And there's an area I'm the back of this bar that has a table.with chairs that's just taken space. Also the bartender need to know the basics. And the night I walked in the bartender said I needed a break and messed up all of my orders along with my friends and still charged us a ridiculous amount for some poorly mad drinks and not monitored the people who had enough. They need to learn how to cut people off and also removing some of those old machines in that bar.

That might not sound like the ideal setup, but the two young ladies working there certainly didn't let it get in the way of providing a great experience. Both were exceptionally friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely happy to take care of us. I somewhat hesitantly asked whether they could make a pineapple milkshake. This was a deal breaker at Cold Stone when they looked at me like I was crazy for asking--I've never been back. Here, though, there was a brief "Hmm..." moment before one of the young ladies said, "We don't have a pineapple shake on the menu, but we certainly could add fresh pineapple to our vanilla ice cream." Sold! The result was an excellent fresh-pineapple milkshake--and exactly the kind of little bit of creativity and customer service that makes a stop memorable. It tasted so good on a hot day! The temporary location is actually quite pleasant, sitting alongside a beautiful park near Hanford's civic auditorium, with shaded outdoor seating where you can enjoy your ice cream. There's some interesting history right there as well: The distinctive building behind the stand is the old Kings County jail, known locally as "The Bastille." And then there's the ice cream itself. The temporary operation may mean simple surroundings and very plain serving cups, but don't let appearances fool you. The cups are plain, but the taste is not. My only regret is that I didn't try the fresh peach. Based on that pineapple milkshake, I have a feeling I missed something pretty special. Superior Dairy was a fun, friendly, unexpected stop on the trip home--and one I'd happily make again.

At first I thought it seemed like a pretty cool place since they do have decent food and many of the employees are nice people. But, I had some bad experiences with their management, who don't seem to understand what customer service is. Especially the manager, who's lady in her 40's or 50's. The simple task of paying my bill turned my last pleasant evening there into a complete nightmare for me and my family. This manager copped an attitude with me over the bill, which was obviously written by somebody else altogether. But, I ended up finding myself being screamed at for it in front of my wife and kids. I had to look around and do a double take because I thought someone had pulled out a space age remote control and changed the channel until I realized this woman simply wasn't playing with a full deck of cards. To throw even more gas on the fire, you can't understand half of what she says. So, without my saying a word aside from "huh", she started making me feel stupid because I couldn't understand her broken english. One of the level headed employees finally got it straightened out. If it was just me, I'd brush it off. But, I had my family with me so I wasn't pleased at all. And I've talked to some other people who used to go there all the time, and came to find out they stopped going there for similar reasons. One of them had his date with him just a few weeks ago, and this same manager berated him in front of his date and all the other customers while placing his order because he was hard of hearing. That was his last time there. And he's as patient and professional as anybody I know. I've heard other people share bad experiences they had there. But, once he told me about his incident, that did it for me. So, I stopped going there too. I've heard this site is a great thing, and figured I'd better explain why I'm embarrassed to bring anybody I know to this restaurant for a pleasant night out. The Rice Bowl is definitely not in the same category it by Far surpasses Fast Food . The Rice Bowl is a DINING Experience at Fast Food prices. Me and My Family Had a Very Nice Dining Experience at The Rice Bowl and Shall Continue to do So. I Enjoy The Service Provided by Hostess and Staff , The Food Is Great a Wonderful Variety . Our Favorites being their Shrimp in Lobster sauce or Lobster with Butter and Garlic. They Provide a variety of Vegetarian Dishes as well. The Hot Green Tea and/or Egg flower soup is The BEST on a Chilly day. Don't have time to Greet your Hostess or wait to be seated. Polite, Patient, Considerate, Respectful at least of Self. All of these can be summed up in One Word MANNERS. Some of Us can Stand to Learn them. Others learn by OUR Example (peers or Children). Let me tell you, folks, I've had a lot of Chinese food in my life, all over the place, but nothing--nothing--compares to this. The Rice Bowl? Absolutely incredible. The Lo Mein? Perfect. Nobody does Lo Mein like this, believe me. Now, let me share a story. A friend of mine, great guy, he says, "Let's go grab some food," just a regular outing, right? We stop here, and let me tell you, it turned into the greatest day ever. We're sitting there, the food comes out, and it's like a celebration. My wife and I have enjoyed dinning at The Rice Bowl for several years now. Whether we dine in or take-out, we enjoy the food, the staff is friendly and we are made to feel welcome. The atmosphere never fails to be peaceful and relaxing. Just as important to us as the good food, the place is always very clean! We love that The owner, occasionally stops by our table to chat with us when she see spots us at our favorite table. She is both funny and caring. Big disappointment. Had planned a get together for three friends and myself for lunar new year. When they brought the plates, they served two of the four of us, while the other two of us sat there for a while. They finally came up to me and said that they didn't have my order right and they would fix it and it would only take about 10 minutes. I said I didn't want to wait 10 minutes. So I told them to just throw some rice, vegetables and chicken on a plate and that's what they did. The taste was bland. One friend ordered a Sprite, which never came. I found this little jewel about a year ago. I travel through out Calif, Nevada and Oregon and have not found an authentic old school Chinese food restaurant like this one. Believe what you read, if its true. This pubic hair is the oldest scam in the world. Get a life people. This is the cleanest restaurant around and the food is outstanding. USED BAND AID ON TAKE OUT FOOD today i bought beef fried rice for me & my son ,i took home was eating hulf way i found a band aid,i got so discusted,i called the rice bowl & told them what happend,im really worry about my son & me cause we both ate it,i went to the doctor & we might be ok,so we came home i wa very discusted.the emplyee had a cut & she had the band aid they send me pic showing that its all healed up. but still back of my mind i will still be worried read more

