We had blown off taking care of our termite issues for far too long. Mike came out and did a brief inspection and since we have obvious signs of termites he recommended a fumigation to get things started. I agreed, since it had been so long since our last inspection and treatment. The crew showed up on time, got our house covered and we came back two days later to a termite free (and to my wife's joy spider free) home. No damage, no mess. All done professionally. Dealing with the food was a hassle, but for once or twice in a lifetime, not that big of a deal. It didn't "bug" me. Termites will always be with us. No one wants to be surprised that when termites are discovered in your home, the house has to be tented and fumigated. We wanted to find a company that focused on preventing or limiting termites and their damage. Fortunately, we found Reynolds Termite Control. Mike, the owner, came to our house and did an inspection. While our home was fumigated several years ago, we were concerned that the termites may have returned. Mike's inspection reassured us that our home did not have any new infestations. The best part was Reynolds' annual termite inspection service. This annual service includes a complete inspection of our home along with service within the year if we find any new termite problems. After they have done with our house we have noticed they took our new outdoor broom with themselves and also after all rain we had in last few months I have noticed that they damaged all my Gutters and none of them are working properly and when they covered our home with special materials they messed up the grading and rain water wasn't flowing directly I have called mike last week and he denied any damages to our gutters and now I need to pay $1350. to my gutter co to fix level and grading I am very disappointed read more

I have used Mike Reynolds for 2 of my homes. My duplex he tented a few years back and I did a yearly contract to prevent future issues. between the 1st and going into the 2nd year contract, I noticed termite dropings and told Reynolds. They came out for the 2nd year inspection and said these were old, I brushed it off and cleaned up the area only then to have more comeback, I called Reynolds and they said they would send someone out. That never happened. I called and complained only to get the inspection report that was never given to me and a refund check for the annual service contract. What a loser Mike and his company are. They don't stand behind the work or contracts. read more

Unfortunately, we are not able to recommend this company, and expect that you to make your own decision but wanted to share our observations with you. We have had Reynolds Termite Control under annual contract to inspect our premises for more than 10 years, and they have done so each year. During a recent inspection in August 2016, the inspector Josh noted some termite problem areas, including a structural beam that supported our roof. The next up was for Mike Reynolds to come out and do the repair work. He initially came out in September and did some work on the easy to get areas. But then said he would return at a later date to take care of the supporting structural beam. We kept in contact with Mike over the months, with his representations were that he would come out to take care of things but the appointments were not kept. Finally, a couple months ago, we told him that we needed a definitive time for him to come out. He refused to schedule an appointment even if it was several weeks out. He said he was too busy doing other jobs and was not sure when he would be available. As a result of the issue not being resolved during Fall 2016, the termites spread further in the upper area of the house including the attic. Finally, we had Another company come out to treat the beam. Additionally, we had This company do a special heat treatment on the entire attic which cost us a considerable amount. Regarding the negative review left by Bernie the real estate agent. I am the home buyer that had my inspector recommend Reynolds Termite. Too often agents will use their guy to do a quick sign off "wink wink", and leave the buyer to deal with future problems. All you need to know is Bernie the agent during our preview stated confidently "this house doesn't even need a fumigation, nothing more than a few sprays and you're good to go". Well thank god we paid for our own inspection as there needed to be 2 days tenting for fumigation, 4 days of dry rot repair, and many other issues to be skipped by the company Bernie always uses to get through escrows. Mike Reynolds is professional, thorough and actually treats your property as he would his own. This is simply a case of a bitter agent who had to split a little commission on my deal. You would think a deal worth well over a million on an old construction house would merit a few extra dollars to make sure it sells ethically. Unfortunately some agents crave every last nickle and when they have to give a penny they will disparage a company that is awesome. Same location for almost 40 years with the highest community respect. I can't thank Mike and his top notch crew enough to make my home healthy and happy. I have used Reynolds Termite Control for annual termite inspections in SJC since 2001 and they have been professional and effective. Josh has been the technician the entire time and he is always prompt, nice and thorough. Our attic is very difficult to access and cramped, and he makes his way into it every year. He inspects and treats anything he sees under the gutters on hard to access parts of the roof. A couple of years ago he pointed out some dry-rot above our decking and I never felt any pressure to use Reynolds to do the repairs. I feel like they are fair, friendly and effective. Gave 1 star because they showed up for estimate appt. Booked appt. Showed up an hour early,( I had to leave work to accomodate). He poked around making more & larger holes in woodwork. Never in fourteen years of real estate have I been so disappointed in a company. The bid was 50% more than other companies for the same amount of work the other company gave. If you like your neighbors, then don't use this company. This started Thursday afternoon almost immediately after they put on a termite tent at my neighbors Triplex, which is directly next door to my single family house. An extremely high pitched ringing sound was coming from the tented Triplex. This was in the afternoon so I tried to ignore it the best I could. I closed the windows in my house, which made the noise slightly less annoying, My bedroom window is right next to the Triplex so I had no choice but to keep all of my windows closed for sleeping that night. Problem is we are currently in a heat wave here in Southern California so having my windows closed all night was beyond miserable. Between the high pitched ringing all night and the sweltering heat from having to keep my windows closed, I had to call off work on Friday morning because my head was killing me. Unfortunately, causing me to lose a days worth of pay. So Friday morning at about 9am I contacted the number on the front of the tent (REYNOLD"S TERMITE) and told them what was going on. I told them it might be a house alarm or something and the it was making me crazy having to hear this constant shrill. They said they would contact the owner to see if he could turn off what ever was making this noise remotely, because they couldn't go in to the premises because of the toxic gas. At about 3pm on Friday I called Reynold's termite again to inform them that nothing has been done about the high pitched noise and that I couldn't endure another night of the noise and high temperature in my house from having to keep my windows close. I was dying of heat and noise exhaustion. I was told there is nothing they could do. The receptionist that I had spoken to earlier in the morning stated that someone had gone down to the Triplex and that it wasn't a house alarm but some other kind of alarm like a smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector and that the best I could hope for was for the battery to run out. WHAT. Those things are usually hardwired also and that that was no resolution at all. They also said that the tent would not be coming off until the next day. They told me they would have the owner of the Triplex call me. I told them that I could not afford to lose another day of wages or my health due to the heat and my sanity due to the high pitched shrill. I indicated that the right thing to do would be to pay for me to spend a night in a motel room so I didn't have to lose my mind because I just couldn't take it anymore. The owner never called me. So an hour later, I called the police and the City of San Clemente to make a written noise complaint because this had been going on for over 24 hours. The City Code enforcement spoke on the phone to the OC Sheriff officers who arrived so I could make a formal noise complaint. I was told by the Code enforcement person that I could make a Civil suit against the owner under the noise ordinance. The officers (who first hand witnessed the stifling temperature in my house and the shrill coming from the Triplex next door) made an incident report for me, if I want to make a civil suit complaint. I waited another hour for the owner of the property to call me to do the right thing, he never did!! I went online and found the lease expensive lodging that I could for a Friday night with was a Courtyard for $107.00 for a AAA rate. I packed an over night bag and I left for my health and sanity sake. When I returned to my house this morning at 9am, the tent was off and the high pitched shrill was off. Because Mike (the owner of the Termite Company) nor the Owner of the property were willing to do the right thing for my health and sanity sake by calling me back and offering to pay for a room for the night, so I wouldn't have to endure this a second night, I will be moving forward civilly to recoup my one days lost wages and one night lodging. I have proof in a text message to my boss the I couldn't work because of my head hurt and the worst nights sleep ever, as well as the OC Sheriff's noise incident report. Why is it so hard for people to do the right thing. read more
