I got two crunchy tacos and two pastor tacos. Both were great but the pork street tacos were the best. Service was slow but they were extremely busy so it's understandable. The frozen margarita was a little weak but they have a nice tequila selection so I just dosed it with an extra shot and still came out cheaper than most places. Great place to get dinner.

Updated June 2026…read more Years ago I gave this place a well-deserved 1 star review. I posted pictures that got a lot of negative attention. I had no intention of ever returning. Fast forward to today. I've seen some recent social media and an ad in the bend of the update and wanted to give it a try. It did NOT disappoint. The atmosphere, decor, service, drinks, food, and price point were all excellent. The drinks were great, the coconut shrimp may be the best in town. The happy hour specials may be the best in town as well. I'll be back for sure, we will likely be regulars. Don't miss out!

The corn queso was highly overrated, and we ordered the crab pasta to share. The crabcakes were so fishy that as soon as they were placed on the table in front of us it was overwhelming. The pasta was nothing more than glorified macaroni and cheese, but without much flavor or moisture. On the plus side, our waitress was great and the drinks were perfect. But we will not be going back at any time in the future.

The chips were thick and crunchy, the salsa spicy but not too spicy. I liked it, The spicing and flavor of my food was Really Good! It was a lot of food for the price. The last time we ordered the ribeye quesadillas, when we went to pay, we noticed the bill was a lot more than it should have been..we asked the waitress and she explained that the prices on the menu are not correct...?...and she never told us ahead of time. Instead of the meals being $27.99, they were $30.99. Plus beverages were more. All without any notification from staff. They are ripping people off and not saying anything..no itemized tickets. I just noticed because we use to eat there all the time. Well...... When we went today, I asked our waiter ahead of ordering if the $27.99 for each plate (that it states on the menu) was correct, or are they upcharging? He said "no, it's more..my manager tries to explain to us but we don't understand" and my answer to him was because there is no explanation, pure and simple. This is wrong, and dishonest..all those people, paying their bills not knowing they are being upcharged. We will NEVER, after 20 + years between Portland and Aransas Pass, EVER go back. They should be shut down for ripping people off. If you eat here, you better check your tickets for discrepancy. I wanted to tell the other two tables, on a Friday evening around 4:30, that they were all being charged more than they thought, but my husband said, nope it will come back to get them. We asked for our ticket for 1 beer, and the waiter said he would give us our food for the price on the menu..we declined, paid for beer and left. THAT was bulllllllshit..and they won't fix it. I think it just gives them the opportunity to charge whatever the HELL the want to whomever they want.

This one for me is a bummer. Reason being is that Pep's had been on my "go to list" for many…read morereasons and main one was word of mouth. Friends and co workers raved about it and it gave me high expectations. Before I start I'll say first that this was my first experience here and maybe I shouldn't have sat at the bar. Nonetheless here is what I thought Elijah was our bartender and he did his job. Attentive to the bar patrons and the people sitting on the tables around the bar area. It was only him so I give him kudos for doing a great job! Now the food... We ordered their CAB NACHOS, RIBEYE CHICHARRÓN and a side of fries. The nachos were basic. Nothing too special about them. Looked more like triangle chalupas but the guacamole and pico were fresh and tasty. Nice portion and good taste. Again nothing special but I can see why the bartender said it was his favorite. You can't go wrong with that item. Fries, to me not really fries more like bulky curly fries. Needed salt but that's a plus cause at times places add too much. Now that item I was excited for... And it was a downer. When you call something "chicharrón" you must make sure that it's fried well and that it's crispy. The Ribeye Chicharrón was more like ribeye steak chunks instead. Nothing about it defined crunch at all! The presentation was cool though as it came in a jar sort of speak and they let them fall like a tower. Just fell short of my expectations based on the item name and description. Again, their pico and guacamole were delicious! My favorite was the pico! Really fresh. I will need to come back and try their other items but their first impression to me was mid. Again, my opinion and my experience. Godspeed everyone!!
