Instead of the meals being $27.99, they were $30.99. Plus beverages were more. All without any notification from staff. They are ripping people off and not saying anything..no itemized tickets. I just noticed because we use to eat there all the time. Well...... When we went today, I asked our waiter ahead of ordering if the $27.99 for each plate (that it states on the menu) was correct, or are they upcharging? He said "no, it's more..my manager tries to explain to us but we don't understand" and my answer to him was because there is no explanation, pure and simple. This is wrong, and dishonest..all those people, paying their bills not knowing they are being upcharged. We will NEVER, after 20 + years between Portland and Aransas Pass, EVER go back. They should be shut down for ripping people off. If you eat here, you better check your tickets for discrepancy. I wanted to tell the other two tables, on a Friday evening around 4:30, that they were all being charged more than they thought, but my husband said, nope it will come back to get them. When we received our bill, we saw that we were each charged .75 for "food", but no explanation. We asked our server and were told it was for the onions. 75 cents for approximately 10 pieces of diced onion?!?! We felt the server should have informed us that there would be a charge for the onions. Also, I asked for none of the veggies on my fajita taco, so maybe they should have just taken the onions I didn't want on the taco and put them on my enchilada. We ordered Chicken Flautas (chicken rolled up in a corn tortilla that is then fried) and Carne Guisada (stewed beef) which came with fresh flour tortillas (with a browning ingredient- no raw looking tortillas) with two Mexican cokes.