We just had dinner at the Rice Bowl. It was as usual the best in Hanford. My family has been eating this food for generations. If you haven't eaten this great food you need to soon. The target customer demographic in this area isn't generally Asian, so we tempered our expectations before dining here. We were impressed by the extensive menu offerings and after some deliberation, we settled on the Dinner for Two which started with a Won Ton Soup and fried shrimp and pot stickers as appetizers. The entree included sizzling rice wor bar, Peking pork and pork fried rice (we substituted for pork chow mein). The restaurant was very traditional in closing the meal out with fortune cookies. Our favorite due to its flavor was the Peking pork, and we also enjoyed the fried shrimp, pot stickers and sizzling rice wor bar. The only misses were the Won Ton Soup (we felt the flavor of the broth was not quite right) and the pork chow mein (it arrived lukewarm and lacking in flavor but it was an improvement after dousing it in chili sauce). Chinese Kitchen doesn't appear to be located in the best neighborhood, but it is easy to tell that this establishment has been around for quite some time. The best part of our dining experience was the service. Our greeter and server welcomed us, took our order and checked in on us multiple times. We also had the opportunity to chat with the owner and she is very welcoming and helpful. If you're in Visalia and have a craving for Chinese cuisine, Chinese Kitchen is as good an option as any!

We also ordered a bowl, it was filling and good. Lots of chicken . Our favorite part was the ube cookie, so moist. We could have easily ate a half dozen of those bad boys! It was his favorite Chinese restaurant when he lived in Visalia. I had not been in many years, so I went with him for dinner one evening, and it was good. Not my favorite in this area, but good. The food was really solid. Very delicious, excellent food. We ordered family style, so we got great portions. However, the service when we went was very slow and definitely lacking. We knew exactly what we wanted within about a minute of sitting down, so we did the typical set the menus aside and fold our hands to signal the server that we were ready to order. It took more than 10 minutes before we were able to finally get a waitress to take our order. Not that there weren't waitresses there, they just kept walking by and saying someone else would get back to us to take our order. Our appetizer arrived 25 minutes after we arrived. Yes, it was so noticeable, I WAS paying attention to the times. We started off with the fried chicken wings, spring rolls, and tempura scromp-scromps. They were all good. Again, not my favorite in Visalia, but still quite good. A few minutes later, we got the Beef & Egg flower soup. Now, I love me some egg flour, soup, but then you go and throw some meat in it? Next level. That was definitely better than other Chinese restaurants in Visalia. Our main dishes started arriving at 31 minutes. We got the Orange Chicken, Honey Walnut Scromp-scromps, and Beef with Broccoli. These were all very delicious arguably as good or close to my favorite Chinese restaurants in town. The restaurant was relatively busy when I was there, so I didn't take any inside pics, but the inside is nice. The restaurant seemed clean and the prices were reasonable. It was really the service that we had issue with, and found lacking. It could've been a isolated event, I don't know. Even my brother was disappointed.
