This is one of those places where you walk in, stand in line, place your order and go find a seat. When your order is ready, they'll bring it out to your table. Staff is very friendly and the evening we went, there were three or four young men that were taking food to the tables and clearing tables and they were all very friendly and helpful. We went on a Saturday night, and there was a good flow of people in and out the entire time we were there. We didn't have a hard time finding a table initially, but the place filled up quickly. But there are five or six other restaurants within a block to two blocks around this place, so there was a lot of foot traffic and a lot of people eating out in that area. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and I have to tell you that is one of the most amazing burgers I have had in the last few years. Amazing! The burger was cooked perfectly and had several strips of crispy bacon, melty cheese, lettuce, pickle, tomato, and red onion, and the meat was seasoned perfectly. I got the fries, and they were crispy seasoned well and extremely tasty. I told my wife as we were sitting there eating that this place was definitely on our list of eating establishments the next time we were in Port A, and you can bet we will be down there for another burger.

I've traveled all over the world and up and down the U.S. coastline, and I understand beach‑town dining can be hit or miss. But this experience left us genuinely confused about the glowing reviews. We walked into a tiny establishment where the bar was fully staffed and drinks were flowing, yet we couldn't even get served food. Alcohol seemed ready to go, but the kitchen was moving at a pace that made no sense. We were told food would take over an hour. For a place this small, that's baffling. It made me wonder if the rave reviews were written through "vacation goggles" -- sunburned, tired, or a few drinks in -- because from our sober perspective, nothing about the service or setup matched the hype. Maybe the "excellent" part of the name refers strictly to the bar, because the grill definitely felt off‑duty. We ended up leaving without ever getting food. Not the experience we were hoping for.

I remember my dining companions, mostly college students, being thoroughly impressed with the place, but the two of us who were young professionals found the seafood overcooked. My wife and I were in the area earlier this month and needed a lunch spot, so I suggested we give this place another try. I'm glad we did. They've changed up how they have their outdoor seating, which includes netting to prevent most things from getting in, but there's still quite a few birds who slip through the open side and try to get you to feed them. Some people must do it, because they've got signage up encouraging you not to do it. Service was decent. The waiter was covering most of the "patio" area (it's like a floating patio on the water), so we definitely could have used some refills that we simply didn't get. My "captain's crunch" was a po-boy like sandwich that was pleasantly crunchy but different enough from the traditional New Orleans style to be unique. My wife was so full from the Marina Mac that I ended up finishing the last few bites to empty the plate. If we're back in the area, we'll probably give this place another visit.

(Thank you Gwen) The fried fish was also the best I have ever had in my life, and my partner said that she really liked her tiki grill as well, no complaints! We were also able to order virgin pina coladas; totally worth it! Over all, the only thing I would be wary of is that fact that it is all outside, so plan accordingly. There is also a cute gift shop, where if you are at the restaurant, you get 20% off your order. It is an intimate space, rectangular, with about 10 or so small tables and room for about 10 at the bar. Along with the laid back crowd, allowing you to hear the people you're drinking with, this place won me over big on its vibe. But we don't visit bars just for the vibe and the company, we go for some drinks. They have a small list of signature cocktails, but of course, you can ask for what you want. I got the Blueberry Pomegranate Martini. The liqueur in it was really smooth and tasty. For its simplicity it was also adorned with actual blueberries. Sounds good so far, so why the lack of the fifth star? The service was very friendly and professional but drinks were churning out slow, despite the numerous bartenders at the moment. After a few drinks we were attended by a different bartender. Johnny personally introduced himself prior to grabbing our order. He made it a point to provide attentive service and recommend drinks. He was very knowledgeable and familiar with the menu. Great guy! Overall, intimate cozy space, striving for a classy look, great tasting drinks, best for couples, and average priced drinks. I am looking forward to going back, but might go on a weekend. I could see this being a go-to spot for people who live nearby and like higher end cocktails.

