Good eats here! Came in for dinner and started in the bar. HH so had a margarita and HH appt of beans/guac/salsa and chips $5 bucks. Darn good chips. Stayed in the bar 2nd margarita and chicken soft (flour) tortillas beans, rice and guac. The chicken tacos are fajita style marinated in Shiner Bach and cooked on chargrill. Delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]HH goes to 6pm, nice quiet with an outside patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend.

This their idea of a sangria swirl...albeit, they claim the sangria is white peach. Read that again..."white"
    Torrey S.

Their sangria swirl was a "peach sangria." Not good. In fact, it was god-awful. We got the appetizer sampler, and the nachos (whatever cutesy name they call them) had almost no cheese nor beans at all. They were barely bruschetta. The only thing edible on the sampler were the flautas (and they were taquitos). The bartender was over worked, and the one helper she had spent a good twenty minutes talking to one table. I'm done with Chuy's - scaled down menu, sold out to a big conglomerate. There is no way their standards get better.

Chuy's is a pretty easy go-to if you are looking for consistently good food. Tonight I started with the guacamole and ordered the combo fajitas. Guacamole was good and the fajitas were tender and delicious. My server was very pleasant and friendly.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]My second and most likely last time I will be ordering from this dirty unsanitary restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tables were disgusting and not wiped down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The steak was overly salty and way too expensive for the quality of food. Won't be coming back unfortunately.

Loved it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the bar on the foggiest day of the year.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ok, maybe not the foggiest day of the year, but the only day I was there and it was super foggy. I was glum going in, but the enthusiastic service, yummy chips, guacamole, spicy ranch sauce and queso cheered me up. This was my first time in this Texas chain and I'll definitely be back. The tortilla soup was great! My companion ordered a steak fajita burrito and it was gigantic as well as tasty.

This place is okay. It's a decent middle-of-the-road Tex-Mex chain. I have felt that way about it since having my first Chuy's experience in Humble almost 20 years ago, and still feel that way about it today. In my mind, it's basically the Chili's of Tex-Mex. Chuy's is an Austin native Tex-Mex chain that has since proliferated throughout other parts of the state. In fact, as of writing this, Chuy's turned 40 this year. Happy 40th, Chuys! Despite how average their food is, I believe one of the reasons for their popularity is their margarita options, happy hours, and chips and salsa bars. Also, all of their locations are old school Austin "funky Tex-Mex" festive, which combined with the aforementioned, probably makes for some great experiences. I will say they have done a good job at corporate branding. They are all basically the same, from layout, décor, food prep, and service standards. I, like most other consumers, do appreciate it when a chain maintains consistency, and for that they deserve a fair amount of credit. This particular location is right off of SPID, in an area surrounded by hotels and other chain restaurants. It is in an ideal place, IMO. I would not normally go out of my way to come to a Chuy's but would not totally avoid coming here either.

I am so glad that Corpus Christi has a Chuy's restaurant. I've spent most of my life in Austin and this place reminds me of home and brings back many memories. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This Chuy's definitely has imported the Austin vibe with everything from their Taco Cat shirts to all the little odds and ends hanging on the walls and ceiling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was super friendly and never neglected us and was very mindful of our needs, including topping off our drinks and chips without us needing to ask. That's 5 star customer service. Chuy's has a new menu item recommended to me by our server called the Green Chile Relleno Combo. It was awesome! You get to have your choice of either a chicken or cheese chile relleno and the type of sauce you want it drizzled in. I chose the chicken and one of the medium heat sauces. I'm so glad I chose medium because it did pack a bit of a bite which I liked. Anything else hotter that was on their menu would have been too much for me. We also ordered their beef fajitas. I don't care for them as they are just ok to me. Nothing to write home about. I also ordered their new raspberry margarita. Wow, it was packed full of raspberry flavor! It was dang tasty and I was feeling petty good after having only just one. It's a good thing I didn't have to drive after leaving the restaurant. Their chips and salsas are par for the course of what they always serve. The jalapeño ranch dip is like crack for me. I have to force myself to stop eating it because it is so delicious. All in all, I give this Chuy's location 5 stars. They never disappoint me.

quite good food, the chuychanga was quite good. Abby was such a great person and brought great food

First time I visited this establishment on 7/2/24 I was greeted by Mia my server also known as cupcake she was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks first she had brought me chips and salsa as usual any Tex-Mex restaurant both the sauces were absolutely delicious then I had ordered a taco plate with a Corona Extra dressed in tahin and lime food was very good with the exception of the Spanish rice tend to be dry and Bland other than that it was really good I would recommend this establishment for family and friends and businesses

Paid extra for avocado slices. This is like the size of a quarter. Really? Don't send this out as an extra cost :/
    Erin M.

