The cakes are phenomenal and the prices are more than fair this place has been in business for at least 20 years bc they sell great muffins , etc at a great price - I saw a comment where somebody was disappointed that they didn't warm something up for them(?) and I want to comment this place is not a restaurant- it's a bakery and they've usually got one or two people - you may have to wait ,but it's always worth it. They're not there to serve you, but to sell you the stuff . And yes, they're gonna be out of Muffins especially on a Saturday- Here is how to make a muffin perfect at home - if you have a Breville smart oven you put it on "warm "for 235° for 25 minutes.they taste fresh out of the oven every time. I always email (before 2 AM.)You can pick up your order the next day and it'll be in a box ready for you.- I seriously don't know what it would happen to me if this place ever closed because I'm so addicted to their carrot muffins and I have never tasted anything like them anywhere else! The morning glory , etc ( every muffin they have is amazing ) but if you haven't tried this place, you're missing out this one of my favorite places in Birmingham. (To compare them with Publix Muffins is laughable imho )

As we walked through the farmers market looking at all the cool things we came across Velvet Kake LLC. It's a black owned business but that's not why we were drawn to it. I mean look at all the delicious baked good treats she had nearly everything you could think of and I was so surprised Auntie (not my real Auntie) said all these items were baked that morning. Yall we didn't get there till a little after 8am. Think about that for a second. Impressive right?! Anyways this post is getting long so real quick this is what I personally bought. Peanut Butter Cake: yall this was so freaking good it was hands down probably one of the softest moistest piece of cake I have ever had and I give it a good 9.8/10 I also got the chocolate chip cookies. For the size of these things they were good and soft. Not much to say. I love a good cookie and it was made exactly how I like them and for that 9.5/10. I plan to go back and purchase more goods that's for sure. Please if you can go support this lady and her business however you can. You can find Velvet Kake LLC on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, and X (Twitter). They have a website link but the website no longer works. But I believe there may be an email somewhere.
