I always think that it is easier to do one thing well than to do everything average. This place does it all well, and their menu is very simple. Order at the counter, let them know whether you are dining in or getting togo food. They give you a receipt with a number on it and you watch the display to see when your food comes up. The seatingvis mostly table shared bar counter. They have a variety of sauces/condiments to add to your noodle dish 9mce it is ready. You clean your own area when done and continue your journey through Chinatown. The Shrimp Rice Roll with scallions was perfect. The rice noodles were so fresh and the shrimp were super tender. Everyone looked so happy slurping and shoveling their noodles to fill their bellies. I would definitely return to try some of the other rice rolls.

O this is a wonderful addition to Chinatown! Yes to casual eateries, no pressure, just order and sit by yourself or grab a table for a group. I really like the set up. Communal long table or smaller tables for groups. Accommodating Diverse clientele, food for all! Dine in or takeout, they do it all. Can order in English or Chinese Wonton and noodle in chili oil (T6 on menu) was great. Flavorful and the wonton has roe inside it! Yay! I don't think I know another place that does this. Sauce bar choices available at the pickup counter Desserts black sesame (not on menu?) and soy milk available

A perfect spot to get a quick fix of cheung fun (rice rolls)! Located in SF Chinatown, it's right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Ordering your food is pretty streamlined: you order, take a number, and start scoping for seating. It gets pretty crowded, but people are always going in and out. I got the Rice Roll Express Special which comes with beef, pork, BBQ pork, and egg. SO GOOD! The rice paper is light and thin. The fillings are plentiful. The sauces completely elevated everything. Perfection! Portion sizes are pretty good too. Will definitely fill you up for breakfast or lunch.

A Chinatown classic, and a cheap eat in San Francisco. This is a no frills, fast-casual spot for East Asian breakfast or lunch. This was delicious and a highly recommended spot for good reason. Steamed rice rolls seem quite plain to the naked eye. They are plain, don't get me wrong, but it's the simplicity that makes it so good. The freshly steamed rice sheets are soft, pillowy, and slightly chewy. They're loaded with goodies of your choosing, like ground meat, shrimp, eggs, and chives.  The beauty of it is really in the sauce bar. Some sweet soy, peanut sauce, and chili oil make it a savory, creamy, and spicy bite. The chili oil is not necessarily spicy, but rather fragrant with flavors of fried garlic and shallots.  It is such a good start to your day as you explore Chinatown. Enjoy it with a side of warm, fresh soy milk and you're ready to have a good day. This spot is a perfect way to support one of the remaining Chinatowns of the US, and is a great way to experience traditional cuisine.

Finally got to try this place on my list. Tried their wonton soup with shrimp and crab roe. I liked the broth but the wonton itself was a tad salty. Also didn't really have shrimp. However the sauces when added to it cut through the saltiness and made it taste better. Order at the kiosk and pick up when your number is called. Will be back to try the crepes which they are known for.

Outrageously delicious! Lots of shared seating, dishes come out super fast. Come hungry, come full, just come! A little piece of Hong Kong or Canton right here in San Francisco, from food to ambiance!

Amazing spot for a quick lunch! We ordered from the counter and waited around 10-15 mins for our food to be ready. The rice rolls were made fresh, thin and generously filled. I also enjoyed the soy milk here and would always stop by to grab one even when I'm not eating there. Remember to bring cash when you visit or you can use venmo for payment.

Really affordable cheung fun. The rice wrapping is thin and pleasant. It's generally thinner than what you'd normally get at a dim sum place and has more layers to it. Spicy wontons are more of a warming heat than spicy heat. Wonton mein was nice too but definitely focus on their namesake! Took it togo since it was pretty packed on a weekday lunch hour

The food was heavenly. I got the rice crepe orders 1 and 2, and the rice paper was so soft. I enjoyed with some special sauce, sweet sauce, and chili sauce and every bite was remarkable. Service is self service, you get your own table, so I can't really control that nor give a fair evaluation. This is the spot where patience is needed because it was crowded and tables were filled. Ambiance was very crowded and had lots of customers, hole in the wall with minimal to zero external decoration because the food speaks for itself. 5 stars for the food!

I had to check this out with it appearing in my social media feeds. It was a soggy late afternoon so I did not face any line, just went up and ordered. It was a little chilly indoors when it was raining outside so just be forewarned if you plan to eat there as it's geared towards a very fast casual vibe. I liked the volume of the rice roll and the abundant sauce combinations. I chose a ground meat option and it was served piping hot. When I've had these at dim sum restaurants or bought cold from the Asian grocery store and I steam it myself, the sheet of rice is firmer on the one hand, on the other hand there's also less overall volume too. Overall I would like this if it were a cool day in SF and it was a lunch near me since it's quick and you can slurp it up. I was expecting a bowl of the sesame (bringing back memories of the dessert of mochi with black sesame in it, boiled in a soup)... I was a little surprised at the volume and consistency but when in Rome... it was thicker than a soup, just the right amount of sweetness, and I was getting full real fast after about half a cup. Service was fine too - the place was clean enough and the cashier was polite when I had trouble getting my venmo open to pay them. Overall? No bells and whistles but good taste and value for quick dining... cash or venmo / zelle only. Does the job without frills. they had a lot of meal delivery type orders being picked up by the moped guys so folks must know that's the secret when you can't be bothered to go out.

rice noodle with beef and bean sprouts
    Katie L.

