Got an omelet here recently. The service was really good, but the food was pretty much bland and tasteless. It was edible, but.., not worth what I paid for it. And my experience has been that it's been this way for a while. This place needs a different cook, or someone else buying the groceries. Have eaten here before and was always very good. Today I had the worst ham and cheese omelet in my life. The ham wasn't sliced up, just a single whole slice of grilled ham that was burnt and tough with a little cheese sprinkled on top. I have never had to use a knife to cut an omelet before today. Keiser's has been up and running since I was a little girl, and their menu hasn't changed much since then. They offer a brief selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but you are free to order whatever at anytime. For instance, when my family and I went for brunch on Sunday, I ordered off of the dinner menu with no problems. They mainly offer standard American diner foods, such as omelets, eggs & toast, pancakes, sandwiches, and a brief variety of entrees (chicken, meatloaf, etc.). My father ordered a make-your-own omelet (comes with toast), my mother got fluffy pancakes with a side of sausage, my brother-in-law got a French dip sandwich with fries, and, me bring me, I ordered the liver & onions. I've made and eaten chicken livers and innards before, so I am somewhat familiar with the thought of eating organs. This was my first time eating cow liver though, and I was curious as to why this rather unappealing dish was listed on the menu. It came with a side salad, a potato side, and a vegetable side. The vegetable of the day was green beans, and I had the choice between choosing fries, hash, mashed, or a baked potato for my potato side (I went with baked potato). The salad came first; very standard iceberg lettuce with some red cabbage and carrots thrown in, mounted with shredded cheese and tons of croutons (comes with choice of dressing). Then my dish came: 1/2 lb. of liver topped with caramelized onions, a mound of overcooked green beans (probably from a can), and a baked potato. Aside from the green beans, I was pleasantly surprised with everything; the liver was tasted delightfully like steak, and was very tender to boot! I would definitely order this again in the future; I am just sorry for any unfortunate soul not ordering it merely because of what it is. The potato is what you would expect: a baked potato (nothing fancy, nothing wrong with it). My mother's pancakes came with three ENOURMOUS pancakes topped with butter and a side of maple syrup. She didn't even get halfway through before surrendering them to me (I can have a beast appetite, and I was pretty hungry at the moment). The pancakes were good enough. I'll leave it at that; again, nothing special, and frankly, even lacking (there was not enough syrup for such thick pancakes, making it more of a dry cake-eating experience than anything else), but I still ate it all. My dad had mentioned how he didn't necessarily like how much cheese was in his omelet, and was better off ordering eggs in the future, and I noticed my brother-in-law not finishing his fries. Overall, while the portion sizes may be worth the money spent, the quality of food you receive is more or less adequate or mediocre. I really enjoyed the liver & onions, but everything else was more or less just okay or could even do without. Our server was sweet, but was also a little hard of hearing (I had to repeat my order at least three times before she understood). Our water was never refilled, but our dishes were cleared when we were finished eating. At the end of the meal, our orders the server had written is taken up to the front cashier, where it is rung up and paid for. Keiser's was never really my favorite place to go to, since I more often than not try to watch how I eat, but that isn't to say that the staff isn't friendly and welcoming. It's very impersonal, and every local has come by to eat at least once. read more

