Hands down one of the BEST bruch places I've been to in Canada!! It is an Indian fusion brunch place with really unique brunch dishes. I got their beef kebab shakshuka because I'm not a fan of runny eggs and this had an option of making your eggs hardboiled. It came with beef kabab, boiled egg, a spicy tomato base and served with garlic buttered pav (bread)! If you know what pav bhaji is, this basically was pav bhaji with beef koftas and hard boilled egg. It was sooo flavourful, I couldn't get enough of it. My friends got their masala egg benny which came with poached eggs on a sourdough bread, homemade masala and curried hollandaise sauce. Really good as well! I always thought eggs benny were missing something and now I know what it was... masala! I was very curious to try their gulab jamun French toast so I went for it (I was pretty skeptical), OMG! It was one of the best French toast I've had. It was not too sweet, which is what you wouldn't expect from something that has gulab jamun!! The whipped cream blended in so well with everything, 5/5 for this one. Only one thing I was a bit disappointed with was their customer service. We had gotten a reservation for this place 2 weeks in advance, yet we had to wait close to 30mins when we went in. It might be because we went there on a busy Saturday! Other than that, everything was 5/5!!

This place has been on my list for a long time and I was finally able to check it off. We arrived early as they don't take reservations for groups smaller than 3 people. At around 11 is when this place starts filling up so make sure you arrive early. The menu is decent, typical brunch options with desi fusion. We both got a savoury item and the pancakes to share. We also got chai (masala and Gudwali). The gudwali chai is just masala chai with gud on the side instead of sugar. The service is fast and attentive. Which is great for a place that's packed! Each item on the menu is around $20-25 but the serving size is on the lighter side. If we had not gotten the French toast to share, I think I would still be hungry. The food tasted amazing. After tax and tip we paid around $110. Would I come back? Likely not.. there are so many amazing and affordable options just a train ride away, you're really paying for the location. Head over to Mississauga for something similar - but with significantly larger portion sizes. Kudos for the desi aesthetics and for putting desi food on the map!

Enjoyed the dining experience at The Kettle. We ordered four dishes for four people and it was just right! I really liked their chicken tikka masala eggs Benedict and their gulab jamun French toast! Their coffee was also super. Service was great except for the place not having good A/C which in the middle of the summer was annoying. Otherwise, good downtown option for desi brunch!

I really really loved this place. My friend and I did a walk in on Saturday morning & had to wait about 10 minutes before we were seated. The restaurant was packed but the staff was great to accommodate us so quickly. Really cool ambiance too. They have really great menu items, with fusion Indian flavors. We ordered the Indian breakfast which consisted of masala scrambled eggs, minced chicken, buttered Pav, masala potato's, soooo good. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. It's great for sharing too. My friend got a masala chai which she said was good too. We ended with the gulab jamun French toast, and let me tell you, it works soo well. I have a big sweet tooth so I loved it. Would highly recommend this brunchy restaurant!

Saw the hype online and finally came by to check this place out. I recommend booking a reservation online. They email you back to advise if confirmed. However, if you have to make changes to the reservation it can only be done be done so by calling the restaurant. Inside it's modern, high ceilings, stone wall, seating along one side, the other side you can see them preparing the food. We tried the brunch, tried the masala chai, it was alright. The kettleman Indian breakfast features eggs, Keema(ground meat), bread, potatoes. & salad It was tasty, the egg was cooked with onion and spices. The chicken shakshuka wasn't our favourite,. The runny egg mixed with curry style made for an interesting texture. Staff was friendly but a bit disorganized, we had several different staff constantly come ask if everything was ok. Ideally, that's Good customer service I understand, however, being constantly approached by different staff was a little excessive. Overall, we weren't blown away but did leave satisfied.

