Truly a hidden gem with THE best Cuban food I've ever had! The views, the drinks, the fact that you can boat up & eat. Could not recommend more!!

Excellent lunch & dinner spot right on the water and part of sunset island! The Cuban sandwich and plate were delicious. The servers were fantastic and the manager Angel and his wife Francis came over and said hi. Michael gave us a quick tour- the Hemingway bar is a must see! So authentic and right on the water as well. Area for kids with shuffleboard and corn hole. Can't wait to come back!

The authentic Cuban sandwich is phenomenal and every bit as good as those we get in and around Tampa. The owners / staff are very friendly and answered all of our questions. Great place for a bite to eat right on the water!

Being a family-inclusive establishment,…read morethere's a good chance groups of kids are present and when we were here, there was a table of very badly behaved adults AND children which created a very disruptive environment. Staff just stood and stared at them instead of asking them to take it down about 8 notches. It really took a good bit of enjoyment away for a lot of customers. Since breakfast was available, we went in that direction...for lunch. Served all day. I got the Islander and wife got the Silver Alert. Mine was basically a larger version of hers. The sausage was really tasty. The hashbrowns on my plate (she didn't get them) were exactly like McD's or other fast food joints. I was hoping for homemade style and not frozen fast food style. The eggs tasted a little odd to me...maybe the oil used? Still tasty, though. Bacon cooked crispy. Good breakfast overall. Wife did want to try a starter and she chose the baked goat cheese/toast appetizer. She really enjoyed it...not really for my palate. Personal taste there. Several people who left reviews mentioned the wait time. We were told it would be 30 minutes when we arrived...but there's really no place for people to wait. However, they found a booth for a group sitting just inside the door and then asked if we would like to sit there. Sure...problem solved in about 5 minutes. Aside from the wait/no wait situation, it took a really long time for service and arrival of food. It's a smallish seating area overall for such business. Hopefully business is so good they'll look to expand to accommodate such demand.

I got some weird purple stuff on my hand and what looked like a booger on the other side - clean the menus! Check them! Thats the first impression!!! My husband wanted the black drum but they were out sadly. I ordered the crab cake Mahi. I inquired rather it was stuffed with the crab cake or there was just one of each... waitress i formed me the crab cake covers the too of the fish like a crust. Unfortunately, im lactose intolerant so I can do cream base sauces which is all it seems like anyone has, so I just had them put lemon pepper butter on the pasta. It was good, the fish could've been seasoned better, without the crab cake there wasn't much there. Presentation needs some work. My hubby settled for the Po'Boy, ps the french fries are really good!!! Battered kind! We also got calamari as an appetizer, it was good rings but needed a lemon wedge & more sauce. I drank a Cocomo - just tasted like coconut - one and done. I think the wait time (15min) for waitress to bring us a box for my son and the check after she had walked by like 3x and not made eye contact or noticed we were empty played and pushed everything aside. I finally got up and asked the hostess for the check since we were sitting near the door. She did have several tables spread our all over the restaurant, so she was busy, but if you'll prioritize those that are done, it keeps your tip high, and then that table can be turned over. There are plenty of screens with college football and baseball on them on a Saturday night. Steady flow of people in and out, but not a wait. Wish they had legit outdoor dining because the weather and breeze was nice out. It's located in a shipping center, so there's plenty of parking, but not really a view, easy to access if ur headed off the island to the bridge, otherwise traffic can be a mess for a minute.

It's also an easy walk for anyone staying on the bay side or coming on/off the island. First off the vibe is cool, and has some cool to it in a way that sets it apart from a lot of the touristy beach spots in town. Cool art, a full redesigned bar, and lots of comfortable open seating outside. With a sun shade. They also have a stage for live music and they bring acts in from all around. We caught an act, Michael O'Connor, on 4th of July and he was outstanding. Great sound quality too. The tequila and wines are top shelf at reasonable prices, and they had a full cocktail bar service. Beer selection was good, but no draft from what I could see. The bar service, provided by Stassni, was super friendly and attentive. She made sure we were fed and hydrated. And the food - wow! It was fantastic for such a small unassuming spot. I had the coconut butterfly shrimp with fries and my husband had the smash burger. Both were excellent. My shrimp were fresh butterflied gulf shrimp and hand breaded. So good. Their manchego fries were selling like crazy, too. This is the sister restaurant to Calypso in Half Price books. Great little spot on the island that's worth a visit if you want a break from the bustling tourist scene. Note there is some road noise but it's not out of control. The inside is small with most seating outside under a corrugated roof.
