On vacation. Just the girls, no kids kind of night and stopped in here for a drink or two or three, maybe even 4. I stopped counting.. 4 pool tables and a dance floor. Plenty of high top seating and about 8 televisions. We came on karaoke night. Great time, good strong drinks. I didn't pay so I can't tell you if there reasonable. Definitely enjoyed my night. If I were visiting again, I'd stop by. read more

Great place met the owner he's cool. Got appetizers and they were good. Going back tonight a great environment

I met one of my buddies to watch the World Cup tonight. I have never been to the pelican lounge. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The bartenders were friendly and plenty of screens play pool while watching the game. I'm not a big drinker, but they appeared to have about every alcohol option available. read more

The food is so yummy and the service is SO good!!!! I appreciate the bartenders so much for being so accommodating and kind: definitely this is the spot to go to if you're trying to have an all-around good time with an insanely chill ambiance. Thank you so much and GOODNIGHT! read more

Pelican Lounge - French Basket of Fries, Quesadilla, fried pickles, - Sports Bars Near Me - Corpus Christi, Texas

Saturday November 22 we were hanging out outside on the patio and I saw a man come to find out later is the owner of this establishment, yelling in a woman's face. Another gentleman calmly interjected and was immediately kicked out. We paid our tab and left and a few days later our 79$ tab (after tip) cleared for 99$. Shady staff and owner needs some customer service skills. Mark this place off your list. read more

Best fresh cut fries and Philly cheesesteak rolls (a daily special). Ever. Kazy the bartender very personable.

Shuffle board, good music, great service and very impressed with the Buffalo wings and fresh cut fries!

My wife and I went to the Pelican Lounge for the first time this evening, and we were thoroughly impressed. Let's be clear, it is pretty much a locals dive bar. Dive bar is an affectionate description for me. The bartender, Cazy, I think went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. That isn't the reason I felt compelled to leave a review. Because I don't often leaves reviews, good or bad. The menu is limited, but the food we had was stellar. My wife had a 1/2 pound burger and fries, and I had a Philly and fries. The Philly was in the top 3 I have ever had. The meat was great and the bread was wonderful. My wife really enjoyed her burger, and the sourdough bun was great. However, as good as our sandwich and burger were the fries stole the show. They are hand cut and seasoned wonderfully. We talked to the cook who seemed to take pride in the fact the fries were still whole potatoes yesterday. If you are hungry after leaving the beach/island in Corpus, do yourself a favor and stop at Pelicans. Remember, it is a bar and not a place for kids. read more

After having first been at Farah's, I wasn't sure what to expect from the "Pelicant." What greeted me was a hoppin crowd, loads of hotties and a Texas country band. In a word: partttttayyyyyyyy. The place was crazy crowded but those bartenders were moving around at light speed. We ordered shots and drinks and made friends and stayed until they absolutely kicked us out. It's like this place posted up in the 80s and never left... and we loved it. read more

Was in town for the weekend had a Airbnb directly across the street. Very friendly staff !! Live music. Not to mention the best tasting hamburger I've ever had in my 49 years of life. It was so delicious I ate it up before I was able to snap a pic sorry. Lol. read more

Cazy was so nice and welcoming and his drinks were the best I've had in a while. If you're a local or on vacation this is the place to go.

Everyone here was extremely sexy and good-looking in a low-key sorta way.. & we were surprised there was No Attitude that usually goes along with all that.. it was just this super-chill and comfortible laid-back atmosphere.. you could talk to anyone.. about anything.. so rare in this world in 2021, Loved it. People were dressed kind of county/beachy in anything from Hawaiian shirts to Polo shirts, Western shirts to Fishing shirts, tank tops, Crocks, ballcaps, to work boots to those perfectly fitting blue jeans .... didnt matter.. in this place you could Rock your own style.. & BEST Darn karaoke singers Ive ever heard! Met all different lifestyles, and walks if life, and shared similar interests in music, culture, & Love of the Land and Sea.. This community must be Awesome.. Because This was, by far, THE BEST BAR we been to All year... Thankyou ! read more

Overpriced $11 for 5 wings. Fries were good. Drinks were mediocre. Friendly staff decent music

Eclectic group of people in this place. Specifically came here to hear a band and what a wonderful evening. Great plaace to watch people and hear great live music. Attentive bartenders and good drinks. Shuffle board was a busy place. Good crowd and mix of people. Really a fine place to hear live music. WIll return again soon! read more

We came here over the summer and saw a live band who was 80's themed and very energetic. There was a great mix of people too. It gets crowded but the beer is cold and the staff is quick. read more

The Dirty Bird. The Smelly Pelly. This trademark North Padre Island establishment may go by many appellations, but none of them are laudatory - and rightfully so. The Pelican Lounge is a typical, two-dimensional bar in South Texas. Both dimensions involve its patronage, characterized first by self-adulating, horny student military aviators (and, of course, their equally overconfident instructors), as well as folks creeping along the edge of retirement. Friday and Saturday nights are loud and raucous, especially past midnight. Weekday nights are more tame and better for talking or - the Pelican's claim to fame - a shuffleboard match on one of its two tables. Bottom line: don't expect anything novel in the way of alcohol; if you are female looking to get laid, go here; if you are old and want to live vicariously through young men chasing tail, this is your place. read more

