It's still worth a visit, but I'm not sure I can say it was as good as it used to be from my earlier experiences. My wife and I came in yesterday. She had the fried tandoori chicken burger and I had the Punjabi cheeseburger. I was actually a little surprised how mild the taste seemed with the tandoori. Aside from that, both burgers had great taste and made of good ingredients, but they were both a bit sloppy with ingredients frequently falling out when eating. The cheeseburger for example had too much mayo. It's not as though things have totally fallen by the wayside, and there's still a lot of positives, but I hope quality control hasn't started slipping a bit now that they're established. read more

I'm not usually a fan of Indian food, but my coworker told me that I had to try this place. He described it as an Indian fusion restaurant but I still wanted to try something basic. Considering how highly rated it was I was very excited to try it out. I ordered online and got the Punjabi burger. The menu description didn't say that there was any special ingredients so I didn't know what to expect. What makes it the "Punjabi burger" is how the meat is seasoned and cooked. It tasted like a butter chicken or tandoori chicken. The burger was very juicy and packed with flavour. I really liked the buns they used and I also liked how the meat wasn't too spicy - though it did have a small kick to it. In terms of value, I spent around $12 for this burger so I'm not sure if it's something I would regularly get. There are times a restaurant is great with good food and service. And there are times a restaurant has addictive food that you've found no where else and you know you will be back. This is one of the latter 5 star types. The rasmalai samosas were amazing. They were the perfect blend of sweet cheese and cardamom in a flaky sugar coated fried dough pocket. I should have ordered more than the two they talked me into. The dosa samosa was also quite good. The RFC was a little hot but I liked it better than traditional tandoori chicken as I prefer boneless chicken breast to legs and thighs served at most places. This is my go to whenever I am in Brampton. I want to try other places, but I can't resist the delicious flavors here. My favorite is the desi Impossible burger. The flavors are spot on, and unlike most Impossible burger dishes at other restaurants, you don't *just* get the flavor of the patty. I love whatever combination of sauces/condiments they add. That being said, my favorite thing here is by far is the Rasmalai Parfait. I generally don't do dessert, but every time I am in Brampton I have to swing by and pick up one of these parfaits. We've also tried one of their take-home-heat-up dinners (shahi paneer Mac and cheese). They took what could have ended up as a really heavy dish and somehow made it digestible and delicious. I absolutely loved the concept of this place, fusing Indian flavors with Canadian cuisine. What's even better is that the results are extraordinary. I ordered the Dosa Burger, a vegetarian burger that uses potatoes as it's patty. The burger has a nice, creamy like texture that I absolutely loved. The flavors of this burger was jam packed, my favorite of the flavors being the achari mayo. This mayo has such a good flavor and made me love every bite. But all the flavors of this burger worked together to give a flavor explosion. I also ordered the masala fries. These fries are flavorful and have a nice, unique, crispy texture. My only regret is that I didn't load these fries, will definitely try that next time, I'm positive that it'll just make these fries even more superb. Rick's got some good eats! I can't talk too much as I only had some Samosas, loaded fries, and a burger. What I did have was pretty delicious though! The Samosas were the BEST. Loved them all! The Loaded fries were good and plenty of them there, really a meal in and of itself. I had the Punjabi burger with the tandoori bacon added on. Flavor PUNCH!!! It all worked really well together, but burger was pretty dry and that was the low point. The Butter Chicken Samosas were soooo good. Little salty for my tastes (And I have some salty tastes), but delicious none the less. My favorite though, by far, was the Veggie Samosas of the day, which were the chickpea (Chaat maybe?) type and OUT OF THIS WORLD. I wish I had ordered 2,000 of them. But Rick's has made me realize when you mix flavours the results can be good!! I decided to shed any preconceived notions I had about "Indian Canadian" and went all in with my lunch partner. Between us we shared the dosa burger, masala fries, samosa and Gobi wings. If it weren't for the so-so wings I would give this meal a full 5 star rating! The masala fries not only take the idea of dressed fries to the next level, they made me realize yes you can have fries with everything!! I was not a big fan of Indian fusion food but this place had changed my mind. Food: Here's a list of all the things I've tried and recommend each and every item. The Butter Chicken Mac and Cheese, Butter Chicken Poutine (the best), Tandoori Tacos, Tandoori Chicken burger and the Jerk Chicken Samosa. If you like chat papdi, definitely try their chaat fries, this was my least favourite hence it being the most popular item. I always get the house made, Mango Pineapple Banana juice which is super refreshing after having these greasy meals. Ambience: Usually very busy with