The atmosphere is great, staff are friendly, and it should be the perfect spot to grab a pint. One hang up was with the Guinness pours I had. It tastes like there's an issue with the dispense system, possibly the gas mix, dirty lines, or tap maintenance. Guinness is extremely sensitive to how it's stored and poured, and when it's off, it's very obvious. I genuinely like this bar and want it to succeed, which is why I hope ownership sees this and takes a look at the draft system. read more

This bar recently went under renovation and it is very nice. The outside is very beautiful the inside of the bar they got their ceiling redone and it's no longer looks disgusting. The bartenders are really cool and there's always live music playing on the weekends so come by and grab yourself a pint. read more

A group of us came on a Wednesday night and experienced superb service and a great time in this relaxing, dimly-lit (a good thing) environment. Interesting beer selections (lots of IPAs) and a decent number of beers on tap. We had some wine drinkers with us, and they were happy with the house wine (cabernet) as well. Really cozy high-top tables seat 4 people perfectly and are conducive to conversations. We got here at 11pm and closed this place down at 2am. Irish Pub time warp! No one ever even acknowledged our existence. We came in on a Monday just before 9 pm. There were 6 guests in the establishment. There was no host or any worker visible except for the bartender who was talking to a small group of 3 people at the time so we just sat grabbed a cocktail table 5 ft from the bar and sat down. A few minutes went by and the bartender never acknowledged us, just looked at us a few times and kept talking to who we assume at this time by the type of conversation they were having were her friends. We kept waiting because we were in no hurry but eventually realized this bartender could care less so we left. Would not recommend unless you personally know whoever works there. read more

My drinking days are behind me, or so I thought, but finding this small, but well appropriated bar/pub brought on a night of reveling and drinking like in my younger days (don't let my profile pictures fool you). The place was small, and granted I had started drinking before I got there, but I was not so gone to miss large glaring details. There were perhaps 7 tables/booths, plus two bar counter areas. Despite the size I'd say there were a good 50 people inside. The staff was quick, the drinks were good, didn't try the food if there was any. The noise level was almost unbearable, but that was part of the whole being small thing. I think on a less busy day (there was a conference nearby and the place became the popular bar to hangout after hours), the place would feel intimate. I think there was live music but hard to remember after the I'm not sure how many beers and two car bombs. If you are stopping by Corpus Christy and need a fun place for a drink, this place is certainly it! read more

They make some of the best cocktails I've ever had, and never skimp. The atmosphere is great too and they have crackers or pub mix at the tables usually. My only 5 star Irish Pub still stands with Trinity Hall in Dallas. They're genuinely Irish, and will not be taken down by anyone. So my loyalty remains. With that said, Cassidy's would be on my top 15 for Irish Pubs! About 3.5 stars. The environment is set up well, a little more "bar" than "pub," but who's noting differences, right?! It does have the dim lighting and a couple different nook areas to hang out in. Not bad. The drinks are poured well, and the service is good... most of the time. I've been a couple times with crappy service, but hey, it's a bar. And you get what you pay for. As far as the live music, it'd be a great acoustic spot. But they choose to bring in live bands that make it incredibly difficult to hear any conversation, and the music typically echoes off of the walls. It's really not a good spot for live music, and wouldn't take much to beat. But, there are no other places close by, so they win at that. I'd say, if you're in town and nearby, stop in. Cool little place to hit up w/ a couple friends. When I'm in Corpus this is where I like to kick it, the place is quaint and gets bumping, I've been both on a Fri and Sat night. The atmosphere is fun! Loud ppl, good music, good laughs, good drunks, good times. I know they have a pretty good selection of beer on tap and they make some pretty stiff drinks (just the way i love it). The times I've been they have a live band; older dudes that know how to rock and still party! My vodka drinks were 5 bucks a pop and I don't remember how much beer is : / and I don't remember standing a terrible long time at the bar waiting to get a drink. I've been to Corpus many times and Cassidy's is an enduring part of the downtown scene. It's a conventional Irish pub with excellent service. There is no better place in the area to grab an Irish Coffee, an Irish Mule, a shot of Jameson, or a Guinness or Harp. It's an institution. Facilities are clean, they have a decent lineup of live music, and the service is outstanding. It's a safe bet and a good place for locals and tourists alike. read more