Usually get takeout from here bc I'm traveling. Half the time there's an issue with my order, food taste is on point generally. Have had portion issues in the past, kind of not up to speed with the rest of the Austin locations IMO.

definitely a bang for ur buck! I ordered togo and was shocked that the burrito was that big!! i only ate 1/3 of it lol. I also ordered a taco salad with fajita chicken which was also super good! If you bring a framed picture of your dog you get a free appetizer (i believe...). def will be returning here :)

My wife and I visited from out of town looking for a good Tex-Mex meal....and we left quite disappointed. Before someone says "You don't know what Tex-Mex is"... we're both Mexican and live in the RGV...we eat it basically every day. The place itself feels a little cluttered...I understand it's supposed to give it a certain feel to the place, provide an ambience to it. But what does Elvis have to do with Tex-Mex? Maybe I missed that bit of history....maybe Elvis was a big Tex-Mex fan? I don't know. The service was lacking...the place was slightly crowded. The waiter did come by and ask for our order...we asked for about 5 more minutes which turned out to be closer to 15 mins later. Surprisingly...the menu felt very small. They had plenty of alcoholic options...but the entrees basically centered on burritos, enchiladas, and the fajitas. There's plenty of Tex-Mex options outside of wrapping food up in a tortilla and doing a deep fry on it (Chiles rellenos, fajita tampiquena, etc). So anyways....my wife ordered the beef/chicken fajitas and I ordered the Chuychanga. Her plate was good...the meat was nicely cooked...no real issues there. They were definitely lacking on salsa..we wanted something with heat. My Chuychanga was not appealing....I was expecting it maybe to be drenched with the sauce and sour cream...as opposed to looking like a giant burrito from the local Circle K placed on some sauce. Was there even sauce? You can't even see it in the pic.... So if we're looking for good Tex-Mex....I think we'll stick to my wife's kitchen next time

Right from the jump, our friendly server brought us complimentary chips with salsa and two sauces. All were delicious and a perfect holdover as we dove into the menu. I am finding that 5 pm is "early" in Corpus and the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but started to pick up by the time we left. For us, we didn't mind at all as service was attentive and speedy due to the emptiness. We ended up kicking off with drinks in the form of a paloma and a desert rose (I never pass up an opportunity for mezcal) and both were perfectly balanced in flavors. To eat, we shared small dishes including the Tex Mex BBQ oysters, tuna tostadas, and side cheese enchiladas. All three were 10/10 in their own way! The oysters (which I usually prefer raw) had such a deep and developed flavor I could have eaten 12 on my own. The tostadas - a fresh and bright bite welcomed in the heat of the summer. The cheese enchiladas? Simple, but executed perfectly! They were reminiscent of a local place I used to frequent when I was a kid, and have ever since compared all enchiladas to. I'm not a professional food critic, but I do know seasoning, regional Mexican flavors, and what well‑prepared food should taste like -- and this just wasn't it for us. The restaurant didn't feel well-kept, and it appeared that only one server and one cook were working, plus we and another couple were the only ones there. We were served chips and salsa to start. The salsa, a taquera‑style orange sauce, was actually the best part of the meal. The chips, however, were extremely hard, not fresh, and definitely not warm. They looked house‑made, but whatever they were fried in made them almost inedible. I ordered the ribeye street tacos, and the steak was overcooked, had an odd taste, and wasn't enjoyable. I asked for extra cilantro and onions, which didn't happen, and the chimichurri they brought out was basically oil with a few seasonings floating in it. I almost complimented the Dr Pepper because it had a unique sweetness -- until I realized why. The red glass had visible staining on the inside. When I wiped the rim with my napkin, it came off dirty. They also don't offer straws, so whatever residue was in that glass is what you end up drinking. Between the food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the overall condition of the restaurant, this was a no for us. How this place has earned such high mentions is honestly beyond me.

The food is ok, Bucaneros in San Antonio is way better. My fish chicharrón was bland and they give thousand island dressing for it? It's chicharrón style every other place I have gone gives you guacamole, I had to order it seperately. My cocktail Vuelve ala Vida (The sauce was a watered down unflavored mess) the Shrimp were really fresh, but the cocktail sauce was horrible. The kiddos had Alfredo shrimp pasta they said it was good, the wife said her dish was OK some pulpo fish ala diabla. The small appetizer tostadas with 2 tiny salsas is meh, but the ceviche was tasteless. (If you can find a Peruvian restaurant order ceviche there) you eyes and mouth will be opened. Service was fast, and personally, they do this to move people out quick, because it's a very small place, and the quality of food suffers. For me it's a SOLID 3