limited seats. You first order and than seat yourself. The service is super friendly, they'll take the time to explain the meals. Decor is casual. Cons: Not suitable for huge groups, limited tables. To start with let me just say that this Rick character (and he is real I have confirmed) is far too modest because I think it should be called "Rick's Great Eats" for the shortened version but really something more like "Rick's Amazingly Fantastic and Awesome Eats" ... enough with the preamble, in with the food. My friend Jasen that I was traveling with said after his first bite, "my taste buds are doing cart wheels and summer salts" with which I could not agree more! We both got the RFC sandwich which is a tandoori chicken which is then fried again and put on a bun. We added tandoori bacon and cheese and it was incredible! (see my new name suggestion) we shared an order of Jerked chicken Samosas and pumpkin samosas and had some masala spiced fries and each dish was remarkable in its own right. In my next trip to Toronto, I will make this place a destination!! Thanks Rick and your awesome crew who served us! Update: left Toronto today and I discovered I had time for lunch at Rick's so of course we stopped. This time I had the BLT and butter chicken samosas ans of course the pumpkin samosas for dessert. Foodwise, I ordered there grilled shahi paneer naanwich. It was a pressed panini sandwich filled with marinated paneer crushed in with sauce and achari mayo. Instead of fries I upgraded to their loaded fries (which was a meal in its self). The masala fries were topped with cheese, crushed Shahi Paneer, and jalapeno. Definitely a gem in Mississauga! I ordered the shahi paneer loaded fries and the Rick's fried chicken sandwich. Everything was extremely fresh (steam was coming out as soon as we opened the containers) and delicious. The fries were super crispy and the tandoori chicken in the sandwich wasn't dry at all, which I find is always an issue with chicken sandwiches. The order did take a bit longer to be ready but It's definitely worth it. Price isn't too bad either! AHHH-MAZING food!! Why don't we have one of these in the Bay Area (California)?! Absolutely delicious! I had the RFC burger which is an Indian version of a chicken sandwich and it was spectacular. Felt like the Indian version of Chick-fil-A (which is meant as a huge compliment)!! It was tender and delicious! It's a generous amount of chicken and the bun is soft and adds to the sandwich (see photo). I'm told they also offer this over a salad. Ive been numerous times throughout the years and they've never disappointed me, if anything the quality and service improves on every visit! The small eatery located between Courtney Park and Kennedy has maybe 10 tables, so it can get busy during lunch and takeout might be your main option. My favourite dishes are from their hot table- the Butter Chicken mac n cheese is absolutely rich and savoury, you'll get cravings after. The Mom's Biryani is also legit and delicious. The serving sizes for both are also great, and dont be surprised if you bring some leftovers home. If it wasn't for the raving reviews of this place, I probably would never have heard of it. It's located in a random area in north Mississauga. But the reviews do not lie. Everytime I come, seating gets filled quick, but if you wait around, you'd probably be able to get a table in a couple of minutes. Food comes in about 10-15 mins, depending on how many others there are. Lots of great options for vegetarians, didn't see alot of vegan options. Paneer naanwich If you want to try something unique, this is the guy for you! A delicious panneer filling wrapped with soft and yet crisp naan in a sandwich format. I didn't thing i would be able to eat it like a sandwich, but guess what - I was! Oh man, the spices used made it so delicious. And not spicy at all. Definitely how I like my South Asian food. I think 3.5 would be more accurate. The prices are about the range of say the works or five guys so I'm comparing based on that. I had the rfc with loaded fries and the fiance had the cheeseburger. The rfc burger was amazing. The egg bun combined with the double deep fried chicken patty was amazing. Easily worth the money. 5/5 based on that. The cheeseburger was really not good. First I like the egg bun but the cheeseburger really needed a more dense bun or less sauce. The bun fell apart. Second the patty meat was overworked to death. It's such an easy fix for this burger; grind the burger with an actual meat grinder. The burger looked and felt like it was meat put into a blender and food processed to death. Or just make smash patties. I think if they just didn't have such blended to death beef burgers and a more dense bun it would be amazing because the toppings really work. 2.5/5 The loaded fries were kind of disappointing as well. The texture and taste really reminded me of Costco fries. Unfortunately if they are the soft texture fries they kind of fall apart and get lost in the loaded fries. I think normal fries that have a crispy exterior would have worked better but not bad. 3.5/5 Also had mango lassi. Meh. Dessert samosa was ok. Don't know about the ras malai samosa, deep frying makes the inside not moist, just dry. Really thought it would have been like deep fried ice cream. Overall would recommend this place. It's a perfect fusion between western fast food an a beautiful twist of South Asian flavours.
