Only 3 stars due to the slow service. Arrived with two small children and didn't have to wait for a table which was nice, so we thought it would be a quick breakfast, which is appreciated with little ones. At first we were concerned, because we were not greeted by a server for a little while. Eventually a server came over to take out drink order. Little confusing why the servers were so hectic given the number of empty tables, once we ordered we figured out this mystery. We spent over an hour waiting for our food. This is not the server's fault, but waiting for over an hour for breakfast food when the restaurant was not that busy was very off putting. Our server was nice enough to bring our toddler's pancake first once the clock tipped over 45 minutes. Food was good, my husband got the breakfast burrito and I got the cruiser omelette, although I didn't get the modifications I ordered. Also, ordered the oatmeal which was very good. Really the only down side was the kitchen service. Food was very good, maybe it was an off day. However, with the amount of empty tables we saw I'm scared to think what table turn around is when it's busy. read more

Found this place on yelp. was seated quickly but Waiting 20 minutes for food so far, lots of others with no food either. Here for breakfast on a sat morning. Would not make me a turkey club as it's 'breakfast only' now. Waitress says old owner would have but new will not. One soda refill limit. Kids and wife hanging spoons from noses out of boredom. They did make a grilled cheese for my son at least. had to ask waitress where food is. It finally arrived after 25 min. Food was decent. $23.23 for grilled cheese 2 sodas mushroom and onion omelette fruit bowl and short stack of French toast. Waitress was all business not friendly but she was very busy. She's been there 20 years she said. Food is 3 star service 2 star wait gets 1 star. read more

Ricks which is located in York Village in the basement of the old Realty building in town , has been for many years a landmark breakfast place for locals as well as folks from away! Re-enjoyed it most when Marge was running the business, she made a point of stopping by and saying hello which added that awesome local touch. Our clients have recently visited Rick's and suggested we go back and give it a try so today we woke up early and made our way over for breakfast. It hasn't changed much since the fire clearly it was much cleaner with a fresh coat of paint new chairs, the new counter much nicer and the clientele seemed younger which we truly enjoyed and of course as a local business owner we ran into people we knew which was another draw for us. So the bad news was that it took them 40 minutes to serve breakfast as they lost our order and we had to remind the waitress twice! When we did receive the food we will admit we are very pleased with the portions and especially the taste! I had the corn beef it was delicious and the rest of the meal was basic but good. The cook comped my dish and provided a fresh cup of fruit while waiting! Thank you very much! So where does one go from here, Kathy and I have decided that we all make mistakes and we look forward to coming back and having the whole experience be a great one! Have to agree with some other Yelpers... The food at Rick's is good! The wait staff is absolutely pleasant! It's just SUPER slow in there!! No wonder they put Trivial Pursuit cards on the table - so you don't notice how long you're actually waiting for! Have been there twice - the food brought me back for the 2nd time, but the repeated slow service will keep me from returning a 3rd time. Much more to see and experience in York than spending your whole morning inside these bricks. If they could just speed things up, this would be a solid breakfast place! read more

Rick's is our go-to restaurant for breakfast when we are in York ~ The benedicts, the pancakes, the homemade jam (my absolute favorite!) and the bloody mary's are to die for!!!!! A stop at Rick's is a must!!! read more

Quite Disappointed.....I came here all the time as a kid and was excited to see it re-opened. Unfortunately it was a long wait which is ok but once seated it was another 20 minutes before the server came over with her sour face and made it clear ,"I'm only here for drinks I'll come back for your full order". After another 15 minutes drinks came coffee etc with no sugar and no silverware. After a total of 45 minutes since being seated we finally ordered breakfast. Not kidding we still had no silverware and sat with no coffee refills until our food came out. Total time once seated 1 and 1/2 hrs for breakfast. The food was good which is why the 2 stars but the server was rude and unhelpful. She seemed like she didn't want to be there. Hopefully they hire some bussers and food runners because it was a shame I will probably not go back for a while if at all. read more

Came the day a microburst took down trees in the area glad they were open. A simple comfortable place w a simple menu w a nice array of choices. The corn beef was moist tasty and perfect in the Reuben served on a hearty multi rye. My pal had a chicken caesar which was generous tasty and had a good dressing. The onion rings were made there w a thin batter coating w an xtra dash of salt and pepper they were good though I usually like a heavier batter. Also had a tomato w roast veggie soup With more roasted veg and slightly thicker purée woulda liked it more. Hands down best hash I've ever had. When we initially pulled into the parking lot we expected a greasy spoon run-of-the-mill diner but it was so much more than that. The wait staff were awesome, the coffee was great and the food was delicious. I especially loved the fresh fruit they had that day. Great place for breakfast. Tucked away in the village, parking can be tough on a busy weekend morning, but definitely worth the effort. Service is always prompt and friendly, food is consistently good. We favor the pancakes, omelets and potatoes- always fresh and tasty. A favorite with locals, a definite must-try. read more

Don't go in expecting the "old" Rick's. It's very different. But, the food is excellent. I've had breakfast & a couple of lunches. The food is funky, lots of avocado, just different but good. I had their regular salad & although the chicken was a little overcooked it was still tasty. Mandarin oranges, blue cheese & onions, not what you would expect but great. So big I had the 2nd half for lunch the next day. I know they will try to accommodate if you want something special or not on the menu, which is nice. The wait staff isn't overly friendly & I think they are pretty slow, even when the place isn't very full but if you're not in a hurry, worth the wait. Makes me wonder how they are going to do when the summer people hit. The one really bad thing about going in this winter is it is absolutely freezing in there. I sat next to the heater & it wasn't even warm. Not sure if they're trying to save $$ or what but dress in layers! read more