I took my son there this morning for breakfast. A server approached our table. Proceeded to take our order. I told my son he could have whatever he wanted. It's his birthday. She said good because you won't get anything tomorrow! Funny, not funny not sure! We didn't know her from Adam. She then left our table. She stood behind us at a table for 30 minutes chitchatting and gossiping about people in Lowell. Somebody else brought our food out. I was never offered another cup of coffee. But we listen to all the gossip from the table behind us and the server that should've been waiting on us was over there chitchatting for over 30 minutes. The food was mediocre at best. My eggs weren't done. My potatoes were not cooked thoroughly and my toast was cold. This is the only restaurant that serves breakfast and Lowell. Ifthere was any other competition this place would've been closed years ago. Lowell deserves a better restaurant! JUST Because you're the only restaurant doesn't mean you can treat people badly. Spending 35 for two on breakfast to be ignored. This restaurant been in business for a long time, but I don't know how they keep their doors open. Their servers need to do a better job. They have a great selection of foods ranging from breakfast to dinner and can order anything at anytime! They have great daily selections of yummy desserts, they have very good pies! When we first moved to Lowell in 2008 we used to go there quite a bit the food was good but it seems like the food is totally went downhill used to have all you could eat fish during Lent the last time we went there two maybe three years ago got raw fish I don't want sushi I want fried fish so told the lady she came back basically almost threw the food on the table which was his piss me off and blew my mind. deceit in the booths are very uncomfortable of feels like the springs are coming up my butt so there's a few other things about race that have been mentioned through the community and everything else won't get into that cuz I don't know if that's true or not but rumors sometimes candy true but that's not the main reason we quit going there was just a service at gone downhill. read more

This restaurant can be found on the far East side of Main street of downtown Lowell, MI. They are always busy, but they are great at getting you in and out. Keiser's Kitchen serves diner food and does a great business in Lowell. It is a family owned restaurant and it really shows in the wait staff. You feel right at home and can ask for an extra helping of potatoes or leave off the broccoli! It reminds me of the local family restaurant in my small home town - everyone knew everyone else that was there! And you could get the local news there every day! They have daily specials that are worth checking out - as in Meatloaf, Cabbage Rolls, Swiss Steak, for starters. The food is basic and good, not gourmet. The staff is cheerful, friendly, and works hard to make sure you are happy with your dining experience at Keiser's. read more

If I could give you zero stars, I would. A few months ago I came there and saw a dead bird on the ground right next to your front door and started crying. Not only that, but I came in and one of your employees laughed at me. I couldn't believe them! After calming down and ordering my food, I couldn't help but notice how sticky the chair and table was. Do you just not clean the place?! It's unfair that I can NEVER find a place clean enough for me! I am too old to be near trash and gunk! One of our two favorite family-run diners in Lowell, just 13 money saving minutes from Grand Rapids. This one is open a little later than the Backwater with a better selection for lunch or dinner. If you're taking an 80 year old father-in-law to breakfast at OhMyLordIsItEarlyInTheMorning, you should also know that Keiser's doesn't open until 6am, and the Backwater opens at 5am. Yup, that's how I like to spend my vacation. Service is always small-town friendly, the food isn't anything fancy but for what it is, it's the best in town. When I'm here, I have to remember that 8pm is too late for dinner, the crowd is in and done by 6 or so. Friday's fish fry is excellent, as good as any neighborhood place in Milwaukee, and all-you-can-eat is more than I should eat. For a buck-fifty you can get one of their coffee mugs, my brother is getting a matched set for his birthday (can't get that in the Bay Area and I cannot afford Williams Sonoma like he wants). For dessert, ask if Trudy can make you a chocolate ice cream soda. It's just not as good unless she makes them. read more

While the food at Keiser's is good home cooking, I am sorry to say that not all of the staff is friendly. A while back I ordered an omelet with "egg whites only" and was told that they called it Polish, because there are "no yolks". Ha ha, very funny. I told the waitress that I was Polish and really didn't appreciate the joke so I would order it as egg whites only. Today we went for breakfast again and she was there. When she saw me, she rolled her eyes and looked away. She refused to wait on us but when our order was ready she made sure she brought it to the table. She said "Who gets the Polish omelet - oops (hee hee) I mean egg white omelet". There are other places to eat breakfast so I will not be going back. read more

Went with my mother and toddler for breakfast and the waitress could not have made it more obvious that she was irritated to have a young child seated at one of her tables. My little one is very well behaved, however she is little, and messy. After eating I cleaned up the table and high chair however there was food under the table - I think you expect that at a FAMILY restaurant. Waitress made a rude comment about the mess as we were leaving, despite the fact that we acknowledged and apologized, and tipped at nearly 50%.
