I go in here at three or four times a week because of the carrot muffins! everything I've ever had in this place is good. It's freshly made! The cakes are phenomenal and the prices are more than fair this place has been in business for at least 20 years bc they sell great muffins , etc at a great price - I saw a comment where somebody was disappointed that they didn't warm something up for them(?) and I want to comment this place is not a restaurant- it's a bakery and they've usually got one or two people - you may have to wait ,but it's always worth it. They're not there to serve you, but to sell you the stuff . And yes, they're gonna be out of Muffins especially on a Saturday- Here is how to make a muffin perfect at home - if you have a Breville smart oven you put it on "warm "for 235° for 25 minutes.they taste fresh out of the oven every time. I always email (before 2 AM.)You can pick up your order the next day and it'll be in a box ready for you.- I seriously don't know what it would happen to me if this place ever closed because I'm so addicted to their carrot muffins and I have never tasted anything like them anywhere else! The morning glory , etc ( every muffin they have is amazing ) but if you haven't tried this place, you're missing out this one of my favorite places in Birmingham. Had some time to kill early in the morning so stopped by to see what they had. I'm wondering if they left the unsold muffins from yesterday out for today because the muffins i got were somewhat stale/hard. The breakfast casserole was very mediocre, and they didnt have a great selection to start, which was weird you figured a lot of people would be coming in early but half of their muffin trays were empty before 7am and no one was there, looks like they get a late start for a bakery. Every time I've gone they have been the best there sugar cooks are very good along with their muffin. The only con was There was one time the muffin I got had walnuts and didn't know due to no signs stating may contain nuts even on the muffin card, and I'm highly allergic to walnuts. They also keep nut muffins in the same case so bewarnd if you have a nut allergy this is not the place for you. But I thankfully can still have other muffins they have my fav two are pumpkin spice and the lemon poppy seed. I stopped in this morning to get the kiddos a few muffins. I made the mistake of coming around 9am, which means they sold all of the delicious apple mini muffins, but they still had banana nut! I got a chocolate chip muffin top, 2 banana nut mini muffins, 4 mini shamrock cookies, and one butterfly cookie. My 3 year old ate all of her chocolate muffin top and half of the banana nut muffin, and her little sister ate all of her banana nut mini muffin. They both loved it. I gave the oldest half of the butterfly sugar cookie and I ate the other half. Man oh man was it delicious (always are). I proceeded to eat 2 of the mini shamrock cookies as well. The iced sugar cookies are so dang addictive and the price is great (trust me I've made iced sugar cookies and they were SUPER labor intensive). Well....I really love their muffin tops. I've had so many people bing them to get togethers and so we thought that we would try them out for breakfast. We really liked their breakfast biscuits that were mixed with cheese, ham, bacon, or sausage. We also ordered a pimento cheese sandwich which was okay. A German Apple muffin top, 2 blueberry ones and a carrot cake one and we had more than enough for all three of us to split. So here comes the disappointing part. My husband asked to have the biscuits warmed and they pointed us over to a tiny microwave. Or as we call them- Chef Mike. Kind of disappointing. Who wants to microwave bread products??? Yuck! It would be nice if they had a worker of at least a nice toaster that they could use to heat up baked goods instead of having to nuke them in a microwave. So we will go back, except we will just get our items to go so that we can take it home and warm them properly. The muffin tips are great. read more

You can get the good part of the muffin without having to labor through the bottom half which we all know is only the 2nd best part of a muffin. Love the chocolate croissants here - warm them up for 10 seconds and you'll want more than just the one. The muffins are good unless you're expecting them to taste like what you'd find at Sam's or Costco. The muffins here a little more floury - perhaps a little more homemade and less processed of a taste? They seem to have a great variety of items unique items not typically found in your average bakery - pimento sandwich is one of them. There seems to always be a line bright and early in the morning, but the line moves very quickly. They are great at serving and ringing, but not too many conversations to be had otherwise. For weeks now I have tried to call to make a large order for my workplace, but no one picks up. Did not want to be rude and just walk in there and buy