It's a cozy little space on Michigan Street with takeout, pick-up and dine-in options. The food is great and the service has always been very friendly. I've sampled multiple menu items and have not had a bad one yet. While the French Dip and Italian Bomber are good, I have been gravitating towards their burgers, which are exceptional. My boys and I have tried over 40 places for burgers in the GR area, and this is one of our very favorites. The Pickle Poppers and Truffle Fries are tasty sides and the 'Pickle Dippin' Sauce' is quite addictive.

And by god, was I impressed. It's a small little sandwich shop off of Michigan Ave that has seating for maaaybe 20 people. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich to go, and when I got home to open my box, my jaw dropped. These guys put not one, but TWO mf chicken breast cutlets on this poor, poor bun. Topped with delicious house made pickles (their namesake), a fresh and tangly slaw, and a spicy oily sauce, this thing was a behemoth. And for, like, $15?? This is two meals for the average person. My only complaint was that the bun simply could not shoulder the monstrous burden of what it contained. Additionally, dude the fries are phenomenal. And they absolutely LOAD you up. Get the truffle upcharge, it's worth it I promise. I have been a Two Beards fan for the better part of the past 15 years, but man, in terms of value, The Toasted Pickle takes the cake. I can't wait to experience whatever else these guys are whipping up behind the counter.

I think the Chicago dog and the Italian Beef with the au jus on the side were solid, but nothing to write back home to Chicago about. Better than Portillo's, kind of reminded me of Mr. Beef almost. Getting the sandwich wet is usually the rite of passage, but I went for the au jus on the side. Don't make the mistake I did. Everything just falls out of it when you tilt the sandwich to dip it. Also, if you think you can eat hot giardiniera peppers, just think for a quick sec longer because these ones were pretty hot for someone who has a decent heat tolerance.

We stopped in for a drink and ended up catching two different live jazz bands, which was such a great surprise and made it a really fun place to hang out for a while. We both had beers, shared a Chicago dog, and ordered wings. The Chicago dog was good, but the wings were advertised as crispy and unfortunately they were definitely not crispy. So I'd probably skip those next time. Other than that, service was good, prices were very reasonable, and we really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere and live music. Nothing fancy, just a cool little local spot to grab a beer, listen to some jazz and hang out. We'd definitely stop in again--just not for the wings! they say crispy on the menu yeah not so much. The face wasn't dirty so that's nice. There is an outdoor seating area as well as indoor.

I'm just blown away by this place, I didn't expect for it to be this amazing. The owners must have an anointed divine understanding of fresh food or something. The price was fair aswell. 100/10 rating

Mild summer peppers (5/5) were hand-picked from the farmer's market, and I was warned that a hot one might have slipped by (I said: I sure hope so!) and one did. Was grateful for the bread from the rabbit terrine, which is their house-baked sourdough. Full bar but not many beers, mostly lagers. One IPA which was a hazy from Ann Arbor and was great though. For brunch the next day we split the Chicken Katsu Hash (5/5) and added 2 more eggs. If we weren't traveling I'd have bought a pint of the house-made serrano-based hot sauce. Great service both times we went, and we were offered free coffee to go in all-compostable containers.

They will let you try samples in store if you ask. I recently tried their new summer menu and while the picnic burger was delicious, I expected it to be a bit larger for the price (it was on a slider bun). The Hawaiian mac salad was tasty, but was a little heavy handed on the red onion for my own personal preference. I will for sure be trying some other things on their picnic menu, but honestly looking forward to the fall hoping that they will switch back to their regular menu with soup and grilled cheese. I support whatever helps them stay open since I assume soup isn't the most popular option come July and heat waves!

When I arrived my order was waiting for me - it was nicely packaged and secure so everything was safely contained for my short drive home. The sandwich wasn't very melty, I ended up heating it up in a pan myself which helped. It was super tasty, though! I love the combination of cheeses. The steak and mushroom soup was really good, with chunks of meat in a creamy broth. The snert soup was very salty! The menu description indicated the snert soup should have sausage or kielbasa in it, but we didn't notice any. The restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating, but I'd probably just order there next time. You can also get samples.
