Ribbee's is a spin-off of Goldee's. I think I prefer beef ribs over pork ribs so that's probably why I thought the ribs I got at Ribbee's was just ok. Although the sauce is awesome! It would go great with some beef ribs. I was enjoying cleaning up the sauce with my roll I think next time I will get the beef.

The portions here are CRAZY BIG!! I highly recommend getting the combo. I got the hot honey ribs and they were great. Super tender. You don't really taste the honey though, it kind of just taste like tangy BBQ sauce. Staff is super nice and there is seating inside. We didn't have to wait at all on a weekend. Great spot to try out for ribs!!

The Beef Ribs were amazing, the fries were hands down the greatest especially with that amazing seasoning, the roll was a little on the hard side but other than that it was a great experience for our first time! service was great, although you need to know what you want even if it's your first time The menu is pretty explainable, the place was super clean, the music was relaxing oldies! Nice Combo!

Ribbee's is undeniably the best place to get delicious pork ribs in town. We always get a full rack of ribs and an order of their perfectly crispy French fries when we go. These ribs are delicious. The ribs are tender and smoky. They are incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned and charred. Their firm dedication is strikingly obvious. Refinement of their craft is a meaningful priority for all of them. The fries are extraordinarily golden and crisp. Many examples show this texture. They perfectly complement the main star. Ribbee's is a great choice for rib enthusiasts; otherwise, you'll miss a fantastic meal. You absolutely have to visit this place!

Ever been smacked in the mouth by a flying pig dressed like a bee, dripping in hot honey, and screaming "You're welcome"? No? Then buckle up, sugarplum, you've clearly never had lunch at Ribbee's. TL;DR Rib tips buzzing with heat. Sauce that sings soprano. Butter rolls straight from Grandma's dreams. Salt-happy fries, but they mean well. Served with charm, swagger, and enough meat to make your belt cry for mercy. It was Wednesday. My inbox was full, but my stomach was emptier than a church parking lot during a Cowboys game. I answered the higher calling and left work in search of salvation by smoke. Destination: Ribbee's. The rib-slinging, sauce-dripping brainchild of the Goldee's crew. This was a joyride. A rib tip revival. A pitstop of purpose. When I walked in at 12:30, the place was whisper-quiet. Just me and two other disciples of the 'cue. The checkerboard floor gleamed like a honky tonk dance floor, and that bee-pig mascot on the wall winked at me like it knew I was about to make a scene. Justin greeted me like we were cousins at a family reunion. Big smile. Big energy. He took my order with the kind of confidence that says, "You're about to eat something special." I went with the rib tip combo. Hot honey sauce. That's the flavor that says "I love you" and "hold onto your napkin" at the same time. Now let's talk plate anatomy: * The Rib Tips: Sticky, spicy, and juicy like a late-night gossip session. That bark snapped, the meat surrendered, and the flavor did a full body slam on my taste buds. * The Roll: Honey buttered and baked with intention. It deserved a slow dance. * The Fries: Seasoned like a sailor with a salt shaker. A little aggressive, but hey, it's Texas. * The Pickle: There. Doing its job. Not trying to steal the spotlight. I didn't try the banana pudding because my wife wasn't with me. She's the Side Dish Queen and has a sixth sense for sniffing out pudding potential. If I'd tried it without her, I'd be sleeping in the truck. Portion size? Imagine your grandma telling you she made "a little snack" and then handing you a platter that could feed a marching band. That's Ribbee's. Ribbee's delivers flavor with flair and ribs with rhythm. It's quick enough for a lunch break and tasty enough to make you consider quitting your job to come back for dinner.

Food was great! Ribs were flavorful and tender and the crinkle fries were cooked to perfection.

So this place is from the same owner as Goldee's, which has been on my BBQ bucket list. I hear Goldee's line is insane--like, show up at the crack of dawn and wait 4 hours kind of insane. But today was NOT that day. Instead, we hit up this newer spot in a renovated Sonic, and here's the kicker: they ONLY serve ribs. Five kinds of pork ribs and one beef rib. The combo plates (all around $22) come with addictive crinkle fries with salt AND sugar seasoning, a hidden roll (under the paper, like a surprise carb), and a pickle. Oh, and free Busch beers from a cooler in the dining room! I was pretty impressed, especially since beef ribs are usually $30+ per pound. Now, the bathroom? It's around the corner, bright pink, and gives off weird "someone could lock you in" vibes, but you'll see for yourself. A few things: I'd love if they handed out forks instead of making you ask, and wet naps wouldn't hurt either. But those fries? Sweet, savory, and perfect without ketchup--though my husband slathered them in it like he was born to. Definitely worth the visit if you're craving a no-frills rib feast!

Coming from the owners of Goldees, I expected a lot from this place. Fortunately they mostly delivered. First off, the staff is super friendly and absolutely makes sure you are happy and have everything you need, so great customer service. Second, the value. They offered only one combo for $20, which included four thick ribs with 2 flavors, a yeast bun, a pickle spear and seasoned fries. I chose Golden and Korean BBQ, both of which tasted great. The ribs had a nice smoke ring and good smokey flavor, so taste-wisw they were great. For me they were a little overcooked (fall-oof-the-bone to almost mushy). I know many people like it that way, so no knock on them. I just like them a little more pull-off-the-bone. But hey, it's mostly the flavor that counts. Last but not least, free beer! Yes, you read that right. They have a fridge with free beer. Nothing fancy, but again, it's FREE BEER! So, if you like ribs, and dont want to drive further South and stand in line at Goldees, try them out!

