Tonkatsu Purple Rice Roll
Tina T.

This spot has such cute decor inside. Theres paid metered parking outside and I had to wait about 10 mins for my order. I got the Tonkatsu Purple Rice Roll. The size seems a bit small but it was filling. I wish it was longer and skinner instead of short and wide bet it was very hard and unpleasant to eat. I was struggling taking the bites without making a mess on my face. The flavors were well balanced and good, there was a good amount of pork in it.

Mango Smoothie and a Taro Milk Tea with Aloe
Ryan B.

A very enlightening aesthetic. Immediate and considerate service. The items the wife and I ordered were a Taro Milk Tea with Aloe and a Mango Smoothie. I appreciated the transparency from the server that the location had run out of Boba thus they would not charge me for the Aloe I added to my drink as it served as a substitute. The drinks themselves were very rich and full of flavor and substance. My Taro Milk Tea was creamy and not too overpowering. The wife's Mango smoothie was a split of sweet and sour which as refreshing and something unique. What was also appreciated was how staff brought us our drinks where we were seated, another rarity that stood out and solidified their presence as a solid location. More people should come here. They deserve the spotlight. 5/5

If you love Asian fusion food and this is the spot which is kind of like a sushi burrito but with Taiwanese style and it's very comforting and I really do love it because they use purple rice. The purple rice actually helps with your blood sugar and doesn't rise up with sugar level and it does increase it but slowly. It is a healthier rice option which is the purple rice compared to regular rice. . For the Asian burrito I tried different variation where there was a teriyaki chicken stuff inside which is really good because the chicken is grilled and I do love the teriyaki sauce but it does get really wet and messy when you're eating it. Also the teriyaki sauce really makes the seaweed soggy on the outside so just a note and warning. . They also have another variation with Spam and I really do like that because it comes with pork floss and it's a little bit on the dryer version so I do like it less messy and the Very good textures. It also has egg inside and I really do love a soft scramble which is so good. . They also have your other snacks like popcorn chicken to cream cheese wontons as well they do have fresh fruit juice and boba drinks as well. They also have a teriyaki chicken plate with purple rice and a salad and some pickled cucumber which is really good and if you don't like a sushi Form they have it in a plate form which I really like. . They are located on a busy street and with limited parking but there is street parking where you can park. I always order it to go on doordash or just on their app and then just quickly Park and get off and pick up. . Overall it is a solid spot for a quick pickup and if you love trying new things this is a spot to go try. Hope this helps and thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day.

The vibe inside is cute and customer service is friendly but I think this place needs a quick overhaul because something is just not there yet. The drinks took way longer than they should to make and didn't taste quite as good. Kind of as expected for an average boba spot but the tea tasted very bitter. There are atleast a dozen better boba spots I could go to nearby. Would really want to try their food one day but can't justify stopping by with these prices and quality. Maybe in the near future if they have improved and are still here.

First time here

So we went to Rice bites on November 16th roughly around 4:00 p.m. on a Sunday. We were starving after doing a Pokemon go event and wanted to try out a new place in the Sacramento downtown area. Rice bites came up as a new and hot business and I told my friend let's try it out. We both are always on the lookout for new bubble tea spots and places that have snacks. When we entered we were greeted very warmly by the individual behind the cash register. She asked if it was our first time and we said yes. She continued by giving us recommendations on what is the most popular dish and she also Davis recommendation of which snacks to try out considering that we said we were both hungry. We ended up getting the following drinks: brown sugar boba and kumquat and lemon tea, and as snacks we got the classic purple roll and the popcorn chicken. As we waited for our order to be completed we sat in the cute little space next to the wall that had a tree on the side of it. Looking around and listening to the soft music in the background was really nice. The calm environment when it was a little rainy outside made it feel very comforting. We did both gush over the cute little purple plushie that was by the tree and definitely had a little photo shoot moment with it next to our drinks. The drinks themselves, my friend really liked his kumquat drink because he said the freshness of the lemons was really coming through and enhance the kumquat flavor. Not overly sweet and he really enjoyed again how fresh it was. For myself my brown sugar drink was perfectly balanced. I was really pleased that the boba had a little bit of a bite to it. Again that is preference for myself I'm a person that likes Al dente pasta so again my boba I like a little bit of a bite to it so that I can really chew on them. Hands down for us we really enjoyed the popcorn chicken. It was steaming hot, extremely flavorful, and the crunchiness of the breading was perfection. We would definitely go back and have that. The purple roll we really enjoyed the one thing is we definitely wanted to have some kind of sauce to either pour over it or a little bit of a spread inside of it it felt like it was missing a little bit of heat for both of our pallets. Again though my friend and I enjoy spicy so again if you don't want that and don't need it still an amazing snack to have. Would definitely go back to try the rest of the menu that they have.