A classy spot for the beach bum on the ever expensive island. It's funny when people in the island area refer to the Corpus as too far as it reminds me of inner loopers in Houston saying the same thing about everything outside of the loop. Give those types a splash of beach attitude and there you go. The band was jamming 80s and early 90s hits more less comprised of amateur musicians. most everyone has a great time and will dance the night away. Crowd is mixed. There was a fight outside in the parking lot when I was there. It was over pretty quickly. Nobody seemed very phased by it. Drinks are standard as any. Not bad priced especially when I compare it to Houston. read more

Pretty decent place to hang out with a cool group of people or to just meet some locals. They have pool, darts, shuffleboard, and a stage where live music or karaoke takes over the nights. There's also a patio which is actually the smoking area so I never get to enjoy my drinks with fresh air. There are some older folks that like to get their shimmy on despite the fact they left their dentures at home. Nevertheless, they are cool folks with awesome stories and some money to buy you drinks with. I just don't like the smoke that surround the entrance and the inside can be dark. read more

As Doug points out, this seems like it would be a very typical Southern bar. However, I had a more than a typical night because this bar has Table Shuffleboard! What an awesome bar game! Naturally, I was nearly undefeated the entire night. My drunk athleticism is something to be seen, as we know. Cheap and the bartender was friendly to the Yankee and his two military meat-head friends. read more

I went here with my thunder buddies. We had lots to drink. Spent a whole boat load of money. Afterwards on the walk to our hotel, my friends cried. I think it was just some thunder buddy drama between them. I'll go back cause the place was walking distance to Hampton Inn. read more

Ended up waking in here after the place we were at closed early. Good groove, good amount of people that seemed to be a lot of locals which is always refreshing to me since I travel non stop I don't want to see a bunch of tourist acting dumb all the time. Was a good feel in this place and they served prolly a little longer than they should have but we needed it!! read more

The best of the best club in town. My favorite spot & all service so good from all their staffs.

They charge a $50.00 hold to your card if you open a tab. They don't ask or tell you about it. Nice.

Beer was cold and music was great for a divey bar! Live band played 80's music which was well received by all ages in the crowd. There are 2 shuffleboard tables and one pool table. We had a good time. read more

I wish I could put this establishment as negative stars. Women bartenders were very distrestpectful to us which we with a group of MEN who they were actually very nice too. INTERESTING. they would not allow us to us their facilities and ordered us to leave when we barely stepped foot in. Did we do ANYTHING? No. We were just with a handsome group of men. I'm am astonished and feel so belittled. You will NEVER see THIS face AGAIN. read more

Pelican Lounge - Winding down at The Pelican Lounge. Good music coming threw the speakers, locals playing poker, and pool. Loving life. - Sports Bars Near Me - Corpus Christi, Texas

This bar was tolerable, and shuffle board was pretty much the only reason to go. Other than watching people make fools of themselves with karaoke. There are a lot of military looking guys around, so yeah, it has a weird crowd all in all. Not a very good selection of beer, but the bartenders were nice, and actually knew me by name after my first visit, which was nice I suppose. If you really can't go to the Executive Surf Club in CC, go here. The other bars are just plain awful. read more

I have only been here for poker tournaments. And it is a nice place. I imagine it is a nice place to go for a nice cold one. Nice that there is no smoking inside. read more

Not a bad place to grab a beer and chill with some friends, but its even good if you're looking for a some live entertainment and dancing. Surprisingly diverse age demographic too. read more

A dirty dive bar that has mostly middle aged locals and young military guys in packs of ten. They usually have live music and dancing on the weekends and at times the place can be pretty packed and fun, other times it's empty except for some creepy old men. Hit or miss kinda place, but there's always shuffle board and big buck hunter to be played at the dirty bird. read more

A nice dive bar but I was looking for karaoke. We didn't stay very long but it was certainly my kind of bar if I wasn't in such a mood to sing LOL read more

Dive bar, fried food, dark inside. But we had a good time watching football Sunday here. Road the motorcycle all morning on South Padre and wanted to sTop for lunch. The food was pretty stereotypical fried bar food. Very nice bartender and guests. Good for a late night hangout or to shoot some pool, watch a game. read more

Cheap drinks, live music, shuffle boards, patio and etc. it's awesome! Usually it's pretty quiet in there.

They take my money and give me beer. A/C works which is a plus on the Island. Anyone that can't handle the locals should just really stick to Chili's or Joes Crab Shack. read more

i really the vibe of this place - casual, serve decent food and drinks... fun mix of people from army peeps to seniors playing shuffleboard! awesome place to watch a football game... karaoke is okay too! read more

Friday and Saturday nights are always fun and exciting. The live music is some of the best Corpus has to offer whether it's Oso Texas, Lyrical Bynge, Cruise Control or another local band. The patio rocks with flat screens, bar and a view of the city skyline across the bay. It's always packed on weekends and the crowds vary in age from early 20s to 50s. That means everybody's got a chance to hook up if that's why you are going to a bar on the island. The food is actually very good for a bar. Don't bother going there before 10 though. It's pretty quiet before the bands start up. read more
