In town visiting, I am very Familiar with Chuy's, we did a family curbside order. The pick up was right on time with minimal wait, once I sent the message it wasn't a minute or two until they brought it out. The flavor of the food was VERY good and the portion size was substantial larger than the ones we eat at in the Austin San Antonio area. I would definitely recommend this location. read more

Decent food and margaritas at a reasonable price! We got there in the middle of happy hour so drink prices were good and the car truck nacho bar was open. Not bad for free chips, taco meat, queso, and salsa! I got tacos and my fiancé got a burrito. They were nothing special, but still tasty! Each came with rice and beans. The portions were large enough for us to take some home. Our server was very friendly and prompt. He was knowledgeable on the menu and was able to make suggestions for us. I'm a big Chuy's fan, especially coming from Austin, but this location is nowhere near up to par with any Chuy's I've ever been to, including the one in Little Rock, Arkansas. Our server didn't mention the salsa bar even after we ordered drinks from the happy hour menu. It took 17 minutes for him to refill our water cups even though he had more than enough time to chat with his coworkers who were sitting 3 tables down from us on the patio. Never brought us chips, and the list goes on and on. The food was delicious but when you have terrible customer service it really makes your experience not so great. I'll continue to take our weekend road trips out of town to enjoy great food with great customer service. The 6 hour round trip is worth it! read more

My only complaint is that I went to saw a shirt for Halloween on the wall and when I went in the next day to buy it (which was the day before Halloween), they had moved it to the closet, so they charged me an additional $2 per shirt (we bought 2). Second time there for the tacos Al Carbon and decided to share a plate since they come with two. The one my hubby ate had some raw steak in it... big turn off for him. The manager was nice in helping him and encouraged him to order any steak well done from now on. But here's my big gripe..... it turns my stomach when people come into a place of business, especially a restaurant, where we've paid for a relaxing dinner, and go table to table asking for handouts. This person got to at least half a dozen tables, at least, before being escorted out. Surprised it would take 15 minutes for them to catch someone's eye. Can the front end team be trained to keep these folks out? Can wait staff notify management when they see them? It would all contribute to a much better experience by your guests. The waitress is nice and the wait was 20 mins vs. the 40-50 they quoted, again hostess mad hot mess. And no, I couldn't do their job better. OK Maybe I could but people would die. Prior to this, I had never been to a Chuy's outside of their home turf in Austin. I had heard that Chuy's outside the Austin area were not as good as the Austin locations. I am pleased to report that this is false. The restaurant opened promptly at 11 and we were seated immediately. The food was just as good as in the Austin stores. My wife and I each had shrimp tacos and they were great. Our server, who also happened to be named Chuy, was polite, attentive, and professional. I have been eating at Chuy's for 20 years in Austin, and I recommend you try them wherever they are found. Pro tip: Always ask for Creamy Jalepeno dip with your chips... always. My friends and I call it "liquid crack" because it is so addictive. read more

My visit at Chuy's Tex- Mex restaurant was a complete disaster and my biggest regret. My family decided to try out this restaurant because we were out of town and wanted to try a Tex- Mex restaurant. This is the first and last time I will ever eat here. We let the male hostess know that we were out of town wanting a good meal to drive back home; which is a very long drive. He said, "Don't worry, we also have other locations in Florida where you live that you should also check out." With this terrible and awful experience, I will not recommend my worst enemy to eat at Chuy's. This did not even feel like a real Tex- Mex restaurant at all. I ordered two veggie enchiladas to go. When we were waiting for our food to be made, we notice that one of the female waitresses was cleaning the menus with the same dirty towel for all the menus. Chuy's restaurant does not have caring employees that are hygienic towards their customers. After waiting for more than 45 minutes, the male hostess handed our food in a bag with no napkins. I wish I opened the food at the restaurant because it was so unappetizing to look at, and it was missing the mexican rice and refried beans on the side. The veggie enchilada was slathered with too much ranchero sauce and it did not have what was expected inside. There was no spinach, no onions, no zucchini, no red bell peppers, no serranos, and no roasted green chiles. Unforntunately, I developed food poisioning from this atrocious restaurant. I have never experience such a lousy and awful restaurant in my life. Please, do not waste your precious time at Chuy's restaurant. Thank you. read more

I've been to many of the Chuy's restaurants. The hostesses were very friendly. I was seated in a timely manner. After that, things started to go downhill. The waiter seemed to have too many tables to be effective. It took some time before I was asked about my drink order. Enough time that I had already made up my mind to order. Once my food arrived, I had to ask a hostess to bring me silverware. My order of the vegetarian combo, no.7, came in a timely manner. However, I did not order Mexican rice and it took some time before the waiter came to check on my order. He brought a side of the green chile rice that I was supposed to have on my plate. The chile relleno was delicious. The crust was very crunchy even with the ranchero sauce. The cheese filling was gooey and very tasty. The vegetarian enchilada was just as tasty. The charro beans were some of the best that I have had. After such a below average start, the meal ended with my appetite satisfied with a very good meal. I will return and try some of the meat choices on my next visit. read more

Its a different kind of Mexican food. Im not saying good or Im not saying bad...different. Enchilada sauce is not what we know down here in south texas. Chips are nice and thin and crispy .. salsa is good ...jalapeño cream sauce is great for dipping. Other then that with regards to the food..not a fan, not my cup of tea. Service the few times I have been is not the speediest. I do tend to go during peak hours but still ... its not good to go when you have limited lunch hours. I went to pick up my order and the waitstaff from Chuys treated me like dirt. I was sent by the hostess to pick up my order near the kitchen. 2 waitresses passed me without even looking up. Another employee walked past me and said excuse me in a way that made it sound like I was inconveniencing him even tho I was told to wait there and someone would help me. Finally one of the first waitresses that walked past and said someone will be right with you but still not very friendly. Finally someone possibly the manage came and asked if I had been helped and she brought me my order. I don't know if they thought I was a door dash driver or what but it shouldn't matter. No one should be treated like you're not there and thats how it seemed and it was very uncomfortable. Even more so when you're a paying customer. I seriously hope they don't treat the Doordash drivers like crap the way I was treated. This has made me question whether I want to order from or eat at Chuys anymore. read more

Let me start of that I have been to the Chuy's in San Antonio on 151 and I have been to the one in Round Rock on 35. Now Chuy's has ventured further South to Corpus Christi so I already knew what to expect and order when I walked in this location for the first time. Let me remind people that this is more for a gathering for some drinks and an appetizer here and there. I've read the other reviews and they need to understand that living here in South Texas don't expect to come here and eat some awesome Mexican food cause your not. Like I mentioned before if you are here for the drinks especially during happy hour when you can hit the complimentary nacho bar you will have an awesome time. They make some pretty good drinks here and the atmosphere here is perfect for that. The decor is awesome and they have a nice dining area on the outside as well. I will say they do make homemade flour tortillas and the quesadillas can give anybody a run for there money. read more

Had a Chuychanga! Flavors were spot on! Golden crust and charro beans with my rice YESS! I was very happy that they had beans without pork in it so I didn't have to settle for just terrier beans as I did with several other restaurants on the area. Kayla's service and suggestions were EVERYTHING! I had this amazing green sauce that was sour cream based that she recommended because I didn't want something overly spicy and it was spot on delicious. Portions are very nice and with the fresh salsa and chips while you wait I promise you will be holding your belly before you leave but it will be soooooo worthwhile.