Wow! What a nice take on sushi burrito. I had the tonkatsu burrito 9/10. It was full of flavor but it had a little bit too much mayo. Additionally I had the teriyaki burrito 9/10! I loved how the purple rice really complimented the meat. It was a lot bigger than imagined and filled me up.

Fresh Pineapple Green Tea + Crystal Boba~ My hubby loved his fruity drink, made with fresh pineapple!

We were looking to kill sometime before our paid parking limit ended and thought why not get some boba. We ordered a Fresh Pineapple Green Tea with Crystal Boba and Tiger Brown Sugar Boba. My hubby loved his fruity drink, made with fresh pineapple! The tiger was nice and warm, the perfect boba texture that I love, very flavorful and VERY sweet! Next time I'll go with half the sweetness, but shaking it helps distribute the flavors some! Before leaving hubby decided to get a Tonkotsu Purple Rice Roll. He took his Chinese rice roll to work, so I didn't get to unwrap it, but he said it was amazing! This adorable small business opened just this year! I love their decor and indoor seating area, sweet staff too that gave our toddler stickers! If you collect Labubu they even have some fancy outfits and accessories for sale! We'll be back, so I can try finally try a purple rice roll! Masubi looks good too! SYOY! :D

I am such a big fan of this place. The staff are sweet and patient and while tiny, the place is cute and decorated. I can't think of another place in Sacramento that has these Taiwanese Purple Rice Rolls. I love all the different textures and flavors and am so happy people are embracing such a unique and different food! I have also tried the cream cheese wontons, which were standard and yummy, and the strawberry matcha latte. Wow, this was so impressive. They use real strawberries, ha, what a novelty, and the drink was so well balanced. I don't think it had the best matcha quality, but it still paired really well. Can't wait to go back!

3.5/5 Came here for a quick lunch that is near work. Location is easy to locate, near a few popular restaurants in downtown. Business doesn't open doors until 11am, so its great for the lunch rush. The shop is cozy and cute, which purple/lavender decor with some blind boxes available for purchase. There's a nice bench area for waiting, and a few tables for dine in. You have the choice to order from the kiosk or register, I chose the kiosk since I will be taking some time to look through the menu. First glance of the menu, it was limited not much options just rice rolls and drinks (note: I visited the business when it barely opened for business like a month or so in, so menu was not as developed as it is now). I decided to just order: Togo - Tonkatsu pork rice roll with extra diakon, cucumbers and sauce. They also offer vegetarian option, which is great if I just want a lighter lunch. I didn't get any of their drinks. Overall, the rice roll was good. I would get it again for a quick lunch. It might look small but it really fulfilling since it fill with rice. I think the request to add extra diakons, cucumbers and sauce really help with the overall flavors. If I didn't, it might have been a little dry to my liking because the daikon and cucumbers add additional freshness to the roll and the extra sauce made it less dry, in my option. If you are looking for a quick bite for lunch and want to try something new, check out Rice Bites for their rice roll. It's different than the normal food options in the area like pizza, burrito, or salad.

I was looking through the list of hot and new restaurants on Yelp and came across this new establishment! I was so excited to see a new restaurant serving Taiwanese style rice roll! And as a vegetarian, I was even more excited to see they offered a vegetarian option of their rice roll! I stopped by on a weekday during lunch time. There was plenty of street parking when we arrived. The restaurant was quiet, clean and well decorated. Staff were extremely friendly! I ordered their vegetable purple rice roll to go. Although it didn't contain the typical Taiwanese rice roll ingredients, I decided to give it a try anyway! The food came out quickly and item was nicely packaged. My vegetable rice roll contained avocado, carrot, lettuce, cucumber, and pickled radish, but was missing the crispy dough. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that my rice roll was missing a key ingredient until we had left the restaurant. The rice roll was still good but tasted like more of a salad wrapped in purple rice. It was definitely very different than a typical Taiwanese rice roll and reminded me of a sushirrito. Would recommend having napkins nearby as the filling is super saucy! Would love to see a vegetarian version of the classic Taiwanese rice roll with mock pork floss added to their menu in the future!

wonderful experience! First and foremost, the staff is wonderful!! So kind and helpful. They just opened recently, so there are limited options, however they said they're working on more! I got a vegetarian burrito and the purple rice is so delicious! Such a good meal for lunch at work. I also got a strawberry matcha and it was divine! I highly recommended stopping by. The decor inside is super cute as well. They have Labubu outfits for sale as well. So if you're into those, definitely stop by.