Our friend brought us here saying it's one of his favorite breakfast spots! He recommended the beef and bean sprouts combo, so we copied his order- it was the right choice! The bean sprouts added the freshness and crunch! The noodles were so soft and thin, in a good way! And they have sauces on the side for you to customize, which we loved the peanut sauce most (but they're all good) We also thought it's so convenient that they use paper plates, easier for disposal! The restaurant itself is cute and quaint! Mostly communal seating, as the tables are large and connected, but that's very nice :)

I'm a huge fan of this place! It's very tasty and great value. We ordered 3 dishes between 2 people- we were definitely full for an affordable price. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the rice rolls - they nailed those down. I grew up eating rice rolls and eating here felt very familiar. I also really enjoyed the wontons in the chili oil. We ordered take out but the food quality or experience didn't diminish at all so I appreciate the consistency.

I found this place on Yelp and based on the reviews, I wanted to try it. The line was kinda short, but there were a lot of people. It was packed! But our food came out quicker than expected. I ordered the shrimp rice roll and he ordered the beef wonton soup with noodles? I think? There was a variety of sauces to add to your roll and I couldn't decide so I just used like three different ones, lol. It was delicious! Fresh and soft, but I wish the shrimp was bigger, I didn't have a lot of shrimp either, probably like 4 and 2 ended up on top. I think it's like a raved about spot because it felt like everyone there had their cameras and filming themselves eating lol. It has to be like TikTok famous or something. I wouldn't mind going back especially for the price! So affordable!

Once they started calling tables, it moved really fast. When we were seated, we ended up sharing a table with two other groups of two. I actually didn't mind it at all because there was still enough space between everyone to have privacy. It also made the experience feel more social -- I ended up chatting with the people to my right and left about the food. Everything we ordered was really good. Their popular dry fried chicken absolutely lived up to the hype and was probably my favorite thing on the menu... besides the cherry pork. I feel like nobody talks about the cherry pork enough! It was SO good -- kind of like a sweet-and-sour pork without the sour. I dipped it in soy sauce because I loved the sweet and salty combo together. The dumplings were also really good. The wrapper was thin and delicious, but my boyfriend said he wished they had a little more protein filling and less leek. The green beans are always a hit. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again was the black bean sauce noodles. Maybe I just expected a different flavor, but to me they honestly tasted like regular lo mein. I'm also not a huge noodle person in general, so I'd probably skip them next time and order something else instead. Forgot to mention their prices are on point! Definitely recommend to any of the tourists. I think the weight is definitely worth it and I love being able to take home my leftovers and eating them for lunch and dinner the next day.

"Everything!" That's all one needs to say. At the entrance, clearly marked are signs reading, "Reservations" and "Walk-ins". Since we had reservations, we waited only a few minutes to get seated at the bar. The bar makes it easy to converse with your partner and to peer over as the fire from the range springs up from the kitchen. Our server brought us some "Free Bites" of roasted peanuts and smashed cucumbers. She was such a pleasant lady with quite the wit that made me laugh between courses. We ordered a full bottle of Negori sake. Note: if you do not finish the sake bottle, they cannot pack it to go for you, so drink up! Obviously, we couldn't order everything on the menu. For our first visit, we definitely wanted their special dish, Fried Squab. It was delicious! The meat was moist and the dipping salt with Sichuan peppercorn paired perfectly! Just don't focus too much on the visual... the head and claws. Hot Mustard Jellyfish Salad ~ I loved the "crunch" of the jellyfish and the hot mustard marinade was just spicy enough to start a slow burn up the nose. Beef Chow Fun Noodles ~ Delicious and so very savory. I was amazed at how flavorful this dish was without being salty. Clay Pot Rice w/Chinese Sausage & Bacon ~ Loved how the entire pot was seasoned nicely. The sauce did not only sit at the top, but penetrated deep down into the rice. XO Escargot w/Milkbread ~ I've only had French Escargot and these are just as good, if not better! Fish Fragrant Eggplant ~ Another savory and very umami dish. Red Bean Shaved Ice ~ Always a refreshing dessert. Dig in for the surprise in the center. We had such a nice, cozy dinner here. Even while at the bar, we never felt for lack of space. They paced the dishes out perfectly, so there was always room to eat and enjoy. Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately.