This place is the coolest whiskey bar meets fine dining--and it nails both sides perfectly. I travel to Corpus for work and customer visits, but this is one of those rare spots where I'd come back just for the restaurant. The whiskey selection is outstanding--deep, thoughtful, and clearly curated by people who actually know and love whiskey. Whether you're a bourbon guy, a Scotch drinker, or just want to explore something new, the staff knows their stuff and makes great recommendations without any pretension. The food is where it really separates itself. This isn't bar food pretending to be upscale--this is legit, well-executed, chef-driven cuisine that easily competes with big-city dining. Every dish feels intentional, balanced, and elevated. It's the kind of place where you slow down, enjoy the experience, and immediately start planning what you're ordering next time. Atmosphere-wise, it's spot on: moody, polished, and cool without trying too hard. Perfect for entertaining customers, a business dinner, or just treating yourself after a long day. Everything I tried here was absolutely delicious both from the food menu and the drink menu. I did a tasting flight (highly recommend) and sampled a few house cocktails. Neither approach will do you wrong and I recommend doing both if you have the time. For food we went with the : -sliders -charcuterie board - gnocchi -truffle fries And you can't go wrong with any of these. Here's my Clint Eastwood review, The Good, The Bad, and The Disappointing…read more The Good Location, not on SPID and all that congestion. Located on Spohn right off of S Staples, really nice location. This place is huge, with a giant bar, where we like to sit and dine, with an adjacent raw/Sushi bar, very nice. The bar offers a huge selection of adult beverage makings. We were celebrating our 39th anniversary, so a restaurant of this caliber is certainly appropriate. The drinks, a Tanqueray Martini with an Orange twist for her and a Manhattan straight up with four roses bourbon for me, were perfectly sized and delicious. The restaurant boasts a large freestanding humidor with a nice selection of cigars. I also noticed a wall of personal humidor lockers for customers to keep their personal cigars available. This all suggested a cigar room, but I never saw it. The wait staff, were mostly attentive. Instead of depending on your bartenders to deliver food, I'm more accustomed to restaurants, of this caliber, to have a dedicated wait staff for bar dining patrons. Especially considering they have a large number of high top tables for dining in the bar. Friday nights, like when we were there, get pretty hectic for the bartenders. For our second drink the bartender made mistakes on both our drinks, my wife's Martini came with Olives,(I liked them) instead of the twist of orange. My Manhattan came with her twist of orange instead of the usual Luxardo cherry. Perhaps if the bartenders just bartended they wouldn't make simple mistakes. ‍ . They were very nice and brought me a shot glass with several Luxardo cherries in it. Thank you Ladies! The food. We started with appetizers. My wife got their escargot that were traditionally prepared in an escargot serving dish rich with butter, garlic and a hint of citrus. They were delicious, albeit small. My wife was happy with them. I got their Crispy Calamari Atop Stir Fried Carrots, Green Onions & Cashews with a Kung Pao Sauce. This dish, for us, was the hit of the night. The calamari, instead of the rings so commonly served, were calamari strips. They were perfectly fried and the combination of the calamari, the vegetables and that kung pao sauce was absolutely mouth watering. If you like calamari I highly recommend this dish. You won't be disappointed. Entrees. My wife got their escargot Greek style rack of Lamb with spinach. The Lamb was perfectly seasoned and served medium-rare. It was absolutely delicious. If you like Lamb this is a great dish, oh and the chops were huge! The Bad. Nothing to see here. The Disappointing. I ordered the USDA Prime Ribeye with Citrus-Braised Baby Carrots & Whipped Potatoes and a Dijon Herbal Butter. I order my steaks cooked medium-rare "Pittsburgh style". First, everyone knows what a ribeye steak looks like, it has that very distinctive shape, you can't miss it. If what they served me was a ribeye, then I'm the true Bad Bunny! When the entrees were delivered they didn't give us steak knives, we had to ask for them. Now maybe they were that confident in the tenderness of the meat that they didn't feel we needed steak knives. Or maybe, just maybe, they should be tending bar instead of delivering food. Second the menu clearly states USDA Prime Ribeye. I know what that is, and what was served me wasn't that. As I stated I order my steaks "Pittsburg style". What that means is the steak is first cooked to an internal temperature that is 5 to 10° short of medium-rare. The steak is then immersed in either melted butter or tallow and then immediately thrown on a very hot grill. This causes the grill to engulf the steak in flames charring the outside of the steak and raising the internal temperature to medium-rare. I do it all the time on my backyard grill. While my steak did have some charring, it wasn't Pittsburg style. Conclusions. Would we go back? Absolutely if for nothing else to get that crispy calamari. Would I order the steak again? Not without getting some assurances that I get a Rib Eye and they know how to cook it Pittsburg style. I guess, in the end, this has all the potential to be a high-end steakhouse, for our visit I felt they didn't meet that expectation.