This past weekend we had the chance to check out a fairly new boba shop in the downtown/midtown area. I've driven by here a couple a times and decided it was time to check it out. The staff in general are all very helpful and overall very friendly. They helped us decided on what to get and even let us sample some of their food ingredients. All their fruit drinks are made to order with fresh fruits muddled behind the counter. Both of our drinks were very fresh tasting and delicious. We didn't get a chance to order off the food menu but did get to try the chicken floss. They do have a variety of different rice based eats which we're gonna have to come back and try. They have plenty seats in their store and a wall to take some flicks with friends or family. Again everyone working in there is very nice which is always great to have. Hope to be back soon!

Passion Fruit Tea
Sara W.

It's a cute little spot! I ordered online and got their tonkatsu purple rice role and the passion fruit tea. The tea was so good! It was nice and light and refreshing. Great on these hot summer days in sac. I felt like the role was good. I wish there was a better ratio of rice to stuffings. I didn't feel like there was a ton of other stuff in it, but it was yummy! The service was really quick and nice! I ordered online which was great. I recommend stopping by! There isn't much seating on the inside so it's a good option for a grab and go.

So earlier this year I got introduced to this place thru a Yelp Elite experience and needless to…read moresay that visit really blew me away. Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. PS-Parking could be a bit of a challenge as they share a lot with an auto shop but all of my visits I was able to secure a spot-I am sure you will as wel

Kado Asian Fusion has been on my list to try for a while. I've been following them on social media…read moreand have read the reviews on Yelp and was so excited to finally try it out. The restaurant is super cute and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and shaded which is perfect for warmer Sacramento months. They have a variety of menu items including a build your own bowl opton, tacos, nachos, sandwiches, loaded fries, musubi and an udon special. I ended up ordering the Umami Udon with special chicken as my protein ($13.50), a Build Your Own Bowl with fried rice, katsu chicken, the triple katsu sauce, and stir fried veggies with "The Works" ($16.50), and Musubi ($8.75). The staff was super friendly and helped me make some decisions for my order and recommended the umami udon special, which I'm so happy about. The food was made fresh and took a little bit, but was packed with care and was nice and hot. I took it home to enjoy and the food was still hot and the portion sizes were really generous. The Umami Udon was amazing, it had perfectly cooked udon noodles that had a great chew in a creamy teriyaki sauce with smokey bacon, mushrooms, onions and garlic. It was a great mix of sweet and savory and lived up to it's umami name. I would order this again and again, it was so good. The Build Your Own bowl was also delicious and I can see why the chicken katsu is a customer favorite. The veggies were fresh and the fried rice was really flavorful. The Spam Musubi had thick slices of spam with a nice marinade and came with sauces for dipping. I'll definitely be back again soon, and while I want to explore more of the menu the umami udon is happening again!

Kado Asian Fusion is located on Broadway and cater to the lunch/dinner crowds. They are open from 12-8pm every day except Sundays. The inside was clean and had a decent amount of tables. We ordered at the counter and then sat at a table while we waited for our food to go. They offer bowls, tacos, nachos, rolls and sandwiches! I don't always know what to order at new places - so I liked that they had signs for specials as well as "favorites." We ordered the Rice with Teriyaki Chicken, Oliver's Favorite which was Spam Musubi and Spam and Bacon Fried Rice and Mom and Dad's Forbidden Feast. Everything looked and tasted really good! Obviously, it would have been much better had we actually eaten in the restaurant, but still no complaints once we got it home. Spam Musubi is one of my favorite things to eat so I could have downed like 5 of them! Portions were huge too - they even have a 100 year old teriyaki recipe! Overall, I would definitely come back and try other items! Staff were also very friendly, personable and gave great recommendations! Check them out!

