I have been hearing about this cafe since I moved back to the DMV 3 years ago and finally made it…read morethere for lunch. What a delight! We had the labne with charred corn and pita chips to start and it was divine. The pita chips are so fresh and the herbs and spices on the charred corn delicious with the creamy, slightly salty labne. I opted for the steak pita and my son had the lamb shoulder pita. Both were excellent- a savory blend of beautifully grilled meat, fresh veggies and herbs and pickled treats. They are also quite filling. I would Have loved to try a baked treat or the soft serve, but I was just too full. The line got a little long around noon, but everyone is very friendly and efficient so it wasn't onerous. We managed to snag a table right at the window which was marvelous- people watching and yummy lunch. I also had a peanut dalgona iced coffee - creamy, slightly sweet and yet refreshing. I think you can't miss with anything you order here.

Sadly downgrading the experience at Yellow Georgetown to three stars…read more My wife and I visited on a recent Saturday and had a good but not great lunch. We expected a line at the popular cafe, but we did not expect the space to be so packed to the gills with patrons hovering like vultures for tables to open up and/or waiting for food. We got lucky in that we obtained a slightly tucked away corner booth without much fuss, though the seating situation can get dire even with a fully open patio. The highlight of our lunch was the dips, both the seasonal green tomato hummus and the charred corn labneh excelled. The base hummus here is silky and rich, and we dug the complimentary topping of sour pickled green tomatoes and chilis. Similarly, the creamy and tangy labneh worked very well with sweet charred corn and briney feta. The $2 upgrade to wood fired pita, to me, is non negotiable and the fluffy zaatar slicked rounds are good enough to eat on their own. The meal stumbled significantly with the pita sandwiches. At the other location, we experience sit down restaurant quality stuffed pitas with perfectly cooked and proportioned ingredients. Here, the construction was sloppy. My lamb cheesesteak, for example, had all the meat piled on the top with all the sauce and veggies on the bottom, rather than each bite offering the balanced flavors and textures we have encountered previously. It didn't help that the lamb meat itself had a dry texture and lacked seasoning. My wife's chicken pita fared similarly, with all the sauce and vegetables on the bottom and the heavier ingredients like chicken and tater tots on top. The chicken in her pita also was overcooked and lacked the distinct amba punch we tried prior. At $20+ a pop and with the Rafidi pedigree, I expect a better constructed sandwich than what I received. Additionally, having to eat the meal in such crowded surrounds doesn't help. Overall, I think this specific location attracts too much business for adequate quality control at the price point. The dips and bread remain stellar, but for the full meal experience consider going during weekday off hours or heading to Union Market for a tighter experience.

I told my friend not to be scared of the jam, and she ended up pleasantly surprised. If it's still on the menu, get it before tomato season wraps up. My friend got the soupe à l'oignon and really enjoyed it. We finished by splitting the profiteroles, a solid way to end the meal. This place keeps proving why it's a favorite. Highly recommend.

Cute long and thin restaurant with a gorgeous bar and view into part of the kitchen. It felt relaxed even though they had a good crowd. Attentive, friendly service from our waiter. My eggs benedict satisfied me - prepared just right. The accompanying salad: I always love French salads- they always seem dressed just right and appear so lightly and intentionally constructed. I also ordered the pain perdue French toast. It was light, crisp, tart from the orange and sweet. A very nice accompaniment to the eggs benedict. Wife wasn't feeling the best and so her ordering decision: French onion soup and the pate maison didn't end up being a good decision for her although I tried the pate and enjoyed it. Enjoyable meal.
