Campechana Street Tacos

The skinny Margherita is the bomb! The staff was so friendly and helpful with suggestions. We went tonight, Tuesday, and the place was hopping. Great portion sizes and oh so tasty! The mango habanero sauce that comes with the pineapple dish was beautiful! We even got an extra 4oz container to go! We will definitely be back!

San Jose Burrito

Great little Mexican grill. The San Jose burrito was very good & the Poblano Enchiladas were too.

French Toast Plate

The food was Good! The service was Okay and the ambience was really nice, looks a lot more modern than other places around. What took me off guard was the pricing for the portioning you get. Super small portions. Nonetheless, pretty good food if you have the cash to spend. Sweet tea was good and fresh (i'm a sweet tea critique).

My previous review from a few years ago still stands. Staff is still friendly, service is still timely, and the food is still flavorful!

Good breakfast tacos and chilaquiles. Fast and friendly service, good salsa, hot sauce and ranchero

Chicken Flauta

The food was fresh and delicious! It was easy to get a table and the server was attentive. We had the chicken flautas and the ribeye mini tacos. The flautas were hot and crispy while the chicken was flavorful and moist. The tacos came with 5, so you won't leave hungry! The ambiance was casual and medium noise level. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would come back again.

One of the better Tex-Mex taquerias in Corpus. Good food. Great people. Exceptional service!

Sour cream enchiladas - Mi Favorito!

Great food, great people, great service Restaurant is also clean, cool and has nice big windows and tvs with games on. Good Tejano music. Most importantly they have one of my favorite tex-mex dishes which is sour cream enchiladas. I get the chicken but you can also get beef or cheese. Thank you El Jalisco for being a nice getaway while I spend time at the Christus hospital with my sister.

Got home with to go order and discovered they left the toppings off of my nachos (queso & guacamole). Called back for a refund. Was told she spoke with the cooks and they put everything on the nachos. All they would do is recook them for me to pick up (I have 1 week to redeem). Just wanted a refund, not to have to drive to the restaurant again. Does this picture look like there was Guacamole & Queso on my nachos. Disappointed.

This place has reliably good Mexican food. It doesn't necessarily wow you so much so that you neeeed to go back and recommend it to everyone you know, but if you go you won't be disappointed. The chilaquiles we're solid, the chips seemed homemade (or at least not from the grocery store). We also got tacos, and each that i tried was good. I remember them having a decent amount in each, too, so that probably two would be enough to satisfy someone. If you're in town and want to get some Mexican food, stop by! They have a drive through, too :)

As a vegan, that made me excited because actual Mexican food usually has less cheese and can be made vegan. The business is quaint. There was a friendly hostess to welcome us in and our server was very hospitable. We ordered the chile relleno without cheese, zucchini in pasilla pepper sauce, and mole verde off the vegetarian options on the menu. We also enjoyed guacamole and chips. Our server was happy to accommodate our vegan modifications and it was really easy to communicate with him. The flavors are just WOW! Hands down the best guacamole of my life. The sauces are vibrant and rich. Everything tasted so fresh. And the prices for this quality of food cannot be beat. My husband and I literally licked sauce off the plates to make sure we did not miss one ounce of that authentic Mexican flavor. This place is top of our list of businesses to visit next time we are in town visiting family. We had an incredible experience and cannot wait to continue to explore the vegetarian menu options.

I'm not a professional food critic, but I do know seasoning, regional Mexican flavors, and what well‑prepared food should taste like -- and this just wasn't it for us. The restaurant didn't feel well-kept, and it appeared that only one server and one cook were working, plus we and another couple were the only ones there. We were served chips and salsa to start. The salsa, a taquera‑style orange sauce, was actually the best part of the meal. The chips, however, were extremely hard, not fresh, and definitely not warm. They looked house‑made, but whatever they were fried in made them almost inedible. I ordered the ribeye street tacos, and the steak was overcooked, had an odd taste, and wasn't enjoyable. I asked for extra cilantro and onions, which didn't happen, and the chimichurri they brought out was basically oil with a few seasonings floating in it. I almost complimented the Dr Pepper because it had a unique sweetness -- until I realized why. The red glass had visible staining on the inside. When I wiped the rim with my napkin, it came off dirty. They also don't offer straws, so whatever residue was in that glass is what you end up drinking. Between the food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the overall condition of the restaurant, this was a no for us. How this place has earned such high mentions is honestly beyond me.

The most authentic flavor item in my lunch was the refried beans that look like poop at first sight. Rice was bland with cumin flavor and the mole was the most disappointing. Might as well have called them regular enchiladas, the flavor was basic taco mix with a tiny taste of mole. Just a thick cumin or comino paste. Enchiladas should be dripping with sauce in the inside. These were dry tortillas that were barely garnished with sauce on top. The chicken inside was very flavorul but dry. Then the 16 oz lemonade was 4$ and it was super sour ! I never leave reviews. But this was truly disappointing.

The corn, the bacon wrapped jalapeños and the nachos with tinga chicken. The corn had something bitter in it I chalked it up to the lime, little to much but I'm sure can be ordered without. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were perfectly made and zero fire which I appreciate. The nachos were huge half corn tortillas with refried black beans and cheese when I added the chicken I didn't realize it would add 14 dollars to my nachos!! lol I honestly thought it made the nachos 14 dollars. The sweet tea is soooooo good So I said maybe based on my $59.00 lunch bill.

Naturally, I had to check it out--and let me tell you, this place absolutely lives up to the hype. I ordered the fish and shrimp dinner, and every bite was incredible. The seasoning on the rice, fish, and shrimp was spot-on, and the tortillas had that perfect, slightly charred finish that takes everything up a notch. Even the drink portions were generous--huge cups, which I appreciated. Service was friendly, the prices were very reasonable, and the overall experience was exactly what I was hoping for. I'm 100% coming back. Without a doubt, this is the best Mexican spot in Corpus Christi. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic, delicious meal, with a family friendly ambience.

At first I noticed their seating capacity they can easily sit over 100 people in their restaurant. The decorations were meh... so so but I love the effort some restaurants don't even try Was seated right away and the server was super friendly. I ordered a beer and my friend ordered a Margarita wow they were only a dollar from 5-7pm great deal not sure if they were good but saw a few people ordering My chicken enchiladas were bomb . Stuffed with chicken and the green sauce was good. The rice was also really well seasoned and those beans also had good flavor. Alot of restaurants are struggling and prices are going up everywhere. They can't be that bad their name is legendary in corpus and they even have 2 locations. I do have a different palette than the locals but if I. Ever In town again I will give them another try

We were seated immediately and given menus - the menu is huge, and contains lots of breakfast selections as well as favorite Mexican lunch/dinner items. We ordered a beef taco salad and a cheese enchilada plate along with sodas to drink. We munched on complimentary tortilla chips and salsa (fiery) while we waited for our food. The meals came out quickly, large portions and tasty beans/rice. The taco salad had a crisp shell with more beans/beef than lettuce, but guac and sour cream plus cheese. The enchiladas were good, not quite hot enough to melt all the cheese inside the tortillas but they had a good flavor. Service was very friendly and efficient. Total for two entrees, two sodas was $34.16 before tip. By the way they charge a 3% upcharge for using plastic, so be aware.