That makes sense to why the drinks were quite stiff. I understand why many of the older guests chose to sit outside on the patio, where it was much quieter. Danielle was wonderful. Even though she was handling a large party, she remained attentive and checked on us regularly. Food-wise, it fell short for my Asian taste buds, which tend to prefer bolder and more layered flavors. For starters, we had the tartare, which was enjoyable and very flavorful. For the main entrées, we had the beef carpaccio, but it unfortunately missed the mark. The vegetables on top were visually appealing, but flavor-wise it lacked depth. It needed extra mint or perhaps to be wrapped in a sesame leaf to give it more bite and contrast. Next, we tried the lion meatball with veggie fried rice. The meatball was dry and had a grainy texture. It needed more fat in the blend for better richness. Pairing it with a baguette or even a savory donut stick would have added a nice contrast in texture and flavor. I'm usually not a fried rice person, but I kept eating it because it was the only dish I genuinely enjoyed and found well-seasoned. It wasn't the traditional wok-hei style fried rice; instead, it tasted fresher and lighter. I understand and appreciate the direction of the flavors and dishes, as they seem intentionally designed to be more subtle, calming, and approachable for American palates. However, from my perspective and personal preference as someone who enjoys stronger Asian flavors, it lacked the "wow" factor I was hoping for.

All the ceramic plates had deep chips, they used plastic ramekins, served the fatty meat used for flavoring pho as roast beef, and the minuscule happy hour portions (I'm looking at you single spring roll cut in half with a squiggle of sauce!!!). So glad they opened a Seapot in Sac so I can get my fix without going to the Bay Area now :) Came on a Saturday at 6pm for a party of 2 noting 30min wait on the Yelp waitlist but actually no one was waiting much in the front when we got in to checkin and we got seated right away (maybe people starting to add names to the waitlist for 7pm!). Opted for hotpot only which is imo my go-to here, but appreciate that the sauce/salad bar has some Chinese sides / Korean banchan to cut through the meat (e.g. seaweed salad, pickled radish, korean fishcake, pretty good cold marinated pigs ears). Fried sides at the bar such as the eggrolls we skipped after 1x bc they were quite soggy. I've been to basically all the norcal Seapot locations now, this one and San Mateo are probably my go-to based on the fact they both have the best soup selection. My partner likes the tomato broth and I like creamy milk (sweet, savory, w some corn), which is unfortunately not on the menu of the Daly City location. In terms of meats, we usually just keep a steady flow of beef (Angus, Wagyu, Ribeye, Brisket) coming and enjoy all of them. Our waiter was very attentive, worked a lot of tables and we never had to ask for more soda refills or meat orders. As we ate, the restaurant got more crowded for the 7pm weekend dinner rush so we watched waves of ppl starting to line up at the sauce/salad bar after initially being seated so we would wait for these to die down before walking up there. Meat took a little bit more time to come out when it got more busy after we ordered with our waiter, but was a steady flow as we ate. If you come with a 4+ people, it's most fun to sit close to the conveyor in the booth to have best access to the hotpot sides. Depending on where you are seated on the conveyor, you might need to wait for certain seafood or noodle sides longer than others. But luckily the meat comes separately to your table, which is the star of the show anyways. Overall love Seapot and it is a nice addition to Sac esp during the cold season!

Just went here for the first time on a first date and have had this place on my saved list for…read moreforever. The food here was absolutely delicious. We ordered: Appetizers: Mixed Tempura 8/10 - wish it was a smidge flakier Grilled Squid 1000/10 - might just come back alone for this. Absolute perfection, no notes Mains: 18 piece Sashimi 10/10 - large slices, scallops were definitely the start- tho no higher rating due to no description on what was being served and slightly inconvenient design even though the presentation was pretty. Double Toro roll 8/10 - my date loved it, I'm just not a big roll fan Spicy scallop hand roll 9/10 - super delicious, scallops were fresh Unagi hand roll - 10/10 - I didn't even get to try it, my date loved it Tuna maki roll - 10/10 - simple, delicious We will definitely be coming back. I will say my only note is that we ordered the appetizers first and actually waited to order our mains in hopes that the appetizers would come out first. Instead my mains came out before the appetizers and then my dates came after the appetizers came out. Everything was delicious but I hope that isn't a common habit as it made the meal feel a bit rushed and the waitresses were commenting about how much we ordered and if we could eat it all... everyone was very nice though. A little cold in the actual restaurant but makes sense to keep the fish cold.
