We sat ourself, waited a while but no one greeted us. There was only two tables when we arrived, they were cleaning in the front and saw us. I went to find a server and she then gave us a menu. After that we ordered, but the food was great and margarita was amazing. I will come back because food was so good! Service could be better.

Nothing to add from my previous review except an extra star, because El Sol deserves all five (5) in my book!

Food is the best in town, marinated asada must try! Service is always great! Place is always busy and ambiance is calm.

I wish you could see how thin and small they were the picture doesn't so it any justice!

don't order the fish tacos they are disappointing and barley give you any fish. I was a loyal customer but after this and they refused to fix it I won't be back!

Food is always great cooked the way I ordered it and is delicious every time. Love their flour chips, it's hard to get them crispy without making them hard or burning them but they do it. The restaurant is clean and you will rarely see dirty tables. My only complaint is the guacamole. Theirs is only smashed avocado. I prefer the red onion, jalapeños, little tomato and a little lime, but here you'll just get smashed avocados.

Great Taco Plate and love the twist on the bloody marys.

Great Taco Plates, it's a meal in itself. The bloody Mary has a twist of lime which is refreshing.

Excellent food, beautiful environment & the margaritas aren't too shabby. I'd recommend the mini tacos or the ceviche, the seafood is good.

A picture of the taco I recieved from El Sol on Everhart. This was the one they told me they would give me a free taco for.

Visit 4: was sick with vomiting so got tortilla soup. Chicken was cooked but not tenderized. I liked the one from Cancun's better. Visit 5: brought hubby here. He commented that carne guisada was overcooked, I tasted and agreed. I put this place to the true test by ordering menudo... and they failed. Menudo tasted like they didn't wash tripas after parboiling them. Each bite was initially good follow up by an uncomfortable, dirty aftertaste. My verdict: not bad, just mid. Maybe some issues with quality control. I'll be back to try the seafood though.

Incredible value! I chose the asada and birria tacos. It was my first time trying birria, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but one bite completely changed my mind. The flavors were rich, bold, and layered in a way that kept surprising me with every bite. The rice was perfectly fluffy and packed with flavor--honestly, it was almost as good as my mom's, and that's saying something! The charro beans had just the right amount of spice and were absolutely delicious. Even the presentation was impressive; every plate looked as good as it tasted. Huge compliments to the chef and the entire team for creating such an amazing dining experience. Great food, great value, and wonderful service. We'll definitely be back, and I can't wait to try more of the menu!

The most authentic flavor item in my lunch was the refried beans that look like poop at first sight. Rice was bland with cumin flavor and the mole was the most disappointing. Might as well have called them regular enchiladas, the flavor was basic taco mix with a tiny taste of mole. Just a thick cumin or comino paste. Enchiladas should be dripping with sauce in the inside. These were dry tortillas that were barely garnished with sauce on top. The chicken inside was very flavorul but dry. Then the 16 oz lemonade was 4$ and it was super sour ! I never leave reviews. But this was truly disappointing.

Right from the jump, our friendly server brought us complimentary chips with salsa and two sauces. All were delicious and a perfect holdover as we dove into the menu. I am finding that 5 pm is "early" in Corpus and the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but started to pick up by the time we left. For us, we didn't mind at all as service was attentive and speedy due to the emptiness. We ended up kicking off with drinks in the form of a paloma and a desert rose (I never pass up an opportunity for mezcal) and both were perfectly balanced in flavors. To eat, we shared small dishes including the Tex Mex BBQ oysters, tuna tostadas, and side cheese enchiladas. All three were 10/10 in their own way! The oysters (which I usually prefer raw) had such a deep and developed flavor I could have eaten 12 on my own. The tostadas - a fresh and bright bite welcomed in the heat of the summer. The cheese enchiladas? Simple, but executed perfectly! They were reminiscent of a local place I used to frequent when I was a kid, and have ever since compared all enchiladas to. Rarely do I find a good match, but to my surprise El Camino delivered. As with other businesses in the area, expect to find street parking and to take a bit of a stroll (absolutely worth it when you pop into other places along the way and make an event of it). Once you enter the doors, you are transported into a completely different atmosphere where you no longer feel you are in downtown corpus. The decor is fun and bright, yet welcoming and warm and there is plenty to look at! I look forward to returning to try more!

As a vegan, that made me excited because actual Mexican food usually has less cheese and can be made vegan. The business is quaint. There was a friendly hostess to welcome us in and our server was very hospitable. Our server was happy to accommodate our vegan modifications and it was really easy to communicate with him. The flavors are just WOW! Hands down the best guacamole of my life. The sauces are vibrant and rich. Everything tasted so fresh. And the prices for this quality of food cannot be beat. I'm not a professional food critic, but I do know seasoning, regional Mexican flavors, and what well‑prepared food should taste like -- and this just wasn't it for us. The restaurant didn't feel well-kept, and it appeared that only one server and one cook were working, plus we and another couple were the only ones there. We were served chips and salsa to start. The salsa, a taquera‑style orange sauce, was actually the best part of the meal. The chips, however, were extremely hard, not fresh, and definitely not warm. They looked house‑made, but whatever they were fried in made them almost inedible. I ordered the ribeye street tacos, and the steak was overcooked, had an odd taste, and wasn't enjoyable. I asked for extra cilantro and onions, which didn't happen, and the chimichurri they brought out was basically oil with a few seasonings floating in it. I almost complimented the Dr Pepper because it had a unique sweetness -- until I realized why. The red glass had visible staining on the inside. When I wiped the rim with my napkin, it came off dirty. They also don't offer straws, so whatever residue was in that glass is what you end up drinking. Between the food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the overall condition of the restaurant, this was a no for us. How this place has earned such high mentions is honestly beyond me.
