We came to the butcher block social around 5:00 p.m. it wasn't very busy, we were greeted and sat to a spot quickly. After giving us our menus and giving us time our waiter got our drinks, which I might add they have very many to choose from especially when it comes to whiskey and bourbon they have four pages on their drink menu alongside wine tequila rum gin and even mocktails if you're looking for something non-alcoholic. I got the Brooke which was wonderfully prepared. My husband got the prime rib (28) along with cornbread casserole and I got pulled pork loaded Mac and cheese with deviled eggs salad. My husband's prime rib was cooked to perfection and the casserole was up to his liking-however my meal tasted wonderful but was quiet cold as if it sat for a moment. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and always on track with things he was very good at making conversation he even invited us to stay a little bit longer to watch for live music and told us we could stay as long as we want when we were done with our food.

The atmosphere is a little hard to classify. There are upscale elements, but not fancy. There are woodsy elements, but only touches. It is definitely a very welcoming feel. We got the House made Chips and Dip ($8). We got the Smokehouse bean dip, the queso, black bean & corn salsa. The chips are very good and all the dips were excellent, however the smokehouse dip was my favorite, it's fantastic. I ordered the BYO Bbq Wet Burrito ($16). It has pulled pork, shredded cheese, and smokehouse bean dip wrapped in a tortilla. It is then covered in bbq enchilada sauce. It was excellent. Nice complex flavors that combine perfectly. One of the people I was with ordered the Smokehouse Smash Burger ($18). This has a 6 oz house ground brisket & chuck patty, smoked cheddar & gouda, black pepper candied bacon, lettuce, tomato, and herb remoulade. It was stated to be very good. The other person I was with ordered the Campfire Crust Flatbread pizza ($18). The crust was declared to be excellent and the pizza itself was very good. One warning, the menu claims it feeds 2. Only if your bird eaters. The service was excellent. Very friendly and efficient. Overall a 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely.

One of my best friends and I heard about the "girl dinner" event that butcher block social was having and were eager to try this spot out. Service was friendly from the very beginning and we got directed to their newer speakeasy area of the restaurant which has such a cozy and inviting vibe. The drinks were great and made well from the bartender and then food impressed us. The truffle waffle fries with aioli were our favorite! We both will be back to try their regular menu soon!

Came here for lunch on a weekday just before the rush- it is now table service (instead of ordering at the counter) per our waitress. Service was speedy - the menu has something for everyone ranging from BBQ to salads and tacos. Since I generally eat gluten free, I went for just the 1/2 pound of brisket and also got mashed potatoes. Sadly there is no combo meal of brisket + a side but I wish there was! Otherwise it gets pricey. The sandwiches and burgers seemed like better value/deals but I didn't want to go bunless/breadless Brisket ($14)was tender flavorful and delightfully smokey. The mashed potatoes were delicious but again, value for a $5.75 scoop of potatoes is questionable. The below meal cost $20 not including tip. Inside there is a lot of space and big tables to accommodate larger groups which is nice. Overall, it was great and for those getting things beside the BBQ meat, it's definitely a great lunch spot in terms of value.

Nice atmosphere, good old fashioned, great prices, good food, but the service did not leave us impressed. We were a table of 4 and a child on a Sunday at 12:30 and we didn't get out of there till after 2 (of which they close at 2) because it so slow. They weren't that busy either. I'll likely give them another chance tho because I did enjoy the food and drinks.

Cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, coleslaw, half chicken, brisket, and pulled pork. Pickled onions and pickles are complimentary.

Excited to see another local restaurant in Caledonia. As others have said, the concept needs a little bit of explaining so some big signs would be helpful. Luckily when we walked in, a server was nearby and pointed us to the far counter to order and said a server would come take a drink order after we pay and grab a table. So you will have 2 bills at the end of the day. They have a menu you can order off of or you can just pick meat based on weight and add sides. For a weekend lunch, the only meat was pulled pork, brisket, and chicken. I wish they had some sausage or ribs but it sounded like they had ribs cooking for dinner. The sides were all delicious. I've seen some comments complaining about the sides but we liked them all. The coleslaw was very light, and the potatoes/mac and cheese were seasoned nicely and not mushy at all. The brisket was our favorite meat of the 3 but I enjoyed it all. The pulled pork seemed to have a seasoning on it that was similar to a Mexican/taco seasoning, which was interesting. We loved the variety of bbq sauces on the table! The staff checked on us multiple times even though it isn't a true waiter scenario, which was nice. They also have a coffee shop in the corner which I believe has different owners, but I'm not sure how that really works.

