Recently, my glasses broke while I was playing with my sister's dog, and I stopped by the office hoping for some help. The experience started off a little frustrating, and I didn't feel my concerns were fully understood at first. However, after I asked to speak with a doctor, Savannah stepped in and completely changed the experience. She took the time to listen, looked into the situation, consulted with management, and followed up with me the next day. When my replacement glasses were mistakenly sent to an old address, Savannah went above and beyond by personally driving to the home and leaving her business card in an effort to help recover them. That level of customer service is rare. While the situation itself was frustrating, Savannah's professionalism, persistence, and willingness to help turned it into a positive experience. After more than 15 years as a patient, I can confidently say that Dr. Mashouf and the medical team have earned my trust. No office is perfect, but how a team responds when something goes wrong says a lot about its culture. I have serious concerns about how they maintain patient information; its a borderline HIPAA violation. They require numerous forms be filled out, many duplicative; and you might consider having an Attorney review them before signing them and waiving so many of your rights. Despite filling out the forms online before the visit, the practice still requires you to sign more forms when you arrive and it seems the staff there has no way to retrieve them. So basically, your private information is out there somewhere unknown, and you have no idea how it is being used and who really has access to it. You should realize, EyeLux is a big corporation. Because of her outstanding service to her patients, I suggested to her that she seek another practice, or that she open her own office, rather than work for a company that requires you to waive your rights as a patient, asks repetitive questions, and doesn't appear to have any answers as to where your private information resides. What makes the situation especially frustrating is that they performed my eye exam knowing that I had already purchased an expensive pair of frames from another vendor and intended to have the lenses made through them. At no point during that process was I told that they would later require me to sign a waiver releasing them from responsibility if the frames were lost or damaged. The lenses themselves were inexpensive compared with the frames, which cost close to $1,000. It was therefore completely reasonable for me to want some reassurance that my property would be handled carefully and that the business would stand behind its work if something went wrong. Instead, I was told that they would only take responsibility for the lenses and not the frames, while still expecting me to hand over the frames and assume all of the risk. What was most disappointing was the indifference with which the situation was handled. By the time this issue came up, I had already invested significant time completing the exam and trying to move forward with the order. When I asked what they recommended to resolve the situation, their solution was essentially that I should purchase a new pair of frames from them instead. That response felt less like an attempt to solve a customer-service problem and more like an effort to turn the problem into another sale. I understand that optical shops may have policies regarding customer-supplied frames. The issue is not simply that such a policy exists. The issue is that it should have been clearly disclosed before I spent my time completing an exam and attempting to place an order, particularly when they already knew I intended to use outside frames. The entire experience was unnecessarily frustrating, poorly communicated, and dismissive. I left with hours of wasted time and very little confidence in the front desk team's judgment or commitment to customer service.

My old glasses are still fine and the prescription didn't change.

Everything was carefully and clearly explained to me. The prices were very reasonable. They took my insurance (EyeMed). They have a lovely interior. It is extremely clean, modern, and comfortable. I liked the receptionist and the doctor I interacted with. Both were friendly and professional. I ordered some colored contacts and they got them for me in a day. They estimated up to a week to get them in, then beat that estimate by a lot. Nice. Their bathroom is very clean, well-kept, and smelled nice. That's always a good thing! Much appreciated. All-around very professional and friendly people here. I would definitely recommend them for all things related to eye exams, glasses, and contacts.