This makes me really sad to have to write as I've been coming here regularly for a while now. I LOVE the flock bar and am honestly just so devastated and appalled at how I was treated there last night (new years eve) by the bartenders working. Michaela, Tyler, and Abby were all completely intoxicated behind the bar. They were trying to serve drinks but were too intoxicated. I was standing quietly with my friend just waiting for their drinks with them at the end of the bar. Michaela then drops off his drinks after taking 30+ minutes to even say a word to us. She gives us the drinks and turns to me and looks me in the eye with so much hate and disrespect & says "oh we hate you here." "You're the most annoying person & you order the most annoying drinks" I just apologized and said I just love the way y'all make my drinks they're always amazing I'm sorry, she then follows that up with "we just hate you here and you're honestly so rude and inconsiderate for ordering those drinks here". For reference, my usual is a French 75. I have given so many people recommendations for this bar solely for how amazing this drink is and the staff. So hearing this was very extremely hurtful. She rolled her eyes and then walks away with nothing but HATE in her eyes for me. I say let's leave to my friends but they wanted to speak to a manager, so we spoke to Tyler. He's sitting there speaking very kindly saying he's so sorry he can't do anything to make it right but he can comp our tabs. He walks away and as he's "comping our tab" he is laughing and hugging and talking about us in the meanest manner to this same bartender (Michaela). Still silent just standing at the end of the bar wanting to leave, Abby then walks over and unprovoked YET AGAIN she turns to me looks me in the eyes and says "we're busy babes" and rolls her eyes and walks into the freezer. Michaela then walks over and drunkenly tells us "we're kicked out" and walks back falling all over. We still are just standing here quietly not saying a word to them like we haven't all night. Tyler comes back with a completely different attitude and says he comped my friends tab. My friend who's tab I would not have even been on if I had ordered, she then tells Tyler that he forgot my boyfriends tab. He then tells us and points at my boyfriend saying "he doesn't matter right now". Tyler is focusing his attention on my friend and not even giving me the time of day, the person who was extremely mistreated unprovoked by him and his staff. He then says "I got the whole story and you're drunk pointing (directly at me) so yall have to leave" .....This was far from the truth and that is a fact because I had zero plans of drinking, and if I did, the bartenders only pay attention to certain people (men) and were taking 30+ min and ignoring my friends at the side of the bar near the patio. So no, I was not drunk, and I didn't even have a tab or try and order a drink what so ever. I asked for the name of an owner or head manager and Tyler refuses to give me and my friends any names what so ever. We leave and that's that. I also want to say that at the beginning of the night my boyfriend did attempt to order a French 75 for myself. While I wasn't with him, Michaela rudely tells him "we're not doing those tonight" as the special of the night is a French 75. She tell proceeds to make French 75 for another man who walked up to the bar right after my boyfriend. She was so drunk she completely lost my friends card and forgot to queue any drinks in so they came up to us and asked what we had while we where trying to leave because she didn't do it at all. They were hurt and offended. This is not her first time treating me and my friends this way and we usually brush it off, but seeing as to how intoxicated she was behind that bar and knowing that's the reason she treated me this way I have to say something about it now. It's a review on the poor staff who should never be in the customer service industry again