The service was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone was kind and welcoming. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a wagyu sirloin that had a red wine reduction, crispy onions, potato gratin and garlic green beans. We also ordered two kids trays which were priced very fair at $9 for the options and amount of food received. Our kids had the fried chicken tenders, grilled steak and picked sides of fries, mashed potatoes and fruit. The kids trays also came with drinks. Since this was a birthday celebration or server did make it special by brining a sweet treat and candle and even discounted my meal! I thought an old fashioned was an old fashioned, but this one was delicious and available for happy hour, can't beat that! Then at the bartenders recommendation, I had the meatballs for appetizer and the hangar steak for entree. First, the meatballs, very good, I'd give it a 4/5 minimum. Portion was very respectable, meant for a shareable appetizer but it was just me lol. The ricotta is a delicious touch. Then the hangar steak. It's the best steak I can remember having in a long time, and on a relatively inexpensive cut such as a hangar. I just can't express enough how impressed I was with it. And I'm not a sauce with steak type but the aioli just completes it so well. 5/5, and I'm pretty picky. If I come back to Grand Rapids I will visit here at least once.

Total panic. We called One Bourbon on a longshot, expecting a "sorry, we're closed." Instead, they did something absolutely unbelievable: they opened their restaurant -- on a day they're normally closed -- just for us. That kind of kindness is almost unheard of. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like family. They set up a beautiful, intimate space, took incredible care of our guests, and made sure everything flowed seamlessly. The food was fantastic. The cocktails were perfection. And every single person there felt genuinely invested in making our wedding reception special. Because of them, our day went from almost falling apart to being absolutely unforgettable. Everyone at our reception raved about the experience -- and so are we. If you want a place with incredible food, amazing drinks, and a staff who actually gives a damn about people, go to One Bourbon. They earned customers for life that night. We had escargot (for the first time!) and were blown away! The little serving of pasta that came with was an added bonus (and cured my constant craving for buttery noodles!) For entrees, we had the butternut squash gnocchi with shrimp added, and the duck al orange. The gnocchi was the perfect amalgamation of flavors, with the sweet squash, tangy goat cheese, and salty shrimp. The duck was juicy and delicious, and Derek loved the broccolini that came with it as well! (Honestly, I don't know how they made a vegetable taste like that!) We were so bummed we didn't save room for dessert, because the whole dessert menu looked insane. I'm looking forward to coming back for some french onion soup, a little dessert or two, and maybe a drink on the roof of the weather ever warms up! Service hovered in a way that felt more judgmental than welcoming. On top of that, almost everything was $2 more than the menu price (my tiny side salad listed at $7/14 came to $9), and our bill shows a "seat count" of 10 even though we were seven -- probably why the automatic 18% gratuity hit. The food itself was mid at best; ironically, the highlight was a coffee mocktail.

I was so excited about this option when I saw it on Instagram but there is so little mention of it in the menu (basically an, "ask us about our mini cocktail flight" at the bottom of a page) and no leaflet showing the flight details or price. I'm very much a person that likes to try a little bit for everything so once I remembered it after we left, I had a moment. I got a Gin Fizz and the bf got a Blueberry Vanilla Mule. The gin Fizz tasted very much like lemonade, even with the addition of cran flavoring. The Blueverry Vanilla Mule was very strongly clove. If you like clove, you'd likely like that one. We decided against getting second cocktails since happy hour had ended, but got a flight to try their stuff. We like the liqueurs but they are hard to sip straight due to all the flavor they pack. Our favorite was the Pink Peppercorn Gin out of everything we tried. I'd highly recommend it especially if you don't know much about the company. The interior has a 20s speakeasy feel, which I really liked. It's a little fancy but comfortable and welcoming. The drink menu was pretty large and it was tough for me to choose which drink I wanted after the flight. I ended up with the blueberry margarita because it was on happy hour. It was really great! Not too sweet. Nate got the cherry black Manhattan which we both enjoyed too. I loved the flight because we got to try pretty much all of the spirit offerings, including their amaro, Oaxacan green corn bourbon, and pink peppercorn gin, which were all unique and very tasty.
