I never write reviews. But we had an experience today that was absolutely HORRIBLE. Home shield was our second quote on some termite concerns. When they came, they asked if they could probe the house. I've had two other companies come so I know what probing the house for termites means. They SHOULD use a specific tool with a pointy end and they gently probe around the perimeter of the home. They also told me that there would be no damage done by probing the home. However, they walked around the house using the end of a metal broom stick and aggressively hit all of the eaves and exposed old termite damage and which ripped large portions of the paint off of our home. He claimed that he was just exposing termite damage when I said that he's damaging our home and a probe test shouldn't be like this. He also told me that other people have complained about him earlier in the week and tried to justify his claim for why he was hitting our home so hard. It made absolutely no sense. I've been a homeowner for over a decade and I've had multiple homes bought and sold where I've had termite damage treated and have had tenting. I am well aware of how these inspections are handled. Now I have patchwork I need to complete and I need to find a paint match to repaint my home. When they were told to leave, they said that they would have a manager call to discuss concerns with us. No one ever called us. I would absolutely avoid this company at all cost. It's now a huge bummer and my husband and I have to carve out time to do the repairs and paint our ourselves and we have small children at home. Lastly, for the record, the other two termite companies we've had it come out, have said that this is old termite damage and was not active. We were only tented just less than six years ago but now I have exposed wood and missing paint. How lovely. UPDATE: a nice manger saw this review and reached out. These guys used to be great, but the most recent time that I called them it felt like a lot of bureaucracy - I called their office and explained everything to one guy and then he was going have to transfer me to the termite membership people and then they were going have to transfer me to a separate department for the pest membership. Seems like they are not the same family owned place that I used to go to. Not to mention that it was going to take a couple of weeks for someone to come out. So far so good! Eric came by today for a one time treatment focusing on ants. My experience in scheduling the appointment was good. Decided on the one time treatment...could have gotten a price break for signing up for a quarterly schedule, but having had a terrible experience with a different exterminator, I am wary. Also don't need any more monthly payments to add to the pile. Eric was on time, thoughtful, shared some helpful information, and was very thorough compared to other services that I've dealt with. I called yesterday wanting a quote, we've been having ant issues at my place of work. The guy who answered gave me a price and I asked if he could email me the quote so I could send it to my boss. He said the "best he could do is send it through text"... I never received the quote. I'm sure they do a good job according to their reviews but the customer service I received wasn't the best . I ended up calling another local pest control company and right from the start it was a much more positive experience. I wondered how this company could get so MANY 5 star reviews across all of their locations-- and now I know... This company is incredible. From the initial outreach via Yelp to our inspection to our service to follow up post service-- everyone was prompt, courteous and extremely professional. When we had issues or concerns in the process, we had an incredible experience with Sebastian who answered all of our concerns and was extremely knowledgeable. Despite HomeShield being more expensive than the competitors, it was Sebastian's expertise and customer centric approach that sealed the deal for us to move forward with HomeShield. Our technician, Elias, texted 30 mins before he arrived, made sure to address any concerns prior to starting work and was able to thoroughly answer any questions we had throughout the day. I was initially concerned with the drilling we needed to have done inside the house-- and thanks to Elias-- the holes in the baseboards/walls were nearly undetectable after he completed the drilling. I'm not so sure I would have been able to say the same using another vendor! We really appreciated Elias' attention to detail. With regards to the outside drilling in the cement-- I've seen other homes with very noticeable drill patches-- not the case with Elias at HomeShield. While I hope I never have termites again, I would 1000% use HomeShield again based on my experience with Sebastian and Elias and would definitely recommend HomeShield over any other vendors in the area. read more

We found sawdust droppings all over our dining table one day, and upon further inspection, discovered these tiny wood boring beetles in the chandelier. Once we saw the sawdust, we knew it wasn't good. We weren't satisfied with our other pest service, so I did some research and called HomeShield Pest Control. They were hands-down excellent.
