Not from Corpus, but wanted to catch an NBA playoff game. Found Mulligan's Pub & as soon as I walked it had like a sports bar vibe to it. Its 8:pm , my boyfriend & I walk in. It's dead . 2 people at the bar . We asked if we could have the volume up for the game since no one was in here & we just wanted to be able to hear it, it didn't have to be blasting. The bartender said "No, I can't touch the TV. It's the rules." (Even though one of the TVs already had sound going from it, he couldn't turn it up 2 notches ?) If you like a crowded bar and being elbow to elbow, this is your place! I walked in during the afternoon to watch a little football and have a quick drink before other evening plans and this place only had a few customers hanging out. But it was still a nice place just to relax for a minute. But at night... BAM! This place was PACKED. The guy checking IDs was my bartender from earlier in the day, so I walked right in. I thought I was pretty lucky finding a seat given the size of the crowd. Everyone did seem to be having a good time though! And the bartender I ordered from was really patient with getting us what we wanted to drink (a specific cocktail). Overall, their liquor/hard alcohol selection was good. I was recently in Corpus traveling for business. I was staying at the Omni hotel on Shoreline and decided I couldn't take the Gulf humidity so I wandered down to Chapparal street for a cold beer with one of my buds. We stumbled into this place around 10pm (if memory serves me correctly) and grabbed 2 seats at the end of the bar. I instantly felt at home, this establishment reminding me of a bar I used to work at back in college. There were banners SCREAMING with cheap prices on beers and cocktails. I think $2 was the selling price for a bottle of brew. Coming out from California, this was like hitting the lottery! This shit was pretty much free! About 11pm rolled around and this place got packed! Now I felt like i was in heaven, this was like college all over again. 21-26 year old crowd, cheap alcohol, and beautiful (and extremely polite) women. The servers were cool and quick to refill/replace an empty container. I'm giving it a full 5 stars because of great service, good crowd, and (practically) free alcohol. I went back the next night (sunday) flying solo and hung out with the bar staff as they had a band playing a few sets throughout the night. The bartender was gorgeous and super nice, and kept a full glass of Ketel in front of me. All in all, an excellent bar. Young, fun crowd/staff. I'm surprised I remember it. I'll def return the next time i come to Corpus. read more

Wish I could leave zero stars. This place is SUPER ghetto. Bartenders have their blinders up, the clientele is ghetto, drinks are super cheap and watered down. Something stupid like $2-2.50? I had a makers and water and I swear it was a tall glass. I turned away after the bartender pulled out a jigger and I scoffed at it and she was embarrassed. When I turned back I saw the size of the glass and asked if she had anything smaller. Her response was a shot glass. I just drank the drink like the water it was and moved on to Shiner on draft. Recommended by my friend to check this place out after moving from California to Corpus. I LOVE this place. I instantly feel at home here and the drafts are pretty cheap. If you are looking for mixed drinks probably not your place to go this place is kinda pricey on that end but if your a beer drinker come on in. It is a great dive bar. If you are looking for crowds then you have to wait till about 10:30 pm on any given night. The good thing is that it is close to Cheers and Bourbon St so you can bounce around with out having to drive anywhere. I have been here several times and I have no complaints....yet. read more

We ended up here two nights in a row - it was the only place around we could get a good viewing for the baseball game. When we walked in the bartenders asked us what we wanted to watch (they could tell we were looking for something) and put the game on for us. Very nice. Drinks were pretty good - they have small bags of chips but I don't think they have food. I think they will order a pizza for you if you want. My favorite bar when I'm come to Corpus Christi. My old band used to play there and Amos & Company always took really good care of us when we were there. They have live bands on Sunday nights, charge no cover and have really good drink specials. The best place to stop by for a drink in the coastal city. My only complaint, free parking is hard to find in Corpus, even on a Sunday night. read more

I worked here and have no hard feelings. However I do not habitually drink here. Maybe once every few months. Definitely a college/douche crowd. The staff is great. They have great drink specials. The owners come in there and get drunk.... A LOT... they even buy customers drinks quite often. I think the staff and owners are friendly and popular among the customers. Just not feeling the crowd that goes in there. Definitely check out the specials on Wednesdays though, I think it's still $2.50 call/premium. Really good liquor deals. read more
