for $16. I filled up mostly on Arnold Palmer's. By the way, the patrons were nice here, and so was the bartender/waitress, Lola. And, no, I don't drink or smoke, this place was simply on the way back to the apartment. That reminds me. Bad language here. Not everyone speaks in the key of F. Be careful about bringing children here to eat. I saw a mom walk in with young kids. This is an adult establishment. read more

The fish tacos are amazing, but my sides were tasteless and bland. The Burgers are completely undercooked to almost raw with just a slight sear on the outside(meat tasteless.) The buffalo chicken sandwich is a nightmare to eat and not all that. & Philly cheese steak egg rolls cost 9$ for 2... pretty ridiculous seeing as how the queso dip was better than the appetizer itself. Fries have been dead cold both times I've eaten here ... not worth the price for mediocre food at best. read more

Suprized in the bluff. We were looking for something out if the way to avoid spring break on the island and tried thus place. Wow - not what we expected. Food was really good and a modest price. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich : huge and one of best ever hand. Right amount of crispy, hit sauce and blue cheesecake only downside was bun could not hold up to the juiceybess and kinda fell apart towards end so change over the knife and fork to finish all the yummy. Wife had chicken fried steak : completely different breading which was a happy suprize. She got the brussel sprouts as side; was worried at first cause the "sweet sauce" but turned out to be crazy genius - the sweet cuts through the tart sprouts and enhanced the crispy. Hidden gem: worth a try. read more

Good food and great service. It's nice to have a place like this in Flour Bluff. They also have a big selection of alcoholic beverages.

This was a great surprise for my family and I! We frequently visit Corpus Christi to see my husband's family, and we always enjoy trying new places. This one was truly a surprise...with a very un-assuming storefront, this restaurant has an unexpected menu in store. We visited on 8/26. We were immediately greeted upon entry, and all social distancing precautions were clearly in place while still encouraging patrons' comfort. The place was about half-full, plus or minus the patrons sitting at the bar. We were seated and our waitress immediately greeted us for our drink order. They have soft drinks available, as well as a full-service bar with a great selection. For our appetizers we ordered the Disco Fries and the Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls. The Disco Fries come out very similar to poutine, with french fries covered in brown gravy, queso, onions, and bacon. RIDICULOUS good! The Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls could be a meal on their own...it's a small dish but very hearty, and the meat is very flavorful without being greasy or dry. My 16-year-old son had the Mojo Loco and practically inhaled it; I was very disappointed not to get a bite to try, but he swears it was great and is something he'll order again. The dish comes as seasoned rice with a hamburger patty, 2 fried eggs, and brown gravy. My 11-year-old son had the OG Burger, and the patty was very juicy and flavorful. He said he was surprised that the bun was so light, and his fries were crispy - not a soggy/soft one to be found in the bunch. My husband had the Wagyu Steak Sandwich with pickled onions, sun-dried tomatoes, feta aioli, and a balsamic reduction. The flavors all went together so well...definitely a well thought out recipe. Coupled with an order of the truffle parmesan fries, this was a very satisfying meal. I ordered the Steak Avocado salad with a champagne vinaigrette dressing. The greens were very fresh and crisp, along with the avocado, tomatoes, and cucumber. It was a very simple salad that lets the natural flavors of the ingredients shine through, and the vinaigrette doesn't overpower any of it. This was such a pleasant surprise to find in the Bluff. This was bar food elevated, and we definitely look forward to coming back! read more

FRESH food! You can tell they take pride in what they make and they make it daily. The duck wings are by far my favorite appetizer. The drinks are always top notch. Me and my brother are big foodies and we were excited for a new restaurant to come to the bluff. The renovation of the restaurant was great, very spacious and inviting. We knew the last owners of the previous buisness in this building and it was a lot more closed off before so they really did a great job on the remodel. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was decent. My brother got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was crispy and delicious. I got the first burger off the menu, it was mediocre at most. Tasted like any burger from anywhere. I was a little annoyed that you have to pay extra to sub for fries instead of potato chips. I saw that they had truffle fries and got excited so we both opted to pay the extra $3 each to upgrade to those. These were not truffle fries, these were basic fries tossed in a little bit of parsley and a few pieces of shredded Parmesan. I was disappointed but not nearly as disappointed as I was when I asked for a side of ranch. I was told that they do not have ranch, in fact that "the owner is 100% against ranch and will not ever serve ranch". A little ridiculous if you ask me. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who is addicted to dipping their fries in ranch. The waitress suggested their peppercorn dressing instead, while it wasn't terrible, I was still sad about not having ranch. It was a little pricey but expected as much. The place has plenty of potential and I would maybe give another dish another shot but I guess I'll have to bring my own ranch next time read more
