Had the Texas plate with a beef taco. Carne Guisada and enchiladas were so so. Rice and beans were good. Beef taco was inedible. I was passing through this area around dinner time and decided to stop in since my local friend highly recommended it. Really glad I did. The food was great. I got two crunchy tacos and two pastor tacos. Both were great but the pork street tacos were the best. Service was slow but they were extremely busy so it's understandable. The place is Clean, the staff is nice and well trained. No rattling empty cup wanting a refill and try to flag someone down, they are there to wait on you and make you feel welcomed and it shows. A concept that is becoming lost. The food was delicious and value priced. I had the #2 Diablo burrito with fajita meet and i am ashamed to admit that I ate it all. It is big and too much food for a lightweight eater luckily I'm no lightweight. For food that is delicious and done right with a waitress staff that waits on you, you must come here. The service is excellent. The staff is really nice. The atmosphere is lively, but this evening it dim in here. The decor like someone's home. Our appetizer was nachos w bean and cheese only. Avocado was out and not being served. They used canned regrows beans, real cheddar and jalapeños. Had the Mojarra frita (whole fried tilapia) which was served with salad and French fries. The other dish was chicken enchiladas smothered in white cheese. That dish was served with rice, refried beans and small salad. My husband enjoyed it. Overall, the taste was good. Best mojaras (whole fried fish) in town. Delicious appetizers, the Nacho Con Todo (Fully loaded Nachos) bean, cheese, Chicken fajitas or beef fajitas and jalapenos are the bomb. From the moment you walk in, the staff is very courteous and attentive, consistently checking to see if you need anything. The food is served within a reasonable time and is very reasonable. I have tasted their enchiladas, quesadillas, charro beans and flautas and none has disappointed. The food has a good taste and is presented in a very appetizing manner. The restaurant is very clean and so are the bathrooms. I have always heard that a restaurant that maintains clean bathrooms has clean kitchens also. I would highly recommend El Potro Restaurant as the best Mexican restaurant in town. read more

Poor customer service and doesn't come to a resolution for their customers. Ordered two double cheeseburgers and got two single patty burgers with double cheese apparently you have to be really specific. They don't understand what a double cheeseburger is. I even asked if I had asked for a double hamburger what would y'all have given me and couldn't even give me an answer. Very disappointed! Never eating here again the food and service just been going downhill for awhile now. read more