I read about this place in a BlogTo article and bookmarked it for a future visit. On a Saturday afternoon, my boyfriend and I were spending time in Queen St West neighborhood and were thinking of picking a place for dinner. I suggested this place to try and he was down! We were warmly greeted by all the staff (who were behind the open kitchen). The interior was modern and rustic- the contrast of solid dark colours with chrome colours added fun vibe to the space. Our waiter was a young man who welcomed us and asked if this was our first visit. We said yes and he informed us that if we would like a recommendation, he would be happy to suggest some items. We asked for his recommendation and he picked a few items from the menu. We ordered Dahi Puri, Butter Chicken burger, and a Curry. Everything that we ate were delicious. While eating, we realized that we forgot to take photos (oh no!) The service was attentive and friendly from start to finish. We enjoyed dining here so much that we returned here two months later! Our second visit was as great as the last. The service was great as last time- our waiter made sure that we had everything that we needed. This time, we took photos before we ate- for the appetizer, we got Dahi Sev Puri. For the main, my boyfriend picked a Butter Chicken Curry and a Masala Chai, and I chose a Lentil Curry. My boyfried said the butter chicken curry and the masala chai were delicious- the flavours brought out memories of his home (he is from India). The naan were soft and chewy, great for dipping into the curry! I enjoyed my meal as well- the curry was smooth and the flavours were dancing in my mouth! The service, the cleanliness, and the quality of food were consistent on both visits. If you like some fun and excitement to your dining experience, I highly recommend this place!

Tried this place after seeing a lot of social media videos. Overall the experience was just okay. My wife and I shared the masala omelet and the masala Benedict. The omelet had onions and some Indian spices and overall was quite good. The Benedict was a little disappointing. It was made of a poached egg, and a n Indian spiced hollandaise sauce on top of South Indian masala potatoes on sourdough. My wife liked it but I thought it was far too heavily seasoned. It wasn't spicy in terms of heat so much as it was just very heavily seasoned to the point where the spices overpowered any taste in the food. Service was also a little disappointing. We had ordered a chai and coffee with our food. It took a while before we could get a server's attention to remind them about our drinks. We ended up getting them after we were done eating. Overall, I thought it was just okay. Probably would not repeat.

Saw this place on instagram and had to check it out. It's a short ways away from Liberty Village in the Queen West area and its advertised as Indian Fusion Cuisine. What's really nice is their plating and their service. Plating wise, they have little trains, trays or even the wooden/string handle for the tea kettles, these small nuances make the experience feel so unique. Separate from that was the service. Unfortunately we had a case of very a rude customer causing a large commotion to the point the police were called, but the entire time the staff were courteous and respectful, despite being insulted/threatened by the man. We had to switch tables twice and the staff accommodated us every time even offering to re-heat or re-make our food, which was not necessary. The food itself was great tasting and the sauces were excellent. My favorite was the creme brulee dessert and panna cotta dessert, but of course the gulab jamin was great. Next time, definitely trying their take on the gulab jamun cheesecake!

Very tasty brunch! My friend and I really enjoyed the flavours, there's a nice mix of sweet + savoury plus Indian spices. The service was good and seating was well spaced. Only complaint is that the servings were on the small side - we both left feeling a bit hungry. I would definitely come back though to try other items on the menu.

went for summerlicious dinner. for $50 the quality was okay, the appetisers were delicious, esp the crispy fish tacos but the desserts were not great. i was excited about the signature smoked chicken curry but the foam wasn't for me. i still want to go back for their brunch menu which originally caught my eye tho!

When I booked this place before we even got to Toronto I know it was going to so good. I literally read the menu and my mouth was watering and I thought how much could we possibly eat here! So much good food . I loved the decor. Modern Indian with great old school music. We were the first here at opening and I suggest reservations, but it filled up fast after that. They are waiting in a beer and wine license but do offer some cocktails. And of course Indian masala tea and coffee. We shared a couple of dishes, the masala chicken Benny and the signature egg ghotala. Both excellent and come out steaming hot! Masala chicken Benny was their take on a Benedict. Thick sourdough toast with tikka chicken and curried hollandaise sauce with spicy home fries. This was nice and spicy and just a great combination of chicken and sauce and the bread was amazing . The home fries were also great and seasoned and crispy. The egg ghotala was and Indian shakshuka . Nice spicy tikka sauce and eggs on top with grilled garlic butter rolls. Amazing. We were truly full after this but I wish I could have tried more. Everything that came out if the kitchen looked amazing. The service was also great. Definitely come out to the kettle it's worth it from anywhere in Toronto!

Stumbled upon this halal brunch spot with a few friends & decided to check it out. Their menu is classic brunch dishes with an Indian fusion take. We ordered the chicken tikka masala eggs benny & beef kheema crepe. Both dishes were full of flavoural spices & the potatoes were spiced perfectly. Note that it was very busy on the weekend we went so we put our name down & waited at a nearby cafe for close to an hour. The environment was very bustling & they warned us that we could only order once in the beginning since i assume they want us to leave faster and avoid kitchen backlog. The restaurant is not that big after all.