everything up but I may not have a choice. Went to breakfast at Magic Muffins. I've had their items at various events for years, but never been in their store location. It kind of had a deli feel, plenty of seating and they offer more than just baked goods! I will say, their breakfast offerings are fairly simple. Meat and cheese flavored biscuits (I got the plain cheddar- fluffy and very tasty), muffins, muffin tops (the blueberry caught my eye, thin muffin top gives you all the flavors of a full muffin, but not all the calories!), mini muffins, and strawberry biscuits (actually really had a nice strawberry flavor to it!Also soft and delicious). They have cheese grits, but all items are served cold and they have a microwave available for you to use to heat. It is a simple counter service option for breakfast. Not a full menu restaurant (no bacon, pancakes, and eggs here!). They did have two gluten free muffin options (see photo for ingredients). As you can see in the pictures, they have TONS of take and bake options, casseroles, soups, side dishes, main courses (some GF options). Would be nice to have for a busy night or to take to a friend when they have a baby or an ill family member. They also have sandwiches and chips to purchase if you need a quick lunch. The staff greeted my group with a smile and helped us get our items (very reasonably prices. $5.50 for a drink, muffin top and two biscuits). The people at Magic Muffin might be some of the nicest people around! We made an appt to stop by and do a cake tasting for our upcoming wedding. They were beyond helpful! Which is huge thing when going through the stress of planning a wedding. The cake we tried ( vanilla, strawberry and red velvet) were DELICIOUS!!!!!! We decided to do half vanilla and half strawberry. They absolutely have the BEST prices in town for wedding cakes. Go by and check out there albums full of different styles of cakes they do. Kudos to Magic Muffins for everything being delicious!! I hadn't been to Magic Muffins since I lived in the neighborhood 12 years ago. Back then they were known for their muffins, muffin tops and cakes. At a friend's suggestion for a pre- Christmas meal that I didn't have time to cook, she suggested their casseroles and that all were delicious. I high-tailed it out to MM's and Wow have they expanded!! They suggested for my group with a 2 year old and 9 month old the Shepherd's Pie. I was skeptical but since the topping was mashed potatoes I was intrigued. The lady who makes them said it was not like the Shepherd's Pie we all know and grew up with. It was so delicious!! The 9 mo old loved it, as did the 2 year old and adults. I also had the spicy pimento cheese sandwich the day I visited and it was great!! I bought some iced cookies and they were perfect!! I had never heard of Magic Muffins before when someone recommended them for a wedding cake. A muffin place for a wedding cake?! Who would have thought?! Oh was I surprised! Their cakes are delicious, affordable and so pretty! Of all my wedding vendors, they were by far the EASIEST to work with. Our cake was beautiful and so delicious! Our guests raved about it. I didn't even get to eat a piece of my wedding cake. We had no leftovers. When I told Magic Muffins that everyone loved the cake and that I didn't even get to have a whole piece, they gave me a free cake for our one month anniversary! The muffin tops were delicious! My favorites are the banana nut muffins and the carrot cake muffins. But we bought each flavor and all of them were good. You can't eat just one ! I also had a cheese and bacon biscuit. It was warm and fluffy and savory and so so good. I didn't take a pic of it, it was devoured right away. But there's always next time. I like the muffin tops, it's a nice change from the typical coffee and donuts. Although, they got the idea for this business from Seinfeld! J/k I will definitely be back for more. And if you're looking for more than breakfast treats, they also sell a variety of cold salads and casseroles. The best best best local bakery around! We have had their cake and cookies and both are quite magical. Magic Muffin did our absolutely gorgeous wedding cake exactly as we imagined it! They were amazing to work with and wonderful with communication. Everybody is still talking about the wedding cake a year later. We did strawberry for some layers and lemon for other layers. We sampled many of the cakes prior to choosing and they were all absolutely delicious. I'd say we were pretty picky cake pickers- theirs are moist, very genuine natural flavors, and their frosting was the perfect amount of sweet without hurting your teeth!If you haven't been you definitely should! We came in during quarantine for a slice of cake on our anniversary and because they were out they gave us cookies on the house! Such sweet people!! I will still come back here because the idea of getting a Magic Muffin after a trip to Publix across the street is truly exciting.
