The atmosphere here is very colorful. All the walls have vibrant murals that look great. It has a very warm feeling to it all. I ordered a very unique burger, the Babble Burger ($22). This Burger has local beef, ham steak, bacon, 3 cheeses, fried egg, gravy, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions on a Brioche bun. If you love Biscuits and Gravy, this might be for you. For me it was a little too much. The individual parts all seemed very good, just a miss for me. Plus at $22 a pricey burger. They do not have Pepsi or Coke, they have Brix soda. I got Root Beer, because I find that it's usually more stable across independent brands. However it was a miss for me and was below average, though not bad. The service was excellent. Very friendly and happy. Overall a 3 star review. It was an interesting experience for me. Would I return? Probably would give their breakfast a chance, but wouldn't return for the burger. I really did enjoy the murals and service, so I might come back to see if I can raise the rating. read more

What a fantastic place! Upon entry everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is neat and full of colorful murals. The food lets get to the food. Never ever have I had such a fantastic burger. The mushrooms were falling out of the burger the flavors all meshed well together. I could taste the bacon and grilled onions. I was even able to get tater tots. I was torn between a burger or a breakfast burrito but went with the burger. The nice thing is there are no fillers in their meat and all of the items are fresh. Stopped in today for the first time at 11:00 on Thursday, all by my lonesome self--and SO GLAD I DID! It might be cold outside, but there is nothing but warmth inside Oscar Scots! I was greeted kindly by Alice; let me just say, the hostess with the mostest! She told me I could sit anywhere I'd like, so I chose a high-top table #21. Stacy was my very attentive server and helped me peruse the menu. I settled on onion rings and a BLT. They arrived at the table quickly. The onion rings were hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! The BLT on homemade bread was packed with bacon cooked to perfection--spot on! If you have a chance to visit this locally owned and operated establishment ~Do Not Pass It UP~ This place is exactly what needs to be supported by the community. Stopped in for breakfast with my wife this morning. We both ordered omelets with a side of sourdough toast. She got the farmers yet switched the ham for sausage. I got the Philly cheesesteak omelette, shaved ribeye was excellent and delicious. Mushrooms and onions and I switched the green peppers for jalapeños with steak and eggs is now my favorite dish. The waiter was so friendly and checked in on us multiple times. Food came out fast and the cups stayed filled to the top. The dinner was cozy family feel with a home town decorated walls with plenty of tables yet spaced out well. We would definitely come back and try the prime rib grilled cheese or the breakfast pizza. I belong to a "Foodie" group that had the pleasure of eating here. While the majority of the group decided on breakfast I chose to try their Philly steak sandwich. Not only was it huge but it was beyond delicious. Another group member decided on pizza. It was also huge and so good. Everyone else raved about their breakfasts. The owners smoke their own meats and bake most of the bread they serve. Service was exceptional. I recently returned to join friends for breakfast. I had the Oskar Scots Omelette. It was so fresh and delicious. My friends both had stuffed French toast. Add to it unending coffee and we were very happy diners. Make a point of going here. You won't be disappointed. read more

Oskar Scots serves some great pizza, but I came here to give a shout out to their homemade hot sauce. Their hot sauce is HOT, and we loved it! If you're looking to add a real kick to your food, and you can handle Reaper level spice, then you must ask for Oskar's hot sauce. It paired perfectly with our meaty pizza. Menu has all the basics covered. The burger and frisco melt are good and I would get them again. Fries are plain and could be improved upon. We tried a pizza recently and it was definitely something I'd get again. Supreme was REALLY heavy on the toppings. The dough was good, sauce was minimal but tasted good. Chunks of ham are not ideal on a pizza. They all fell off or got brushed off. Overall, we'll get the pizza again minus the ham. Love supporting small business. The service is great; very friendly. We came here after an early airport drop off run. I looked for places open. One review stated it was overtly conservative and religious so we thought "let's go". For the record it is absolutely not overtly anything. The food was decent. My husband got the meaty (I forget the name) and I ate some. It was good. The bacon was just crisp enough. Oskar Scots was born out of the long time Caledonia breakfast, lunch and dinner hot spot Fortune Chef, but, for many reasons, should have been aborted early in it's conception. Here's why... The food is outdated and lacks creativity and flavor. The prices are premium but the ingredients are the cheapest that can be bought from the nearest frozen foods supplier. The owner is a loud mouth who does not like change, criticism or patronage from anyone who doesn't agree with or suppport his political ideals (far right, dare i say extremists, only). He even posts signs in support of his preferred political candidates and will reject business from anyone who opposes or flat out doesn't agree with him. There is little to no reason to do business here. A disgraceful local business. Notice in all of the reviews about the "restaurant" the owner rejects all negative experiences and ratings with defensive, angered responses. A big red flag! Owner tries to shame all low star yelp (or any other rating wibesites) reviewers on his own FB page. He also reports all low star reviews as breaking Yelp guidelines in a shameless attempt to have them removed. Another reason he and his business are of low quality and integrity. Avoid this business at all costs. read more

Walked in to get carryout and the entire place is packed. Not just busy...a 45 minute wait for even just carryout. People smashed in like sardines. No masks, not even on employees. Apparently COVID doesn't exist in caledonia. Reporting to the state and local health department. This place is exactly why we are still in lockdown. Owners response? "We all have choices. We have already been reported, so..." Businesses complain of state shutdowns and then actively cause them to last longer. I'd hate to see the state of their kitchen if they cant follow simple health department requirements regarding masks. Disgusting. Edit to respond to the owner: Wrong. Your employee pulled their masks back on when we walked in with ours on. You are a disgrace to the restaurant community as we all sacrifice to keep our community safe, but have to deal with places like Oskars which keep us all down longer. Shame on you. You dont get to pick and choose which health department standards you abide by, and a quick search shows your reports are far from perfect. I have been eating at Oscar Scots since it opened. I commend the owner for standing up for small business' during the Covid pandemic. Have I had to wait, at times, for food? Yes We have. Was an explanation provided at those times, YES!. Have we also received prompt and quick service, YES! I challenge any of you naysayers to please put an apron on at 2:30am and start preparing for the hundreds of hungry patrons every day. I will dine here before a franchise restaurant. Ok so here's the deal.. if you have not ate here then you're missing out! Me and my buddy went here for the first time this am for breakfast and it was amazing ! The sausage gravy was definitely home made and one of the best I have had in along time. The onion rings were fantastic! Next up the breakfast pizza will have my name all over it and looks delicious. The owner Randy is a salt of the earth kind of guy and you can tell he puts his heart and passion into his food and it shows! We had breakfast here yesterday. It was without a doubt the worst excuse for eggs I have ever seen. They were scorched and turned over in such a way to be a shape of a half moon on the plate. Ordering them over medium, I didn't expect scorched eggs with the rest of the eggs being practically soft boiled( not fully cooked ). The American fries were deep fried cubes. They apparently have no scratch cooking knowledge as they say they do. You might as well serve french fries. When breaking down the price the english muffin my spouse ordered was essentially 3.00. Close to 9.00 for 2 eggs, american fries and english muffin including coffee. Don't eat there if you value great food. read more