I want to start this review off on a good note. The food here was actually very delicious. I got the Masala Egg Benny and my friends got the masala chicken ghotala. I love the western inspired brunch fusion twist to their food and the masala chicken was cooked to perfect. We also got the challan gulab jamun French toast, which was the perfect dessert to end off the meal. The jam and the cream paired perfectly with the crispy French toast . Why the 2 stars though? I'm sorry to say but my experience here was mortified by the service. We had a reservation for 12 at the restaurant. They didn't even have our name on their books, despite the email reservation confirmation we received. When we arrived, they told us that we would only need to wait for 15 minutes. We waited for 40 minutes and they were letting people that came later than us sit before us. It was not until we spoke up, that they said it was a mistake and sat us down shortly. During the meal, the food came out fast but they were also constantly rushing us throughout the meal. We were asked over ten times if we were done with our food, or ready for the cheque. This shows that the service and the food both matter a lot to the customer's experience at the restaurant. I would unfortunately not return despite the good food.

Naan itself was very fresh and flavorful. They didn't really put any butter on top which was quite nice. So just a classic lovely garlic naan. Dahi Kebab appetizer - so yum! It was really flavorful on its own, and with that mint chutney it was even better! Husband loved the Malai Kofta ! Curry was properly creamy and even the koftas themselves were good. Unfortunately, lots of places in Toronto who make promises of serving biryani teleport you to hell. My friends and family are lifelong fans of biryani. Of all the places Biryaniwalla is highly recommended and I have usually had it at get-togethers. This time though I decided to visit the place and order a take out personally. Located a few meters away from Bathurst station , the restaurant stands amongst other Asian eataries. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Ankita at the reception. We asked her for recommendations and she patiently explained us the options and advised 2 biryanis based on our spice tolerance and preferences. Taking her advice, we ordered: - Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket with double Masala for $43 ($39.99 for Biryani and Double masala pay $2.99 extra). - Palnadu Chicken Biryani ( $18.99) Ambience wise, the place is pretty chill with neatly lined tables for family and the huge Biryaniwalla Logo adorning the big wall. There was also a spin the wheel game, which you can play if you place a google review. While we waited for our order, the shop was quite busy with mobile food delivery orders. After about 10 minutes, we got our order and took it home. Chicken Kaju Ghee Roast Bucket: This is possibly their bestselling biryani. And I have to confess, I have tried it before and I absolutely love it. It is a delicious biryani , with nice moist chicken pieces, cashews and which is not too overpowering with spices. We ordered double masala because my better half likes it that way. The quantity for bucket was huge and can easily satify 3-4 people. Chicken Palnadu Biryani: Compared to Kaju Ghee Roast, this one is more tangy and a bit on the spicier side. It is a slight Achari taste and it was surprisingly delicious. Also, you get Salan (spicy-tangy gravy) and Raita (yoghurt mixture) with the biryanis, and they go quite well with the biryani. However, i somehow still felt the biryanis lack that authentic taste of biryani that you get in India and Pakistan. Real authentic biryanis have the inherent smoky flavor which comes from coal which is used to cook biryani and to give Biryani the dum ( pots are sealed and cooked over slow heat with coal - at bottom and at top.) Also missed that Birista that usually accompany Biryani layers. That being said, these are quite good biryanis. To foodies: Possibly the best biryani restaurant is toronto, that gets it as close to the authentic taste. The biryanis are delicious and they have lot of other options including seafood biryani. The quantities are huge and you and your loved ones will truly enjoy To management: Great biryanis. Great service by Ankita. Would love if you guys can sprinkle some birista ( fried onions) at the top layer or provide it on the side. Also it would be great if you can provide some incentive for customers who order directly from store. I knew you once had 10%.off , which when I asked was told it's still on but you need the offer card. I was a bit let down by that because at the end, it's just a formality. Also spin the wheel if you place a google review is a cheap tactic to get reviews. Just do it as a fun activity guys. Creates goodwill. As a brand strategist , I always recommend customer experience over a few dollars Overall this is a great place for biryanis. I definitely recommend it.