As a devout BBQ lover (TX, KC, NC) and a Big Green Egg guy - my review is a bit more in depth. Overall if you need a rib fix, this place is good. The ribs themselves are smoked relatively well but I found myself thinking they let the rub sit on the ribs for a bit too long or the rub has too much salt, as the pork had a slightly cured taste. Not BAD per se but not my ideal rib flavor. The smoke level was decent, but I don't think it had the depth of other BBQ joints. The sauce itself was good but very thick, (original) leading me to believe it had a lot of sugar. The fries were good, the seasoning I liked. It had some sugar. Pudding was basically $2 for what tasted like boxed pudding with no banana. Roll was very mid. Service was good, friendly. Atmosphere was laid back, TVs on for the games. Overall I'd say if the rub was toned down on the salt a bit more, better smoke, pudding had actual banana, they could go to the full 5. Overall a good spot.

It is located in an old drive in restaurant. We arrived at the height of lunch time on a Saturday and were the only ones there. We usually take this as a sign, but we pushed on. Walking in you could smell the smoke. Ordered the half rack, baby ribs, and they were really good. I didn't think they had that much of a smoke flavor, but my wife felt like they did. Overall really good ribs, very juicy, tender but still held on that bone - just how we like it. And the Goldie sauce was the best. Skip that wannabe banana pudding, because it's anything but banana with hints of cinnamon.. who doesn't put bananas in banana pudding??!!

Dry rub pork ribs with crinkle fries and pickle.
    Stacy L.

Ribbees! Four pork ribs, your choice of how they are prepared (dry rub, spicy dry rub, BBQ sauce, Korean, etc.) with fries, a pickle and honey roll. $20. Beef rib option is $25. Drinks are separate. No water glasses -- must buy a bottle. The ribs were melt in your mouth and buttery tender! The spicy dry rub was just the right amount of heat. The fries were typical crinkle fries (seemed frozen) and had a bit of spice and sugar sprinkled on top. Not so sure about the sugar. The roll could have been better but was lightly brushed with honey butter. It just didn't quite live up to my expectation based on the description. The meal was accompanied by a dill pickle spear. Service was polite. You order at the counter and they bring out your meal. Housed in an old Sonic building on Seminary, it's a close drive for Near Southside peeps. You can wander out for lunch if you're looking for a bbq rib fix and give Ribbees a try. Note: 4 out of 5 only because of the pricing and fries (portion seems a little on the small side for the price. Fries should be thick fresh cut steak fries at this price to make the meal perfect when you have ribs this good. Keeping Ben E Keith in business.). The ribs though are great! Seemingly at $5 each unless the fries and roll improve. Bring on the ribs!

What a great addition to the local meat scene. I had the spicy dry rub, and it delivered The ribs are meaty, and are obviously made with love. The beef rib that I added was also a carnivores dream. I am not a big seasoned fry person, although these are a little different and well worth a try. But it's the ribs you'll be talking about. Did not save room for dessert/shake but will be back soon.

Worth every minute of the wait. This one's climbing my top 50 list faster than a brisket disappears at a family reunion. After one failed mission to Sabar BBQ, where I showed up too late and found an empty pit (and an emptier stomach), I came back like a man on a barbecue pilgrimage. The sun was blazing, the line was growing, and I wasn't about to be left holding nothing but a napkin this time. Pitmaster Zain Shafi runs this blue trailer like a flavor command center. The smell hit me halfway through the line and had me grinning like a kid at the state fair. I made my move when it was my turn, and if you know me, you know lamb is my kryptonite. I ordered the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, then couldn't stop myself from adding brisket and Tandoori Turkey. The sides? Kachumber Salad and Daal Chawaal, because even Uncle Sean needs balance in life. Zain loaded everything up, tossed it all on top of some naan for good measure, and sent me to my table like a champion headed to the winner's circle. The first bite of lamb ribs nearly had me proposing to the pit. Spicy, tender, smoky perfection with a bark that made my heart sing. The brisket was rich and juicy, the turkey came with that tandoori kick that slapped me awake in the best way possible. The sauces just tied the whole thing together like a big barbecue hug. The yogurt mint cilantro sauce was made to cool and lift the brisket and turkey to a whole new level. The red sauce packed a punch and paired with the lamb like it was born for the job. I boxed up some leftovers for my wife, the Side Dish Queen herself, because a man who doesn't bring home naan from Sabar BBQ is a man sleeping on the couch. She confirmed what I already knew: this was next-level barbecue, the kind that earns legends and long lines. Sabar BBQ is only open on weekends, and only fools show up late. I won't make that mistake again. This was stop number 15 on my Texas Monthly Top 50 journey, leaving me with 35 more glorious BBQ pilgrimages ahead before the passport is full and my belt officially waves the white flag. If loving these lamb ribs is wrong, I don't wanna be rib-right.
