I arrived at a little after 1:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon and they were already down to only a few donut twists and a few mini cake donuts. I got one of each and both were the perfect treat! Kathie , who happened to be the owner Julie's sister assisted me - she was extremely nice and engaging! She even threw in a complementary donut! She also informed me that I could call in to request they hold any of their baked goods for pick -up. I think this is a great way to gain new customers and to keep existing ones! I can certainly see why Fultondale Bakery is a well known staple in the area. It has a home style & cozy feel to it , which is very welcoming. The interior isn't very big but limited seating is available. The pricing menu is posted for all to see and the display cases are well lighted to show off all the yummy sweets! The cookies were large and decent enough. I wish there'd been more pecan pieces, and for my preference, they were a little too thin/crunchy. I like my cookies a little bit softer, especially in the center. Still, they were fine cookies.
